General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.
  • Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function.

  • Fix switch hitter sub presentations using the wrong helmet sometimes.
  • Fix RTTS CP never getting a goal before the 1st pitch

2.Scouted players should now have feedback at the time of the amateur draft in June.
3.Fixed CPU roster control and lineup issue where users turn cpu roster control on, set a lineup, but lineup changes do not hold.
4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.
An attempt to fix in-game disconnect issues in the production community. This is in an effort to stop the dreaded traffic delay problem the the community is reporting.

Thats what I thought. If I wasn't seeing it I'd think "dude your crazy", but it's been night and day difference. I think the manager needs to give me a couple days off.

It took me 5 minutes with the game after I bought it to see that CPU roster control ON (lineups) did not work. Doesn't take much testing there. It was either an oversight or they released the game knowing it wasn't working, but did not have the time or ability to fix it.
I agree with Jim on why he thinks it wasn't patched (auto-fix of lineups).

Why they thought they fixed it though and listed it as fixed in the recent patch was a glaring oversight. It took me just a few minutes again to see it wasn't working correctly.

I am happy with the gameplay itself, and I think they did a great job with it.

OK, here comes the obligatory food analogy, lol.

It's like ordering dinner at a steak restaurant. The steak is great (one of the best you ever had), but the salad is wilted, the bread is dry, and when you tell them your whiskey sour has a fly in it, they bring you back an amaretto sour back, lol.

Whether you go back to that restaurant is going to depend on whether you can overlook the other stuff because the steak was great or you just can't. Is it the only steak house in town? Did the restaurant at least try to make it right? If they tried and failed, can you accept that? Is it the attempt that matters to you or is it the outcome that only matters.

We all have our own opinions and have to make that decision for ourselves.

yea the game is playable because i put it on and it works...but it does not work the way it is intended.....but is ok i guess because all games have bugs and scea is just human

what was i thinking expecting to get what i paid for

funny thing is that these issues were not there last year...i guess they were not human last year
I am not trying to convince anyone but I am glad you find it comical!

I am sure there a quite a few things in your life you have shelled out more money on and have gotten less out of it. You make it sound like you bought a baseball game and got nothing!

This argument won't hold water.

Again, as this continues to hold true: perspective, gentlemen.

Repeating myself again, as this thread is way too cluttered with arguing, when I did a dramatic test of St Lo, sending Pujols down for some unknown OFer and did AUTO FIX, it worked great. Did the same with a couple other teams and it worked.

I'd like to set lineups and have them stick, but with some fixes (it's a workaround) they stick really well regardless and I call up and send down guys daily (just like real time).
Yes, I remember you stating that, and I certainly am not blaming you or anyone else from O.S. That is not your job to know every scenario to test.
To clarify, I am not really referring to lineups in general (CPU roster control OFF), but lineups with CPU roster control ON. When I got the game, and after the patch, I placed the catcher in the leadoff spot. Very rarely would the CPU go along with that if any AI logic worked (except some exceptions like Jason Kendall, lol). If CPU roster control was off, I would have no problem with the CPU moving the C, but with it ON, it should "stick" no matter how illogical it may be (auto-fix in the case of CPU roster control ON could have been disabled or only worked when subs were required, and then it should have went back to the set line-ups). That is how I tested it after the 2nd patch was released, and I thought to myself, uh-oh, its not really fixed...

Auto-fix should not have been an issue with CPU roster control ON, plain and simple. One can make an argument that with CPU roster control OFF, that the lineup logic isn't really all that bad, but that it may have more to do with the attributes given to players or that the attributes they valued for each order in the lineup can't cover real life (Helton batting 3rd when he doesn't have modern day 3rd hole power (personally I like guys like Helton or a Keith Hernandez (like Knight mentioned) batting 3rd, but a lot of managers don't anymore.

I will just make do with all the edits and workarounds I have to do this year to play this great game, but I'm not happy about it .

They left them in for the USER and removed it when it was causing the CPU to steal(with the trigger)

Jim...

I tweaked the lineups for even more realistic MLB play for the latest version...try that one (v5).

okay i installed the new patch when it dropped. had no problems at all then last night tried to load my original franchise from like the first days i had the game and it took me back to the PS screen. so i deleted the utility and re booted the PS3 then it took a long time to load i guess it was re creating the utility file. then i started it and it worked okay. so my question is forgetting that old franchise cuz i started one like 3-4 days before the patch and that one still worked with the patch.. is my RTTS screwed? cuz i'm in aug of 2012 and i just wanna know now before the file gets corrupted.

i haven't re downloaded the patch yet either should i someone please seriously respond.

someone please?

If you haven't downloaded the patch, I think your RTTS will be OK(just skip training in September). You will only have problems if you try to continue a RTTS once you have downloaded the patch.

# 1274 WTF @ 05/06/09 08:17 PM
It's official. I suck at this game. Very tough since I haven't played the Show series since the 07 series. Doing my RTTS, I'm hitting .113 through the first 20 games of spring training. I'm terrible, lol.

Okay, I've been away from this forum for awhile and don't have time to wade through all the post patch impressions, but can someone explain to me exactly what the patch F's up in terms of previously saved game files??

I have a RTTS saved, a few rosters, my slider settings and think that's it. Should I delete all of the above first, download the patch and then start from scratch on everything, or is some of the prexisting saves okay to leave??? After installing the patch and then restarting an RTTS, will these issues caused by the patch not happen??

Thanks guys

I know there are deadlines to meet and alot people are enjoying the game as is but for me and a few others it's very hard to play a game that not true to the real thing and the only reason it's not is from lackof effort or carelessness on there qa team and no i don't blame Russell for this as he can only do so much. I assure you that in the future i will not buy this game until i know for certin that it will be playable, which right now for me it's not, well without having to do a bunch of work arounds and all Some advice for next year if you have to delay it to make it right then please do so, as we'll all be happier in the end.
I agree 100% I'm playing RTTS and I don't see anything different still has base running issues and fielding issues and the crash. It's been 3 months since this game came out and I can't say that they really fixed anything. I'm with you I won't buy this game next year.

I was up to date sunday but was not able to follow the thread all week. I just have one question. Have the Yankee games that were supposed to be day games been switched to day games on the new schedule?
