General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.

2.Scouted players should now have feedback at the time of the amateur draft in June.
3.Fixed CPU roster control and lineup issue where users turn cpu roster control on, set a lineup, but lineup changes do not hold.
4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.

Disagree 110%, you dont know what your talking about, end of discussion. SCEA is far more hands on then other companies have ever been here at OS, they nail the little things and they strive for perfection unlike other companies who strive for "good enough" and thats it. If you think SCEA has some sort of underhanded plan to stick it to us because they already have their money then you are way off base.

EDIT- Some companies let competition dictate how much effort or time they put into their games, SCEA doesnt do that.

So I just bought this game, and from what I'm reading it sounds like I shouldn't install this patch.

True?

I personally do not see how they are going to avoid doing another patch. Just so many issues not resolved that was going to be touched on and seemingly many new issues now. Your not going to have workarounds for all of them. Seems the only other option for them is just to delete the current patch and just have us live with the past issues.

I hope we get more concrete answers friday. As for the patch itself, since this is an impressions thread- I really don't see much difference from before except for my paranoia that everything will fail to work at any time.

I appreciate the work the devs did on the game. I do wish the mods would just have a sticky with only devs comments with what appears to be going on as we get tens to hundreds of posts just asking the same questions over and over.

Lastly, i wish people would take more of the middle road and not overally attack or defend the situation. This isn't an extremely important situation but it is frustrating and the lack of information compounds it. Lets just try to be more civil and really i am saying this for all the forums on this board. This is the one area that is pushing me away from here more and more.

Sorry i didn't stay 100% on target but i just wanted to say my peace and not post in 8 threads.

That's right, you "rolled back" to out of the box (1.00).

I never noticed this before the patch, but to be honest with you, I wasn't doing near as much roster editing (or trying to move so quickly before in these screens) either thanks to guys like Knight so maybe it was there before.
All I could find doing searches on here that the first patch did was address the ticker problems and online issues (I think check swings online was one of them), but who knows.

Remember, don't fix them until after Spring Training in your Franchise because they scramble again anyway after spring training (unless you plan to play spring training of course, then you would have to redo the lineups/rotations for the CPU after spring training again too).
I spent hours last night doing that for a franchise. And what stinks is I will have to do it again if I want to play with another team since its done in franchise after Spring Training. Oh well, at least I can play again.

I personally don't think the 2nd patch quality has anything to do with 2K, but to each their own.

My only guess, and its purely a guess, is that its constantly trying to connect to the Sony Network in the background and is causing slight hiccups when trying to navigate rosters and whatnot. Obviously when you turn the game on without the patch it doesnt just log you out of Sports Connect, it logs you out of your PSN account as well so thats my thoughts on it.

If you just bought the game you did not ever have a chance to get patch 1.01, therefore you have nothing to lose to try this patch (1.06).

If it gets screwy with your game, you can just delete it using the instructions I posted on here a few pages back and start back to out of the box (no patch) (since you never had patch 1.01 anyway, see what I mean?). Deleting the patch is not hard. My 4 year old could do it.

If you get lucky like me, you may not have any problems and get the gain although the gain is not a whole lot.

If you want absolutely no hassles and can live with the previous problems, then don't bother with it, and wait and see what happens.

I restarted my season when the patch came out and had not experienced any real problems (I play with CPU control on), but I just noticed something.

Playing a game against the Cubs, they put Bradley in the leadoff spot and had Soriano in cleanup WITHOUT SUBBING IN ANY PLAYERS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL LINEUP I HAD SET.

When I saw Bradley leading off, I figured "OK, this happened because someone was given a day off and the CPU logic kicked in." Nope. The comp just decided to switch around the lineup regardless, something I thought this patch fixed.

The "fix" only applies to sim games and it WILL change if there are prior subs, etc.

I'm going to stop short of calling you a real tool because we don't insult people here.

But, I will say that you should go somewhere else.

Perhaps you could attempt to finish school and learn to use the written word in a less 'ignorant' way

Now, I don't want to imply that your post is totally useless. It does serve one purpose.

It highlights the fact that our society has really hit rock bottom and that we need more people to mentor the likes of you.

I feel sorry for the moderators here because you represent the new breed of poster, message board trash.

Here's what you deserve from this community and from the guys at SCEA: a big bowl of dog crap.

There is no business in the world that would deal with you, not one. Were you to talk to any big company's customer service department the way you spew here, they would quickly tell you where to go.

I have a sneaky suspicion that SCEA will not collapse as a business if they don't get your 60 dollars next year.

Similarly, I suspect that advertisers won't stop advertising on this great site if you left.

Now, kindly knuckle drag yourself out of here and don't come back. We will try to go on without you.

The first time I went on sportsconnect after the patch, it listed the fixes. The lineup glitch was on that list if I remember right, but it was clear that the CPU would make strange switches if say someone was subbed out.

What puzzled me is this is the first time I've seen a lineup switched from what I had set in the CPU roster control when the CPU didn't give any "regulars" a day off. Had a regular like Theroit been given the day off, I'd understand the strange switches.

Agreed. Maybe we need two threads. One, a workaround thread so people can find all the useful community fixes/workarounds. Two, a 1.06 patch issue thread (formatted much like the bugs/glitches in terms of how to formally present it).

This one has not only run it's course, but veered off into a ravine and exploded. Time to lock it up, IMO. I'm sure Russell can open a new one when he has an update for us.

That was one of the funniest, laugh out loud posts Ive ever seen here on OS in all the years Ive been here. My hats off to you sir, and that last line about knuckle dragging has me in stitches.

Yeah, Roster Control "ON" was listed as fixed on SC. Russell clarified after a bunch of us screamed bloody murder (and DrUrses tested and found it only "stuck" for simmed games and not in-game) that it was fixed for simulation only and a workaround was needed for the rest.

The lineup issue wasn't really fixed, as when it resets the lineups due to stamina, etc it will do so based on whatever you have the ratings at (likely why Soriano was swapped). Really, the best course of action is to apply Knight's lineup edits AND use Doc's Roster Control Workaround, IMO.

No its not fixed. But, you can workaround it now unlike prepatch. Read my Post patch CPU roster control on workaround thread for more details on this.

You just turn on your PS3 with the game disc in or put the game disc in and select it and follow the instructions that automatically come up.
