After watching a couple of highlights of willie parker and watching him break out of the two man tackle...My issue isnt with the fact that he broke free but its with the fact that the Defense didnt start to tackle him lower. IRL, if you try and take a RB from up top its a heck of a lot harder then taking his legs out from him. The entire gang tackle looked like it was top heavy and the player fell from the top to the ground. It almost looks like the chest and maybe the waist are the target the defense is trying to grab onto.

I am not saying this is bad because I obviously have yet to play the game and will wait till the demo to say some more if its over/under done. Even then only after playing the game for hours will I have a correct opinion about it.

well I look at it this way the "haters" are like a dog that has been beaten....they don't think anybody(EA) can change so they are scared to accept love(Changing for them) so they will just be scared and run away(post badly about) until they know for sure they can trust humans again(EA)....

How can you not be negative after seeing that trailer? Some people may like it, and that's fine. But most people have to really wonder about this game's future after seeing Madden NFL 09...part 2...

I can't wait to see Ian's reaction to this thread.
First of all there are no rights in this forum

I am a moderator and handling my job. I dont play football games and have no interest in any football but anyone on this forum continually trolling will be banned from the Madden forums quickly.

You should stop giving out bad advice to other posters

One of the most ignorant posts ive read.

You likely got infractions for violating the TOS that you agreed to.

Speak whatever, as long as you abide by the TOS but break it and the rules ensue.

This site is governed by a set of rules that you agree to abide by when you sign up to be a member. It is called the Terms Of Service or TOS. The TOS strictly prohibits "trolling." If you don't know what "trolling" is, then here is the definition set forth by Operation Sports. Flaming, Bashing, and Trolling
Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the Operation Sports boards. Treat others on these message boards as you would expect them to treat you. Talking trash about another user is a quick way to earn a banning, as is posting topics and responses specifically to provoke a negative response (aka trolling).

As far as your "pro EA-Madden agenda" theory is concerned, There was not one Mod or Admin on this site who was happy with Madden 09, and especially the previous next-gen iterations.

I know its hard for some of you believe, but we, the mods, are normal people like you, who want the best from sports games. We don't get a hard-on by handing out infractions because you don't like Madden.

With this said, I am going to bed. Good night, and good luck with this train wreck of tread everyone!

Oh please...

How can you make such a statement when that trailer only showed a glimpse of what's new.

Like there's nothing wrong about stating that you were disappointed in the trailer but when people say jabs like that you can tell who is posting constructive criticism and who is just bashing since there's no need to say things like that...

So tell me what I did that got me an infraction? Even Ian himself said it would get dissected and he even had cringing moments so why the infraction? I answered a different person's post every time so how is this trolling?

You know exactly why you have an infraction, and there is no tolerance for it

Future advice for you would be to avoid the look at me posts and size 54 font ending with !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after NO SALE in caps

Abide by the TOS and you'll be fine. 2 more infractions and you are automatically taking a trip to the cell

My breakdown of the negatives from the video which I must say was a huge disappointment.

1. OL/DL still needs a lot of work. Where are the double teams? Why do the linemen look lost? There NEEDS to be double teams for the 3-4 to ever work correctly. Why don't the lost linemen help out a fellow lineman. BOOM two problems solved! No more lost linemen and double teams.
Lost linemen!

63 on Cards was the most lost of them all. Maybe he just has low awareness?

There has to be a double team on Casey Hampton!

A return of an ugly animation and 325 Hampton in the air! I think 75's neck must have snapped! Also I am pretty sure this is totally
unrealistic.
2. Throwing animations really don't look improved and still look quite bad.
The whole Ben Roethlisberger really epitomized this.

3. I guess we still don't have realistic player locomotion and phsyics
Players can still unrealistically turn on a dime

So much separation!

Now he's running away from the man he is suppose to be covering!

Then BOOM! Once the ball is thrown he is magically facing the correct way again and running with his receiver! How did he do that? Is he super human?

Holmes looking for someone to block... finds him and...

BOOM turns around on a dime!
4. Running animations still don't look that fluid.

Pictures can't really show this but ya...
5. Other random observations

CB is not looking at the ball

I've always felt as if the break-tackle animations are the defenders letting go instead of the ball carrier breaking through.

I am pretty sure this is a double team in man coverage and why are the defenders not looking at Fitz? Is that how he got so much separation?

That whole sequence right there reminded me of the coverage from M09 which is not a good thing. Also, the running animations still look bad.

Hopefully Ian can read all the feedback from this thread and try to do as much as possible! This video was quite discouraging

maybe i'm too hard to please.....maybe i'm not being realistic.....maybe i don't understand how hard it is to develop a football game....all i know is this:

In 2005 two of the best football games ever made were Madden 05 and NFL 2k5.All Madden needed to go from current to next gen was some kick ^ss graphics and added gameplay. 4 years inot next gen,it Madden is still not holding a candle to 2 games on an old, less powerful console.
Not hating, because I want to see the glory of Madden restored, but I saw nothing in that trailler that gave me hope.Hopefully, there is more we've yet to see...but I am tired of HOPE.....i use that word every year in regards to the Madden franchise....

Overall this was a Love/Hate trailer for me, While I was underwhelmed I'm not one to complain about running animations and such. Ofcourse I want all of that stuff to be great but I don't consider myself a perfectionist.

One thing that does bother me which obviously may not be a issue because this was obviously a trailer that MEANT to show this but the broken tackles, I don't know if the situation in which he broke the tackle, Or whatever it was, That is what made me cringe.

Overall, Between Adem and Kane saying the game was better live I'll reserve judgement, Or atleast until Ian shows his face in here again and respond to the perfectionist, Im wondering if he's a little scared to come in here, I'm pretty sure he knows whats coming

Edit: So after watching it over 3-4 more times, It really is nice, And the progress is noticable

OK so now that I know what Trolling is can you explain to me where I was bashing a flaming any person on these boards?????

Ian himself said he was ready for the critique of the trailer and IMO it was horrible.

If you think about it this way as I do since I manage a large company that if I was going to put out a trailer it would show the best I have to offer. With that said I expected to be blown away and I was disgusted. If that is the best ( Thinking they would only show their best ) than I am pissed that I have wasted this much time on this game and communication to try and be 1 of the people trying to help make this game better.

If this is trolling than I should stop posting on this board or forum.

Oh how true some of that is, i think the new gang tackling almost looks good but i dont like the way they all step really quickly, it just doesnt look quite right. I know it happens in real life sometimes but like ^ said, looks like they let go, never see willie parker break out of a two man tackle

that is a cowards way out of insulting someone, if you insult a persons opinion that they hold strongly than you are insulting a part of them...

Unfortunately for Ian and his team their blog's generated so much hype and excitement that Madden NFL 10 will never live up to expectations.

I did however see some nice touches in the trailer, but won't pass final judgement untill I've seen a proper play by play gameplay movie.

Dissapointingly, running animations and throwing animations still looks terrible. DL/OL gameplay seems just as useless as in the past. Overall, it seems as if it can be better than previous installments of Madden, but I can't help to feel dissapointed, I expected something far better, especially after all the blog's I've read. It still seems way to much like previous installments, and the improvements aren't as radicall as stated by Ian, and only seem to be minor. Hopefully we will have a decent gameplay movie soon and not a show off trailer.
