What I liked:

*I saw an interesting pre-play camera.

*I saw a much-improved post-play camera

*The QB was walking to the line!!! Walking!!! Yes!!! YES!!! Although I did see him hitch for a second and jog a step or two once, but it's a very strong outing nonetheless.

What I didn't like:

*I don't like the playcall screen. It defeats or at least diminishes the goal--or what should be the goal--of having continuous post-play action showing, because the plays are covering a good portion of the picture window. The plays being set Left-vertical with the picture window taking over the rest of the screen would've been the best use of space and would've been more attractive because the main picture would've never been obstructed.

I also don't like the idea of not being able to easily toggle to stats and stat cards like 09 had. The PIP window from 09 just needed to be bigger, it didn't need to be eliminated completely. The concept was solid. This "new" playcall screen to me is a step backwards as we now have less options on top of having an obstructed view

... this playcall setup is from the PS2 days, and it should've stayed there... it was in the past for a reason... it's outdated for all the reasons I just pointed out.

*Tom Hammond sounded terrible from that little soundbite. That line "he goes for it all" sounds off, and just the way he read it sounds off. I got a chance to chat with Ian about the scripts and all I'll say is this; They should really hit me up on this one... I could write some far better stuff (and I do have some noteworthy writing credentials by the way)... I'm just putting it out there...

Alright. I didn't know that was exceptable for any difficulty in the game. My mistake.

Let me build on it a little bit. There was an issue when we were there where the DEs weren't getting off their blocks when the QB got out of the pocket. That could explain the success of the long dropback. I know Ian is aware of it and I know they intend to fix it... it's possible it hasn't been hit yet, which could be another part of the problem.

If this works out well, him dropping back like that'll get him sacked.

What I liked

DB not jumping 10 feet in the air. Even on rookie that happened last year
Pocket
Hole opening up
WR accelerate for ball
Pretty pass to get the TD
Graphics and field looked nice
Presentation

Bad

"He airs it down the fieeld"

I cannot help but laugh and cry watching that. After all these months of "sim" talk and a nub like Jimmy Fallon does that right out of the box. If I were Phill and Ian I would be embarassed, but he played it cool. I don't really care if it was on rookie. It was 4th and long and a crap QB thrown into double coverage. On rookie mode Jimmy fallon really must have played poorly to even get a 4th down and to let weaksauce like that get him out of a hole was sorry. That was depressingto see. The interactions looked nice though.

That was my initial thought. As he was dropping back I thought " his @ss is toast". Then Boom, Jimmy lands a long bomb off his back foot.

Alright, thanks for clearing it up man.

That was amazing. I'm sure that was on rookie though. This game looks light-years ahead of 09.... I can't wait.

Also, I have a question for the CD guys....Adem if you're reading this, was there any kind of "scripting" or "writing" on the screen when you guys played the alpha build?

I was watching the Jimmy Fallon vid, and right around the time of the penalty call by the ref, I caught some white writing on the left side of the screen, almost like codes. Was this in your build? Did anyone else catch that?

This worries me also. Dropping back and throwing off your back foot should be affected on any level.

Even on rookie for the casuals? I don't agree with that.

I like this vid alot better than the trailer. The trailer showed us alot of new stuff, but the jimmy fallon vid showed us real time gameplay which we as hardcore gamers all want.

Although it was on rookie or pro(more than likely), it made the game look alot better than a fast paced trailer to me anyway. But I guess thats what they have to do to grab other folks attention.
