I have not started a franchise yet and have just been playing exhibition. If I update, will I be affected by all these new bugs? Or is it okay for me to update? There is no way I am reading through this whole thread to get an answer to my question. Thanks in advance!

I waited 3 weeks to contnue my RTTS which was jammed on 9/11/12, my fourth season and I find out I need to restart anyway. I am very pissed of all the wasted time I put into the game. I'm saving my season, hoping for another fix in the meantime. Anybody else find a way around this problem?

I hadn't downloaded the pathc yet and I accidently did a training option in september of 2014. well after a few games i got the dreaded patch. Well I immediately downloaded the patch and reloaded my save that crashed and I was allowed to move on. It didn't do me any good though I tore a hammy and went on the DL for the rest of the year while the Sox one another Championship without me.

I would suggest waiting for the SCEA response which could happen tomorrow if your really worried about the bugs. Based on reading most of the threads: there is not a 100% consensus on what is safe and what is not. Overall, it appears if you start post patch RTTS and franchises you are better off but then someone will claim they had an issue with new ones.

What i am personally going to do is just DL the latest SCEA roster and do a shortened season until they straighten the game out. Its not like a new patch would be out immediately and i really am tired of playing exhibition.

how does one delete the patch?

I have avoided the patch because I am ok with the issues the game currently has. I'd hate to bring new ones because of the patch. Not saying it will, but the reports have been highly inconsistent.

As Knight said, with Russell taking the time to tell a group of video game fanatics on a message board that he is in the ER and can't post the details... the patch is the least of my concerns. I know you didn't mean any harm but some of the comments here are either highly irresponsible and inconsiderate by some "adults" or just show the level of ignorance in some of our younger members.

Please don't follow suit. We will get word when we can.

Okay thanks. That's what I will do.

Single best post I have read in this massive thread, not pertaining to possible user end fixes.

I don't care about SCEA, or their 'feelings'. I enter into a consumer relationship with them, after that, its over. That very premise, rules out a sense of entitlement. I mean some of the arguments here about not being vocal when the game is obviously flawed, are mind boggling.

no wonder we have very little power as consumers any longer. hell, we buy cars from other countries that still understand how the game is played, because we obviously dont in this country.

"the game is good", so ****ing what. Its also broken. For me, not having an accurate schedule for my team, equals broken. Just as crashes and lineups. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops, unless advertised.

Are you talking about pressing R2 when you come up to bat? If so, that still works for me. Actually, I haven't had any problems post-patch, in my pre-existing franchise (using DET, btw.) - no freezes, boots, missing replays, or anything of the sort. I mentioned my team, because I don't think DET had any schedule adjustments. I am good with the patch...

If you bought a brand new car that was supposed to have leather seats, but when it showed up, you found out it had tweed seats, would you not be upset? Even if they told you the car runs great, you would be disappointed, and it would matter to you.

I agree with everybody that The Show is the best game of baseball around (although I might like 08 better than 09 actually), but I will never understand how having parts of the game that simply do not work is defensible. I'm not wishing that they would have done things differently with the game, or added things that aren't there. I just want the things that are there to work properly...for it to be a complete product. You guys throwing that "entitlement" argument around are so disillusioned it's sick. The "sony god" will not smite you if you show the slightest bit of disappointment in the game. It's ok. Really.
Except that every sports video game has glitches or errors. That is a given and has never been changed. Your analogy fails in many respects.

You have many avenues as a consumer to determine if the video game has errors that will effect your enjoyment or cause you to stop playing it. I think this is why you are on this message board no? One of those avenues is to fully researching a game before you buy it. You are buying a $60 video game. Not a $30,000 car. All of these issues have been on this board for a month if not more. If these were game breaking glitches to you, you shouldn't have bought it.

Now, they issued a patch and hopefully they will address what the patch messed up. If they don't, then I can understand a few being upset. Again, your car analogy fails. If they delivered the car with the wrong seat, you could be upset, but you have to give them the opportunity to fix it.

I agree. If I was SCEA, I would back away from this mess. People are a bunch of babies.

First post ever, long time lurker, I had to chime in on this one. I love, love, love the game. That being said there are many problems. This ends up taking away from MY enjoyment of the game..a game i might add only EXISTS for (my yours) enjoyment. SCEA is an entertainment company that only makes money if it entertains the consumer. I am no longer entertained, I have stopped playing my franchise because of glitches and now worry that if i turn the game on it will freeze. Those who say we are not entitled to a PERFECT game are right, what I am entitled to is ENTERTAINMENT, and if I am no longer entertained then SCEA has failed. The basic mantra in ANY business is to satisfy the customer, and to give them confidence in your product, are you satisfied that a very well paid company put out an inferior product that they obviously DID NOT test properly?? Are you confident in that you can play an entire franchise or season or RTTS wihout complications...I am not.

I had a car in college that was recalled for a simple windshield wiper motor failure ( It had never failed me), what that car company did was to recall every model they could, had them brought to a local dealership where they were fixed at no cost to me. They acknowledged their mistake and rectified it. They even sent a gas card as an apology for the inconvenience. Three years later i got a new job and a pretty healthy raise.. I wanted a new car What car do you think I bought ??

Again, your car analogy assumes that SCEA is not going to fix the things the patch messed up. The problems with the patch are creating an inconvenience for you, just like when you had to spend time to go to the car dealership to drop of your car for the day so they could fix it.

i understand that nobody should ever be a jerk to the devs who come here to help but just because they do does not mean that we must turn a blind eye and just wait till next year or perhaps hope for another patch a month later.

the game does not deliver on things it advertise to boost sales. why is it that all other sports games get heavily bashed but people who get upset that the show has issues that affect them they are being childish

is not right to call upset customers who also paid their money and the issues that dont bother u might bother others.

i take exception to those that tell me or others to get over it and just ebay the game...
pretty much. You are the only one to blame for buying a sports video game on release day and then crying when it doesn't work right. Name one sports video game that hasn't had bugs or glitches. I dare you...

# 559 choadler @ 04/29/09 02:30 AM
I have been playing video games for 30 years now. I have learned my lesson in regards to them. You better do your research because you will get burned. I waited for a good 2 to 3 weeks and the majority of the glitches were found before I made that decision. For all of you people that love the car analogies, do you not read up about the car and find out what others have to say about it first? If you don't, then you have only you to blame.

Not at all. But obviously you are very rigid in your demands for a video game. So based on that, you should probably wait to buy it so that you do not waste your money.

And it has nothing to do with whether companies like me or not. I am the consumer. I make sure I make good buying decision. Companies love you, because you are an impulse buyer.
