General:

  • Addressed CPU Pitcher Energy from always full when pressing the quick menu while batting.
  • Fixed the issue when in the bullpen moving from last pitcher (closer) to top pitcher, the top pitcher's stats stay the same as the closer.
  • Inning pitched count corrected for pitchers during spring training. This is in ALL SEASON Modes.
  • Fixed AUTO BASERUNNING. Users should no longer be able to control steels for you or CPU using L1 and L2 in any game at any time.
  • Fixed the Movie Recording feature in both Replay and Replay Vault. Users should no longer get stuck after multiple recordings.
  • Players names not being called correctly in the audio. One specific item was Beltran being called Delgado and vice versa. This line used to be erroneously said for Juan Rivera. It has now been corrected to play for Casey Kotchman. This line used to be erroneously said for David Ortiz. This line used to be erroneously said for Miguel Cabrera. It has now been "disabled".

4.Fixed a bug where the user controlled team would not receive compensation picks when they lose Type A and B freeagents.
5.Fixed bug not allowing farm directors to be hired or fired. Just load into a franchise and fire a farm director during the off-season.
6.Addressed a problem where the title loses simulating functionality in franchise mode when addressing online requests.

Online:
1.Addressed Free Agents in the Online league Live draft. They should now be placed on teams through Roster Update are usable on user’s teams. (Guys like Manny Ramirez or Adam Dunn should now be available.)
2.Fixed Message Board bug that result in no messages being shown after changing full pages.
3.Reduced online game bandwidth usage.
4.Made minor change to the League create screen to Randomize the Draft time to various 30 minute increments from 12noon from 8pm.

You have the glitch. He should have around 500 something homeruns.

Im not really seeing any issues with the patch right now. I downloaded it when it came out and the first game I played I didn't get post game highlights. I thought maybe I hit the x button too many times. The next game I played it was fine and got highlights during the game as well as post game. So I hope it was just a 1 time thing.

Played a great exhibition game last night with the Mets. It was 2-2 against the Reds until the bottom of the ninth. First batter to come up was Delgado.

First pitch is a high fastball in the strikezone. Delgado hits the damn ball in the same area where no real life Met has hit a homerun to yet.

Best part of it was seeing my teamates at home waiting to congratulate my virtual ***. Amazing!

I've given up on waiting for anything else to start a franchise. I'm going to use Knights Version 2 sliders thats not stock. I also added the real life entrance songs that are on this forum in the sounds of the game.

Playing with those sounds has made the game more awesome than I could imagine.

Its time to stop listening to all this negativity and just play the damn game. If it crashes, or if the rosters are misaligned (is that a real word?) so be it. I'll worry about it when it happens.

I am lucky, I had only gotten 11 games into my Rangers Franchise when they announced the patch. Since then I have restarted and am loving it more than the first time around!

now this may be a dumb question....but since i have no idea, and you guys have always helped me out...can you download the patch and put the files on a flash drive, then put it on the ps3?

Download the latest rosters from SCEA and the glitch is gone.

How is it going? Have you noticed any major issues? I'll be starting my franchise with the Mets.

For now I will be watching Don't Mess With The Zohan which isn't as awful as I thought it would be.

I know Doc did something like this and I think a few others, but there's been so much said and so many different variations/opinions expressed that I was wondering.
That's what I did (deleted Game Save Utility MLB file, and all of my Save files for MLB 09 and started over from scratch.) It then loaded the patch first, and then installed the game to the HDD all over again. I just decided I didn't want any old "corrupt" files to cause me problems. I will just wait to download Knights career stat glitch free roster and start a new franchise. In the meantime, I have edited a SCEA 4/27 roster mostly for the Chicago Cubs (MLB and all AAA done, see my thread in the roster section if you want it or want more details about it Cubs fans ). I am playing and having fun again.

I don't know if that (the reinstallation of patch and game) is the reason why or if I'm just lucky this time, but my replays work fine, and my franchises (new ones of course, using the SCEA 4/27 roster) have not crashed or anything. I have even simmed some through just to test, and no crashes. The games I have played have not crashed either. This is all with the Chicago Cubs so far.
The only crash I have had is twice when editing rosters. After I rebooted the PS3 completely, I have never had a problem again (knock on simulated computer wood).

I have been using my lineup fix workaround I posted with CPU roster control on, and the sim games are working out with the lineups staying correct. Unfortunately you have to set all the lineups AFTER spring training for this to work properly (simmed games that is), because the CPU jumbles the lineups after spring training again, so every new team I want to use as franchise, I will have to do this after spring training.
I have been "babysitting" all the lineups and rotations of every CPU team though to see if any of the lineups move (sim games by looking at the box scores) due to fatigue and the CPU then using its own logic to rearrange them (it hasn't so far, but it theoretically could and some people have claimed it has happened to them). Then I use the second controller to set the lineups for the teams I actually play against and move it back to CPU once the game starts. The CPU then plays as they normally do.

One guy is using the sportscast function and a second controller to set the lineups for ALL games and then simming. That is too much time and work for me, lol.

All of this is not ideal, but I can play now career stat glitch free, and lineups "correct" using stock SCEA pitchers and players by putting in this extra effort.

If anyone wants correct lineups with CPU roster control off, Knights lineup fix rosters are the only way to go right now that I know of, other wise you have to just live with what the CPU does. You will then have to live with the career stat glitch until he releases his new roster without it.

The other thing CPU roster controll off guys could do if they don't want the career stat glitch is use the SCEA 4/27 roster and edit the big players that are extremely out of order like Todd Helton, Grady Sizemore, A. Soriano, etc. using Knights attributes for reference. Then at least those guys won't be so glaringly out of lineup order. It's really the big ones like these that may matter a lot to the CPU roster control off guys because MLB managers change things around all the time anyway. Look at LaRussa. Good God! His lineups are different everyday. Funny thing is Tejada has batted second lately, and Jeter and Damon have switched, lol. Some of SCEAs logic seems fine, maybe its the attributes that are really off, I don't know. But, to each their own. That's why I use CPU roster control ON because I am a control freak, lol .

With the DL problem people have posted about, I suppose if you get too many injured players it will be a big problem. That is why I am not even contemplating using CPU roster control off this year for any of my Franchises/Seasons.

Keep your chins up and try to move forward in a mature constructive fashion everyone. Let's use this thread to try to help them find solutions to the problems and report on them for a possible fix or at least so that there will not be these problems again in next years game.

There is nothing wrong with opinions and constructive criticism either way, but bickering here just clutters the thread (this is not aimed at you Countryboy at all even those I quoted your post).

Glad you're doing well if you read this Russell.

I did notice not getting post game highlights the first game after the patch but the second game I played I saw all the highlights at the end of the game. I didnt restart my franchise after the patch since im already at June 1st. So I hope it is just a one time thing for me and not a common thing regarding the highlights and replays. Got my fingers crossed.

At this point I am just going to hold off on the patch. I am pretty deep in to my RTTS and over a month in to my franchise, and don't want to start over.

I thought the game played brilliantly pre-patch, so for now, I am just going to hold off until we hear from SCEA on what the deal is.

Unfortunately the patch can only be downloaded when the game is launched while being connected to the internet.

This will be a "just curious" question. If a majority of people buy "The Show" every year, why is the glitch that big of a deal.

The historical stat glitch?

Its a big deal to me because I'm big into stats.

Its just annoying more than anything. The game plays great on the field, but the it gets sketchy in other areas.

I would prefer to buy a sports game every 2 years or so. There is really no reason FOR ME to buy a game every year if the producers made the game glitch free.

I'm still playing College Hoops 2k8 as my BBall game of choice and have no problem with that.

LOL Good question, I get what you're saying. But some people like to take their franchises into numerous seasons and want to see records broke, and milestones, etc.. If A-rod has 200 HR's then he won't break the record till he's 50. For others (Im in this boat) I just want it to be right to the tune of his real stats. If I hit carrer 600 for A-rod I don't want them to say that "A-rod just hit carrer HR number 285, congrats A-rod your on your way to stardome" or somethig like that. LOL
