General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.
  • Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function.
  • Fix the problem in RTTS as the pitcher when a baserunner from 1st steals, the camera would sometimes swing around thru the crowd.
  • Fix switch hitter sub presentations using the wrong helmet sometimes.
  • Fix RTTS CP never getting a goal before the 1st pitch
  • Fix the Batter Training camera automatically being set to Catcher Cam.
  • Fix the Flashback Presentation X out problem.

Franchise Bugs

1.Fixed September 14 Road to the Show season lock.
2.Scouted players should now have feedback at the time of the amateur draft in June.
3.Fixed CPU roster control and lineup issue where users turn cpu roster control on, set a lineup, but lineup changes do not hold.
4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.
An attempt to fix in-game disconnect issues in the production community. This is in an effort to stop the dreaded traffic delay problem the the community is reporting.

Next week sometime we are planning to release a mini patch to fix the replay issues that were caused by patch number 2. There won't be any other fixes and changes made to the game in this update. We greatly appreciated everyone's patience and help in identifying the bugs and glitches in the game that we were able to fix. We will continue to monitor any issues the community may have, so please continue to provide your constructive feedback. As always, thanks for your loyalty and enjoy MLB 09 The Show.

P.S. I have another update that I will be posting sometime today (hopefully) this one has nothing to do with the game though.
Russell, thanks for the update. Let me be the first to pose this question. If we start a franchise now (or have one started already) that is NOT giving us replays or flashbacks, is it safe to continue? I assume that this mini patch (or patch 1 lite) will work with existing franchises, correct?

Thanks again, just wanna know if we are safe to go.

Just PM'd Russell about this (I was afraid it would get lost in the bickering...lol) He responded with quickness (thanks again Russ) and said I should be good to go as it's only addressing the replay bug.

Nice..thanks SoxFan. Being a Yankees fan, I never thought i'd be thanking a Sox fan but I just did. Gonna keep on chugging along with my franchise then.

Thanks Sox (and Russell). I re-did all my rosters off Knights set (thanks again Knight!) and started the franchise, got all the marketing, scouting and such set up and was hoping to start today or tomorrow.

So if/when i start this weekend, i may be missing some replays/flashbacks, but when Patch 1 Lite is released, all of those should come back. And the crashing shouldnt be an issue as its a new franchise. Is taht right?

Also, are people, anyone, seeing flashbacks at all now? If you hit a jack in the 2nd inning, do they flash back to it the next at bat, or does it skip it?

Any guesses as to what Russells "other info" is? I dont even know where to begin

I'm actually playing through the ST games though...and I'm about 22 games in. I'm creating a new save after every game though, haha, because I feel like I'm playing Jenga with my franchise, and the next block I pull out will bring the whole thing down. Has anybody come out of this thing alive?
Sounded like most people narrowed it down to an "extra" game being added to the schedule in April or May. As you tried to get past that game, it was having trouble handling the extra game for some teams, but not others.

This is one big peeing contest. There have been a ton of accusations thrown around, haven't there?

Flat out, the devs have to be able to recreate what is causing the problem. That's been said before, but doesn't appear to be enough for some people.
I don't think I'm being overly dramatic but I do agree that there really isn't a need for this thread anymore. It should be locked and a new thread for Russell to post just updates would be nice.

This has nothing to do with the patch, but its good news something I thought everyone would like to know.

Starting next Monday once a month our roster updates will be released with attribute/ratings updates and changes based on player performance for that month.

Correct (from what I was told). The crashing/freezing, etc are issues with older files. If you are starting a post-patch franchise you should be safe.

Big news for me...Guess what I'm starting tonight!

Awesome, so kind of like living rosters. As the Rays start to heat up, they will see some ratings bumps. Good stuff, me likes (though i wont be using them)

Sox, CB, jim, anyone who has started a franchise or played any games. Are you seeing flashbacks at all now? I know the end of game replays are hit or miss........just want to know waht to expect.

And I suppose i'll ask Russell this too........the fix that is coming sometime next week. It ONLY addresses end of game replays (i assume that doesnt count flashbacks)

/obsession with flashbacks.............when i get an answer.

Wonderful news Russell! Thanks alot! Here will be my gameplan...

1) Delete EVERYTHING "The Show" related from HDD
2) Re-install "The Show" and download the patch
3) Wait for Knight to finish up v.4 and v.5 rosters

Then we should be good to go to start a franchise, eh? Once the "mini update" comes out, it will not affect our franchises? That's what I'm gathering from you, eh, Soxfan?

Next year, give me THIS game, FIXED. I'll take a roster update if everything that's in it is fixed.

Man that would be great. This game but fixed. I would plop my 60.00 down in a heartbeat if they came on and said, "hey guys, we updated the rosters and fixed all the bugs from '09 and called it '10". LOL.

Tater..I never downloaded the patch. I wasn't sure how it would work with existing franchises, plus there really wasn't anything in there that I felt was completely necessary. Add that to the fact of all the issues that surrounded it and I decided to pass.

My thought was, I've played nearly the entire season with the game out of the box, I've adapted to it, faults and all, I can continue to play it this way and get full enjoyment from it.

I cant afford a new one and probably not even a repair also! I tried restoring to default Ps3 settings and that didnt work! My last option was to Restore hard drive! Thats what i did b4 i went to bed. Now Im going to see if restoring hard drive fixed my Ps3 which messed up on me since PATCH 1.06!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hope it works
That error message is a PS3 issue...that patch has nothing to do with it (an unfortunate coincidence, I'm afraid). Restoring the HD might work, but my understanding is that your timer (on the lifespan of your PS3) basically starts once you get that error.

Sorry for your situation though.

BTW, if your PS3 is brand new, then it should still fall under warranty, I would think. So you may have hope (in terms of affordibilty of repair)

Yep they could have my money today. We don't need new gimmicks, we just need everything thats in tere to work 100%.

Anyway, thanks for the updates. I'll keep patch 1.06 and start the tigers franchise tonight. And get replays back next week.
