Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

The Chef, I have also had the laggy button issue post patch (never had this problem before). It is only happening when I am trying to edit rosters so far.
I recommend you stay logged out of Sports Connect. That may be causing the lag. My controllers are fine and I have never had problems with them before.

A new thing happened to me last night, but only once. I had a guy on first and a guy on 3rd. The base running windows would not come up for one at bat. The pitcher was throwing so far out of the strike zone, it was almost like I was getting pitched around, which is what I decided they were doing to me, and I was right, so A. Ramirez took all 4 pitches and then the bases were loaded.

On the next batter, everything was fine and the baserunning windows were back. Never happened again after that. Maybe this is a pre-patch issue as well, but I had never read about it or seen it personally.

My replays have worked every game I have played with all of my new franchises I have started based on the SCEA 4/17 rosters on my launch PS3. I just don't understand why some people are having this problem and why some people aren't.

One thing is make sure your hard drive has enough space (I'm sure most of you thought of that anyway). Does the PS3 have a way to clear the HDD cache like the Xbox 360? If so, that may be the road to try next if you're desperate.

Fistofrage, I have had high scoring games with multiple HRs and have been in and out of the bullpen a lot and the replays are still working. I am even getting the in-game replay highlights. I can't help to think I have been lucky, and at some point it may stop working .

What is the deal with some guys here now not using spacing, paragraphs, etc. Even if you're using a Blackberry type device or PDA, if you want your posts to actually be read, you may want to do this, lol. I just skip over some people's posts if their a strain to read.

Im experiencing much of the stuff you are, DrUrsus. I am now experiencing an issue with the pitch window not coming up at random times.

I also did a clean install, if you will. This patch appears completely nerfed on my end.

Yeah, I have no idea anymore, about anything pertaining to this debacle. I realize people want to applaud Russell for posting here, but he couldnt be more cryptic, most of the time. Its really not all that helpful at all.

My assumption being that he posted it in that thread alone is that they possibly have discovered a work around for the highlight issue.

DrUrsus,

Im not connected to Sports Connect since I cant because I dont have the patch. Its weird, the button lag is absolutely terrible when looking at rosters, free agents, trade screen or anything basically affiliated with the roster in anyway. I really dont get what is causing this since I rolled back so unless it was the first patch that fixed this then Im clueless what is causing it all to happen so suddenly.

Exactly, the ambiguity doesn't help anything.

This is the price we are paying for 2K sucking *** as a baseball game, SCEA has no legit competition and I guarantee you if they did, this patch wouldn't be so half-assed. I mean not even fixing the CPU Roster on lineups? I don't even feel like starting a franchise because I have to go fix all 30 lineups before I start.

I'm starting to think the CIA is more forthcoming with information then SCEA.
