We have been spoiled with this trailer. Just look at last years trailers and see how LITTLE gameplay was shown in the past.

What the f*ck else are we suppose to go off of. I'll agree that Ian and team are doing this the right way (by interacting) but I'm not about to crown them by what I saw.

Overall I liked what I saw.

Yeah...I was hoping to see smoother more fluid animations.

That's the thing though it wasn't that bad IMO. I saw some things I didn't like, but I'm not gonna throw out everything that has been posted and said by devs and OS posters who's opinions I trust. It definitely wasn't as bad as you're making it out to be, at least IMO.

But they did put out a video of straight gameplay that clocked in at over a minute in April last year as well. And I'd venture to say that the video released on April 29, 2008 wasn't easily distinguishable from the final product.

That's not to say I totally hated the trailer, definitely some cool stuff in there. It just didn't meet my lofty expectations.

Of for god's sake, everyone stop telling everyone their opinion is invalid, please? If people are going to write off the game because of a bad running animation, fine. If people are going to assume it's the greatest game of all time because a tackle threw an end to the ground, let 'em... no point turning it into a flame war because you have a different opinion.

I have an opinion! I loved the game. Absolutely loved it. Not impressed with the trailer. So take from that what you will.

The running animation that Kane says he doesn't remember, I do, because I was disappointed to see it. But, honestly, the players spend so little time IN that animation, I stopped noticing. So it's a too way street. Animation's still there, but there are more animations (this trailer, as all trailers do, is done like a highlight reel, so the only times you see a guy running is when he's making a huge play or breaking 50 tackles or whatever).

hahaha first of all i think that this game will be light years better than '09... i think they have made some great improvements... i was getting really annoyed with the gang-tackling last year when i would fly in with a safety and nail someone but their animation was playing from breaking a different tackle and it did nothing... so this trailer did give me hope that there will be some much needed improvements...

That being said... you have some valid points as well... IT DID NOT LOOK FLUID AT ALL.
