As I guy who has worked in the software industry for over 10 years, I would suggest that the chances are fairly good that SCEA has a sustaining team (with developers and QA people) that work on fixing bugs and providing patches.

There is another group of developers that is probably already working on MLB 10 as we speak. The fixes that they put into a patch are then merged into the main line code for the next release.

At least that is how it has played out at the companies that I have worked at. So I'm holding out hope that another patch may be forthcoming....

I would hope so but then why are there bugs in the game that have been absent in previous years?

Without trying to justify these issues in any way, sometimes when you add new features you unintentionally break existing features. it happens all the time. Unfortunately, the issues should have been caught in the QA process assuming that they have test cases that cover all the basic scenarios. Again, I going off my personal experiences. I can't speak to the processes in place at SCEA.

I think most can assume this DID NOT happen. Basic issues that would have been caught by a halfway decent QA department plaque the game. CPU roster control and historical stat glitches just to name the main ones. Features that should have been found if anyone played RTTS or Franchise just a little bit.

I dunno, I am just really disappointed right now.

Only my opinion, but I think SCEA will come out with another patch. I am amazed as anyone that it seems they didn't thoroughly "test" any of their intended fixes in this patch. I think now that they have a list of what they attempted to fix...they can dedicate some more time to make sure all of that works. As mentioned in an earlier post...they have developers working on '10, but they also should have folks dedicated to bugs/fixes for '09 and '10. At this point they know they need to allocate resources to fix the state of this game (at least I hope). I think Russell is going to give us news soon that they are going to put the patch back into fixing and testing. At this point, though, it would be wise for them to push 1.01 back out to us until this is officially accomplished. Just my two cents!

I hope everything is alright with Russell, or whoever it is thats caused him to be at the ER.

I would suggest that anyone wanting to use their previous franchise just avoid the patch altogether and just get used to pressing "o" at the screen everytime you boot up the game. I have to believe that eventually they will fix this, maybe they scrap the schedule fix or they figure out a way where it doesnt effect franchises that are already being played but using the patch isnt an option for me at this point unfortunately.

Good advice Mike. I deleted the patch and have been enjoying my two franchises to the max today. I really enjoy playing this game.
