I have a small issue that I did not have before the patch. i can no longer see the previous at bat in the batter analysis. I realize this seems small but it helps me to not pitch a hitter a certain way all game.
Am I the only one who no longer sees this?

Hope you're doing well. Take care and feel free to PM me if you have any general medical questions.

Pared, you are a well respected person around these parts. That said, what is your take on this "patch"? Did you download it and are you playing with it?

Yeah it's a great game but the patch has been frustrating. I deleted the patch and am not having problems.

I was going to try to find some workarounds for the franchise / rtts freeze tonight but I just got home and I'm not sure I want to be bothered right now - kinda just want to play.

Pared you nailed it.

There are problems but the complaining and sense of entitlement on this site sometimes keeps me away. The best baseball game ever.

For everyone wondering if they will need to restart RTTS I'm 99% you will have to unless RUSSELL comes back saying they have yet another patch to release.

I was in August (first year in the bigs) in my RTTS waiting for the patch. DL'd it last night, made my way past August today into September and BAM, XMB screen here I come.

Yup, I ended up deleting everything MLB 09 related. Reinstalled and started from scratch.

As I guy who has worked in the software industry for over 10 years, I would suggest that the chances are fairly good that SCEA has a sustaining team (with developers and QA people) that work on fixing bugs and providing patches.

There is another group of developers that is probably already working on MLB 10 as we speak. The fixes that they put into a patch are then merged into the main line code for the next release.

At least that is how it has played out at the companies that I have worked at. So I'm holding out hope that another patch may be forthcoming....

Without trying to justify these issues in any way, sometimes when you add new features you unintentionally break existing features. it happens all the time. Unfortunately, the issues should have been caught in the QA process assuming that they have test cases that cover all the basic scenarios. Again, I going off my personal experiences. I can't speak to the processes in place at SCEA.

Only my opinion, but I think SCEA will come out with another patch. I am amazed as anyone that it seems they didn't thoroughly "test" any of their intended fixes in this patch. I think now that they have a list of what they attempted to fix...they can dedicate some more time to make sure all of that works. As mentioned in an earlier post...they have developers working on '10, but they also should have folks dedicated to bugs/fixes for '09 and '10. At this point they know they need to allocate resources to fix the state of this game (at least I hope). I think Russell is going to give us news soon that they are going to put the patch back into fixing and testing. At this point, though, it would be wise for them to push 1.01 back out to us until this is officially accomplished. Just my two cents!

I hope everything is alright with Russell, or whoever it is thats caused him to be at the ER.

I would suggest that anyone wanting to use their previous franchise just avoid the patch altogether and just get used to pressing "o" at the screen everytime you boot up the game. I have to believe that eventually they will fix this, maybe they scrap the schedule fix or they figure out a way where it doesnt effect franchises that are already being played but using the patch isnt an option for me at this point unfortunately.

Good advice Mike. I deleted the patch and have been enjoying my two franchises to the max today. I really enjoy playing this game.

I just completed the June draft in the second year of my franchise and the patch did fix the scouting glitch. All feedback for all scouted players is now included.

What version are you on 1.00 (the version that came with the game) or did you by chance get 1.01 (the version before 1.06)? Thanks.

I agree, I hope for the best with Russell. As far as the patch, I play manage only mode and I haven't seen any problems so far since downloading the patch. What problems are arising?

# 539 JohnnyRu31 @ 04/29/09 12:07 AM
I haven't had any problems with my franchise( knocking on wood ) so far with the patch. The only problem I have seen so far is I no longer get post game highlights. I'm 60 games in and I have played two post patch games. Should I be confident or am I eventually gonna get screwed?

# 540 rudyjuly2 @ 04/29/09 12:10 AM
Hopefully Russell is OK.
