The new patch to upgrade MLB 09: The Show to version 1.06 has been released. Here is a list of the fixes from Community Manager Ramone Russell (Russell_SCEA on our boards):

This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled". Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct. Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function. Fix the problem in RTTS as the pitcher when a baserunner from 1st steals, the camera would sometimes swing around thru the crowd. Fix switch hitter sub presentations using the wrong helmet sometimes. Fix RTTS CP never getting a goal before the 1st pitch Fix the Batter Training camera automatically being set to Catcher Cam. Fix the Flashback Presentation X out problem. Franchise Bugs 1.Fixed September 14Road to the Show season lock. 2.Scouted players should now have feedback at the time of the amateur draft in June. 3.Fixed CPU roster control and lineup issue where users turn cpu roster control on, set a lineup, but lineup changes do not hold. 4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents. 5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season. 6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests. Online: 1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user�s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.) 2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages. 3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage. 4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm. An attempt to fix in-game disconnect issues in the production community. This is in an effort to stop the dreaded traffic delay problem the the community is reporting.

It's most likely:
- A faulty sector on the internal hard drive (maybe you interrupted install causing this to happen?) If your hard drive is bad, you can replace it with any SATA laptop HDD.
- A bad firmware install.(maybe you needed a firmware update and it was interrupted due to poor internet connection, user interruption, or act of God) That could mean your system is bricked, unfortunately, and you would need Sony repair.

The patch would not have affected your machine in this way at all. When you delete the Game utility MLB 09 cache it deletes the patch.

I would do a google on the error code. Start with this link:

Sorry I can't help you more, but a google search should help you. Contact Sony. Good luck. Just deleting the MLB 09 Game Data Utility MLB 09 cache wouldn't have done anything to your PS3. I am not sure what you did or what happened since I wasn't there.

I just played my second game (Exhibition) since the patch. The first time I played with SCEA 04.27 rosters and no launch to SportsConnect. Today I played my second game, I launched to SportsConnect and didn't log out, I used Knight's version 2 Roster Set, and I got all post game highlights just fine. I might add that I did not delete anything from my PS3, no files, nothing. Not sure if I did anything special to get them, but they did work this time. Later

anyone else having less hits post patch? ever since i got the patch my offense has taken an extreme nose dive. im averaging 2 runs a game with my Dodgers. YIKES!!!!!!

Man this thread has become a huge clusterfudge now. Im finally getting ready to start my franchise tomorrow (going to Rays/Sox game tonight). HOPING that Russell makes it in here soon to update us.

"Patch or Patch not...There is no try."

When I say I deleted everything, I deleted everything. Game Data, Save, etc. The Show is the only thing on my PS3. I wiped everything clean. To no avail.

I feel your pain fist. I hope we can get some sort of update soon. Like someone mentioned in a previous post this thread has become a huge "clusterfudge".

Fist, since you are having the same problems as me with no post game highlights, I always look for your posts.

It something that is triggering the vault to stop recording in the late innings.

Complete game by pitcher - get highlites.

I also got highlites last night. I played a game vs. Boston. Verlander gave up 7 runs in 4 innings. I put in Seay. Pitched the 5th and then fast forwrded to the 9th and batted. - Got Highlites.

So either its something that just triggers or its something with warming guuys up in the pen or putting in relievers after the 7th inning.

Also, I have never seen a HR flashback. When A guy comes up in the 5th inning and they say lets flash back to the 3rd, it looks like it wants to start, but never does. Do you guys see those?

I've played 4 games post patch, and 2 have had replays and 2 haven't. The 2 that did were pitchers duel, with very few hits. The 2 that didn't were higher scoring, with more hits. I used relievers in all 4 games. For me it seems like I lose the highlights when there are more plays that saved, like in a game with more hits.

Also, does anyone else notice the ticker doesn't have scores anymore. Now all I get is the teams playing, and the time the game will start.

I have played the same and had the same thing happen although all my games were within 2 runs. I used relievers in all my games too but every other game so far has had replays. Strange

how does knights rosters stop the cpu from messing up the lineup?

...and if i use them I don't have to play with roster control on?

He changed up some of the players rating so that they stay in their real life line up spot.. with in reason. And no, you do not have to play with roster control on.

For those at work that can't open the link posted there, it is a long winded fix that gets around the "crash date(s)".

This game is crashing on me too....All due to the patch, I deleted all game & saved datas last night, went to reintall it, and it freezes on the screen when it shows MLB & MLBPA copyright, etc.......even the ps button don't work...only way for it to go away is eject the disc (which takes a good 30-45 seconds for it to come out), or shut the power off

now today, i reinstall it, it worked fine (however I reinstalled it with internet off), then I quit, install the patch on....shortly after when I make a RTTS right before it allowed me to save it, boom, game freezes, disc doesn't work again

I know it has to do with the patch, so I'm not installing the patch again period (that is if the game ever works again)

Edit: I had a long rant in here on the patch and an update, but I dont see it doing any good other than starting an argument.

Just hoping for an update soon. An idea of what is going on and how it will be fixed (if at all)

You would think that something would be said this afternoon. I can live with their decision either way. I just need to know if I start a franchise now and if they intrend on fixing things will I need to restart.

I have a sneaky feeling - NO PATCH, but replays will be restored with the 5/04 roster update.

I'm with you on all counts. I just want to know if I should move forward or not (the wait's killin' me...lol).

I also share your suspicions about the patch and the fix for replays. We'll see, I suppose.

Interesting theory, cant say i disagree. But what if you dont use their rosters? I wonder if just loading the roster (going onto SportsConnect) would solve the issue?

For alot of us, we arent using SCEA rosters, so to tie the replay/flashback/crash fix into that would be shortsighted and a bad move on their end.

I too would like to know if I can start with the patch or not. I dont want to delete everything and re-install, but will if I have to. But an update would at least let us know what we are looking at here........
