General:
  • AL and NL West (including Cubs) schedule addresses. Day games updated to correct time zone.
  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".
  • Career stats after going online and using weekly online Live Rosters or using the Online Roster Vault should now be correct.
  • Fixed issues with unbalanced trades when the rosters were full. 3 for 1 trades that will result in people being placed on waivers should now function.

Franchise Bugs

4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.
An attempt to fix in-game disconnect issues in the production community. This is in an effort to stop the dreaded traffic delay problem the the community is reporting.

Add me to the list of people that were looking forward to a tweak in the DH Fatigue, and a fix of the DL issue...I have 4 guys on the 60 Day DL and 3 on the 15 day...it's getting thin in here.
Quoting myself just for context:

Following those 2 games, I simmed 4 (because I don't play every game of every series) then I played my 3rd game since the patch.

I'm now getting the 'replay glitch'. The game went 11 innings and then showed no replays afterward. It did the "MLB '09" screen swipe, then went straight to the summary screen. When I tried to go back to the vault, I had no replays beyond the 7th inning and even when I did go in and look at them, there were no players on the field...the bat and ball were there though

I also suffered another major injury that has forced me to put my 5th guy on the 60 day DL...

My signature probably sums it up. But like BK said, and Pared, we've seen a big change in these forums this year, and it's too bad. We've made debate a sensitivity issue, lol. Sorry, but you fail to look at the big picture. Whether you care about the devs/SCEA and what they've done with us, for us, on these forums IS a big issue for many of us. There are issues with the game, but how we treat the people who have, for years, come to this forum and let us help make the best baseball game ever means a lot to many of us long time vets here.

I'll be a "loyalist" forever with the way some brave people sit at their keyboards and spew some of the stuff they do.
Amen.

I told you not to join the video game industry because it would damage your health but you didn't follow my advice (jk)

Glad you're ok.

I know you quoted Jack but figured I would chime in as well. Im using the stock game, no patches and having zero problems. The first patch was mainly online related and to the best of my knowledge had nothing to do with the offline gameplay at all.

Some people might being going a bit overboard with the wording of what they are saying but its comments like this that really irritate me. First off, OS is nowhere near going down the path of Gamefaqs as I go there every now and again and its night and day different so thats not even close to being the case. Secondly, if someone wants to use the patch and it causes their existing franchise to crash then why dont they have the right to be upset? Im irritated but I came to the conclusion that either Im going to have to get used to avoiding the patch at all costs or starting over. Im avoiding the patch with hopes that they will fix this eventually and all will be well again but at the same time I dont see anyone as a being a baby here either.

Just to throw something out there. I didnt find any of the problems prior to the patch as "game killing" anyways so I would have no reason to wait on the purchase as its not like anyone in their right mind could tell me ahead of time that a patch to fix the things that didnt even bother me in the first place would in turn screw up my franchise. Now Im crossing my fingers that they are going to figure out what the problem is and get it corrected but I also wanted to point out that waiting to buy a game until all the dust settles so to speak, doesnt always work out anyways.

started and simmed a franchise just to see what the lineups would look like. some arent too bad but the ROCKIES and the CUBS were the worst.

for the Cubs, Lee was batting 6th, Soriano was batting 4th.

for the Astros, Tejada was batting second.

TERRIBLE!

Some utterly embarrassing posts on here from the supposed mature OS community.

Get well soon Ramone

Booted out of the game for the first time ever since getting it on release day. Needless to say I deleted the patch immediately. That's one funky patch.

Gameplay still great however. I think we need a "little things" thread for the quirks and oddities that keep this from being a nearly perfect sim, so the developors can concentrate on fixing and only fixing this dev cycle.

Feel better Russell, thanks for all you do for the community. At least it wasn't the swine flu!

Online impressions post patch:

- No more postgame highlights. Very disappointing that a patch actually takes previous features away.

- Check swinging still next to impossible.

- Still can't hit and run. Very disappointing.

I can only hope that this will not be the last patch for this game.

Sad....purely and utterly sad. I'll never quite understand the sense of entitlement people feel they earn by simply buying a video game.

*goes back to playing the Show*

Entitlement is a two way street and people on both sides of this argument have gone overboard and are exagerating things.

Arguing over a video game is not sad. I see people constantly writing this on OS when they are disappointed with something. It's ridiculous imo. Kids dying of cancer is utterly sad. People dying in a war is utterly sad. People saying bad things about a game you like is not utterly sad.

I do find it funny that guys like to call out OS as going downhill and contribute to the very problem itself by throwing gas on the fire. You get long time posters, who do have a sense of entitlement, complaining about the state of OS and yet they talk down to new posters constantly and aren't respectful of other people's opinions either.

This is a message board! If people want to vent, so be it. If you don't like how they vent I guess you are entitled to complain about that. But if you aren't a mod, take the holier than thou attitude someplace else. That's what has annoyed me about the Show forums for awhile and is really the burr up some peoples' butts. I understand the need to self police threads but it goes overboard here. If you are really upset about terrible posts then flag them and have a mod handle it.

Lastly and most importantly, I'm glad Russell is OK.
