Glad to hear you're OK Russell.

I think we all need to take a timeout from this thread unless we have SPECIFIC items to discuss on the patch, its affects, or its issues. Going back and forth on cars to software, and how we feel as consumers doesnt really fit in the PATCH DISCUSSION thread.

Arguing over a video game is not sad. I see people constantly writing this on OS when they are disappointed with something. It's ridiculous imo. Kids dying of cancer is utterly sad. People dying in a war is utterly sad. People saying bad things about a game you like is not utterly sad.

I do find it funny that guys like to call out OS as going downhill and contribute to the very problem itself by throwing gas on the fire. You get long time posters, who do have a sense of entitlement, complaining about the state of OS and yet they talk down to new posters constantly and aren't respectful of other people's opinions either.

This is a message board! If people want to vent, so be it. If you don't like how they vent I guess you are entitled to complain about that. But if you aren't a mod, take the holier than thou attitude someplace else. That's what has annoyed me about the Show forums for awhile and is really the burr up some peoples' butts. I understand the need to self police threads but it goes overboard here. If you are really upset about terrible posts then flag them and have a mod handle it.

Lastly and most importantly, I'm glad Russell is OK.
If these new members post with some respect to this forum and it's rules then they will get some. Notice all the locked threads in this forum? I have reported numerous threads everyday. It's ridicules. Yes it is a message board. One that I spend a lot of time at and respect. I understand the TOS and abide by it. It's not a sense of entitlement it's simply following the rules and being accountable for what I add to this forum.

There have always been dumb posts and posters. People need to learn to just ignore them more and leave it alone. Not every dumb post needs to be responded to. I find people throw gas on the fire and cause more problems than the original post created. I also find it funny that BK can criticize people for this and yet is the most argumentative poster on OS.

Just like this post? You make a decent point then you step on it with an attack on another member. Where do you think this is going to go now?

First and foremost, I don't have a holier than thou attitude. Where did I say that people shouldn't vent their frustrations? Its the demands, the "I spent $60....) arguments that caused me to write what I did. There's nothing wrong with venting frustrations, nothing wrong with asking questions, but lets be honest, some of the comments in this thread alone, along with the rest of the forum have been anything but cordial and respectful in nature.

And next time, please don't take my comments on a message board to an extreme they don't need to go. Taking what I said and putting it into the context you did, isn't necessary. You could've easily brought about your argument without referencing the things you did to try and drive home a point.

so we should ignore dumb posts but then go behind the back and call said poster out? Wow

Here's an idea, discuss the patch. Why you are all bickering back and forth, I have no idea.

Ends now.

Furthermore, there's an ignore feature for a reason. If you don't want to read certain posters opinions, ignore them, problem solved.

I don't care about SCEA, or their 'feelings'. I enter into a consumer relationship with them, after that, its over. That very premise, rules out a sense of entitlement. I mean some of the arguments here about not being vocal when the game is obviously flawed, are mind boggling.

no wonder we have very little power as consumers any longer. hell, we buy cars from other countries that still understand how the game is played, because we obviously dont in this country.

"the game is good", so ****ing what. Its also broken. For me, not having an accurate schedule for my team, equals broken. Just as crashes and lineups. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops, unless advertised.
I'm glad you made this post.

Why? Because a large portion of you fail to realize that this is not the support forum for all issues MLB09:The Show.

There's a few developers here openly discussing their game on a 3rd party forum littered with a bunch of gamers, young and old, who love sports. Everyone here wants an answer to most of the questions posed, but in no way do you deserve an answer here at OS. Never.

If you have an issue with the way a company is handling something, take it up with the company.

I'd hate to lose the developer's presence because somehow a place where they used to hang out and talk about a game a large majority of us enjoy playing became a venue for consumer backlash when they felt they had been wronged.

Seriously, can we PLEASE just discuss the patch. No more bickering, complaining about other posters, etc.

That's not what this thread is for.

If this continues, infractions will be handed out, I don't care which side you are on.

You guys are right. I didn't help the cause or my own logic. For that I apologize. And CB, the second half of my long post was not directed solely at you - it was more of a general statement. I should have been more clear. And yes, my comparison was extreme but that's all that's happening around here right now. People are frustrated and blowing things out of proportion and that includes me. It's time to step away for a bit.

I keep seeing this complaint. People, Tejada has 85 at bats this season. 41 of them are hitting 2nd. Know your facts before you complain.

Yeah, I caught up AFTER I posted that.

Carry-on.

Glad you're alright R.

I had to restart my franchise yesterday after the patch. I think the problem is the added game for the Dodgers and Padres on April 9th. I looked at the schedule for both teams, and on the Dodgers page, it said the Dodgers won 1-0, but on the Padres page it said the Padres won 6-1. I was able to move through all of the screens fine, but when I simulated to see how long it would work, it crashed on April 29th. Luckily I was only 7 games in, so it was pretty easy to simulate and get back to the same record I had before.

# 597 countryboy @ 04/29/09 10:35 AM
So....is it 100% certain that deleting all save files and game data utility before downloading the patch will result in none of the issues thats been brought up?

I know Doc did something like this and I think a few others, but there's been so much said and so many different variations/opinions expressed that I was wondering.

# 598 callmetaternuts @ 04/29/09 10:35 AM
Has anyone still experienced the franchise crash, no replay or no flashback issue? Maybe it worked itself out already? Im getting ready to re-start my franchise (with the patch downloaded) and am a bit skeptical on if it will work. Im currently tweaking Knights rosters and dont want all that work to be for nada.

# 599 EWRMETS @ 04/29/09 10:38 AM
What are the new issues created by the patch if you start a new franchise with the most recent Sony rosters? I started a new franchise last night and didn't see any problems. (didn't check for the post replay show but I always skip that anyways.

Man that was well said. It's so true. I like this site because the guys/gamers around here help make the gaming experience better. And it's cool that the devs come to discuss it. ANYHOW

PATCH RELATED: My replays are now gone too??!! They were there my first 2 games or so after the patch but last night they were gone, sort of. The batter was there but no else LOL. The ball just kind of squiggled around the field as the replay played. LOL! I was bustin up.
Quite comical I must say.
