I deleted everything and started as though I never loaded the show, Downloaded the patch and the latest roster update and have had zero problems. IMO the custom rosters are over rated, I know some people are anal about it but after your first season is done guys get traded and cut etc...

I thought so at first, but I dunno. The CPU does seem to be more aggressive with pitchouts and pickoff attempts and I've noticed less offline throws, so that may be part of it.

After an inital slump though, I've had no issues with guys like Ellsbury at all. It may have just been coincidence.

That would be great. So Russell has stated the post game highlights are coming back. Good enough for me. Not sure if there will be anything else on its way, but that will pretty much fix my issue with the game. Hopefully they address the other things you guys want as well.

This forum is to state the problems, wait for word and much needed resolve. So I dont get all the nonsense. Please dont continue with nothing, unless it has to do with Patch. Its been enough time for us to get some sort of 411! This shouldve not occured in first place. You guys should be wanting to hear from RUSSELL as much as me? Unless you dont have a prob with update or dont even have the game. We are 1000 post in and have yet to come to any sort of resolution!
You don't want to waste time using spaces?

FYI, the purpose of this forum isn't to state problems and wait for answers, the purpose of this forum is to talk about the game with other like-minded people. This isn't a SCEA forum and they have no obligation to be here.

Id like to think that they are fixing other things in addition to the post game highlights, specifically all the crashing and wonky nonsense in franchise mode and RTTS mode. Some people are experiencing crashes, some arent. It doesnt seem to be tied to rosters and the majority, not all, are having problems with pre-existing franchises, which sucks if youve invested time in it.

Still looking forward to hearing from SCEA.

As fistofrage said, there is a definite price of a patch or a fix, but there is also a price to leaving us out to dry (which i dont think will happen).

If you haven't gotten the game to work yet turn off your PS3, delete the GAME save utility MLB 09 the Show file by pressing x on Game Save Utility finding MLB 09 The Show, press triangle and choose delete.

After that is gone, put your game disc back in and make a decision on whether you want the new patch or not (couldn't hurt to try it again, mine is working OK) and then the game will take a few minutes to reinstall on your hard drive.

I personally recommend that you don't use older franchises and delete them and start over.

If you have a franchise you don't want to give up on, then don't reinstall the patch and it should work as before (you will be at the out of the box game and will not have patch 1.01 (addressed the ticker, some online issues).

Good luck.

Whenyou say your having no problems, what do you mean by that (ie: Replay and freeze)

# 832 DrUrsus @ 04/30/09 10:16 PM
The Chef, I have also had the laggy button issue post patch (never had this problem before). It is only happening when I am trying to edit rosters so far.
I recommend you stay logged out of Sports Connect. That may be causing the lag. My controllers are fine and I have never had problems with them before.

A new thing happened to me last night, but only once. I had a guy on first and a guy on 3rd. The base running windows would not come up for one at bat. The pitcher was throwing so far out of the strike zone, it was almost like I was getting pitched around, which is what I decided they were doing to me, and I was right, so A. Ramirez took all 4 pitches and then the bases were loaded.

On the next batter, everything was fine and the baserunning windows were back. Never happened again after that. Maybe this is a pre-patch issue as well, but I had never read about it or seen it personally.

My replays have worked every game I have played with all of my new franchises I have started based on the SCEA 4/17 rosters on my launch PS3. I just don't understand why some people are having this problem and why some people aren't.

One thing is make sure your hard drive has enough space (I'm sure most of you thought of that anyway). Does the PS3 have a way to clear the HDD cache like the Xbox 360? If so, that may be the road to try next if you're desperate.

Fistofrage, I have had high scoring games with multiple HRs and have been in and out of the bullpen a lot and the replays are still working. I am even getting the in-game replay highlights. I can't help to think I have been lucky, and at some point it may stop working .

What is the deal with some guys here now not using spacing, paragraphs, etc. Even if you're using a Blackberry type device or PDA, if you want your posts to actually be read, you may want to do this, lol. I just skip over some people's posts if their a strain to read.

No freezes and replays working (so far), knock on simulated computer wood.

Im experiencing much of the stuff you are, DrUrsus. I am now experiencing an issue with the pitch window not coming up at random times.

I also did a clean install, if you will. This patch appears completely nerfed on my end.

Yeah, I have no idea anymore, about anything pertaining to this debacle. I realize people want to applaud Russell for posting here, but he couldnt be more cryptic, most of the time. Its really not all that helpful at all.

My assumption being that he posted it in that thread alone is that they possibly have discovered a work around for the highlight issue.

# 836 The Chef @ 04/30/09 10:41 PM
DrUrsus,

Im not connected to Sports Connect since I cant because I dont have the patch. Its weird, the button lag is absolutely terrible when looking at rosters, free agents, trade screen or anything basically affiliated with the roster in anyway. I really dont get what is causing this since I rolled back so unless it was the first patch that fixed this then Im clueless what is causing it all to happen so suddenly.

Exactly, the ambiguity doesn't help anything.

This is the price we are paying for 2K sucking *** as a baseball game, SCEA has no legit competition and I guarantee you if they did, this patch wouldn't be so half-assed. I mean not even fixing the CPU Roster on lineups? I don't even feel like starting a franchise because I have to go fix all 30 lineups before I start.

# 839 thdudeabides @ 04/30/09 10:46 PM
I'm starting to think the CIA is more forthcoming with information then SCEA.

This happened to me pre-patch once (same deal...I never saw it again) so I don't think it's related to this current patch.

As for the rest, I agree it's troubling. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop each game I've played...lol. For now, I'm on hold until Russell devulges more, one way or the other. On the off-chance we do get a new patch/fix, I'd hate to be in the same boat as others who have lost franchises, etc that are well underway.
