General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.
  • Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function.

  • Fix switch hitter sub presentations using the wrong helmet sometimes.
  • Fix RTTS CP never getting a goal before the 1st pitch

2.Scouted players should now have feedback at the time of the amateur draft in June.
3.Fixed CPU roster control and lineup issue where users turn cpu roster control on, set a lineup, but lineup changes do not hold.
4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.
An attempt to fix in-game disconnect issues in the production community. This is in an effort to stop the dreaded traffic delay problem the the community is reporting.

you can put a player on the 60 day DL, you just can't sign a free agent to replace him.

I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere before. I searched everywhere. Has anyone ever discussed the fact that there are never enough players to complete the Rule IV draft in June? Its a small thing but irritates me a bit.

not sure if its been brought up or not. Yeah, I was disappointed by that. Kinda took the wind out of the sails when I did the draft this past year.

I know it was a problem last year too. I wonder if they didn't take into account the supplemental rounds of the draft and didn't put in enough players for each draft.

Question, without trying to sound redundant...

Russell mentioned that the patch included a fix for the "Lineup Glitch" where batting lineups would get screwed up during a franchise.

1) Does the "lineup glitch" only occur when Roster Control is set to ON? Or does it occur when it is set to OFF as well?

2) Even though he mentioned it is fixed...is it?

3) If I download the patch, start a franchise, and have Roster Control set to OFF, will I encounter the "lineup glitch"?

To answer this question, I suppose I should tell you I plan on using Knight's Full Minors Roster V.3 or later (ie...without "lineup glitch fix")

Thank you for your response!

Can someone pm me the 40 man DL issue

# 647 callmetaternuts @ 04/29/09 03:29 PM
Sent you a PM Russell. Also, may want to look at this thread/post (here)

For everyone else (and please, correct me if im wrong) here is what was said (summed up). You ahve your 25 man roster (MLB) and your 40 man roster (that are "available" to your MLB roster). When a player gets injured and is put on the DL, you can bring a player up to replace him. When putting someone on the 60 day DL (in real life) they do not count against the 40 man roster. In The Show, anyone on the DL (15 day, 60 day etc) DOES count against the 40 man. So if, hypothetically, you injure 6 position players on your roster, you may have a ahrd time fielding a lineup as you cant put someone on the 60 day DL and sign a replacement (as in the real MLB).

Make sense?

Good explanation. The only thing I would add is that it affects more than just the 40 man roster, because if a minor leaguer goes on the 60 day, you can't sign a free agent to replace them. I've had my AA team forced to play with 21 players because there is no way to replace them, so putting a player on the DL in AA basically serves no purpose, because you can't replace them.

I wish you could have injuries and roster control on, but it sounds like that'd be a headache.

Yes...this is the big thing with it.
Also...isn't there something with injured players.....and the playoff rosters. You are supposed to be able to bring someone else up if a guy is injured, correct? I thought someone said that wasn't available either.

With the patch...the CPU will use the lineups in the roster control screens....CPU vs. CPU(simmed games)....but when you go to play a game....the CPU will then choose to use the logic based lineup instead of the set lineup(IN GAME...at the lineup screen everything looks like it's the set lineup)

Yeah I don't know what it is but the same thing happened to me. The 1st game after the patch I wasn't getting any post game highlights and then the 2nd game I got it. I was only able to play 2 games after the patch but will try to get in a few games tonite.

Mine was the other way around my first game I saw them all, and my second game is where I could not see the 8th and 9th innings

Its like its running out of space.......If you play a couple innings and fast forward, you can always see them. If you play it out, it stops recording in the later innings.

Just a shot in the dark-

How do you guys access the Bullpen and pinch hitters? I do it through hitting start. But it seems like it stops recording about the time of a pitching change......

I have always used start for pitching changes.....

I guess it could be like it's running out of room but why would that change since the patch came out. Thats my only question

Interesting take. You are right. It is weird that it happens after the patch Lets see what comes of this. Got my fingers crossed. Knowing the history of the SCEA Devs behind the show, I know they are reading this and will let us know what is causing the issue. They are top of the line devs and have been really involved with us.

One thing I would add that is important to know is that even if you set your lineups before the game or before spring training, once you finish simming or ending spring training the cpu lineups will get scrambled again. I think this is because the CPU is trying to use its logic again to make lineups. You then have to go in and redo the lineups for the CPU teams. Then they will stick for simmed games only (check the box scores to see) for the most part (you may have to babysit the lineups in case players fatigue and the CPU overrides you again).
Russell mentioned that the CPU tries to make gametime decisions about their lineups (in one of his posts responding to my question )when you actually play a game. The lineups will look correct, but won't be once you start the actual game.
Read my lineup workaround thread I started for a way around this using a second controller, and the aforementioned lineup fixing after spring training OR use Knights lineup fix rosters until/if they fix this.

Sorry that didn't work for you (deleting Game save utility and/or game save files). So far so good with me. I do make pitching changes only by using the up directional pad method, don't know why that would make a difference, lol, but who knows with this game this year, lol. All this working around just to play. It's almost more work than work .
Fistofrage, now you and some other posters here have me worried it may just stop working for me several games into my franchise.
