In this game, is the strike zone fixed for everyone? If so, thats not good at all.
No it is not. It is on the height and stance of each batter.

Dont know, but I do know crouched players (stance) have a smaller strike zone than a guy they are the "same listed height" as, who has a more upright stance.

Just as it should be.

Are the jumbotron screens animated? As I'm not seeing anything in the demo during replays, as it just has the phillies and TB logo's on it. Sorry if this has been asked did a search and didn't come up with anything.

My only complaint about the demo is that you cant make substitutions. I have had numerous situations where I needed to pinch-hit for the pitcher (runner in scoring position, 2 outs, 6th-7th inning) and havnt been able to (But the other team can!!!).

In real life, a batter gets a significant advantage og correctly guessing the pitch. Improves the timing aspect....imagine if they guess pitch AND location....big big advantage.
Quote #1 - Don't worry about the substitutions because they perposely dont give us a full game with full features so we are ore tempted to buy the real game thas the only reason I mean its only 4 innings, in a real game you would need to substitute your pitcher or anyone else unless they were thrown out or your getting ur but kicked. (in the demo if someone is kicked out your can substitute someone else in so dont worr)

Quite #2 - Yes when the game comes out there will be 100% gubotron annimations or at least have the players face, stats etc whos batting up there.

Quote #3 - What i was saying guys was the reason I dont use guess pitch or strike zone or hot zone is because I dont use it in real life as I am on varsity baseball. I have never had a little box screen with colored red and blue for my hot zones and where its a ball and a strike. For guess pitching lets say i guess the pitch right in real life where is my extra un-natural boost?

In real life you never get one only an extra sense of knowing that the pitch was coming so you have that small advantage factor of being ready a little more and thats what I love so thats why I also dont use API. Yes ApI is there for the catcher and the game to help you but thats doesnt mean they are right. Your putting your decisions in the computers hands. When you pitching your actually the catcher and telling the pitcher where to throw it and how hard to throw it. So there is no need for someone else telling me where to pitch it. I played catcher all my life until i converted to a OF a couple years back and am now a CF. API is the computer THINKING they know where to throw it better than you do (maybe they do because they know how the batters approach is going to be but in a real life you dont have that)

Same here, really worries me and don't understand why they had to change that. In 08 it was just about right.

I don't think they did.
I don't remember it being as much as the demo at the Community Day Event.

Really dumb question but I have the biggest bitch of a problem when it comes down DL'ing demos on my PS3.

When does the demo actually start DLing? I click the option to DL the demo, then it takes me to some screen that has a blue background with an orange bar that says "Click to Download" so I click that again, then select 'perform in background' or whatever.

Then I go to my Download Management section and there are three different versions of the demo trying to be DL'd and none of them are working.

LOL, I am ********.

Felt the same to me, honestly. Aside from the abnormalities guys are mentioning (slowdown of OF on ground balls) I feel the demo is a solid representation of what we experience in the build we played.

Animations kicked in when the ball was in the air and that's how I know I am "in position" to make a catch.

Personally, it doesn't bother me.

I was speaking of the "slowdown" that happens on certain plays.
It's not the catch animation.
I had it happen a couple of times and it's strange....like all of a sudden he's running in mud.....and I either miss the ball(not getting to the zone...or he makes a catch.
I just don't remember it at the event...
I don't know if it's because I didn't play enough to see it.

I actually got three downloads myself!
I thought that was wierd.
Anyway..when you get to that screen that asks if you want it to download in the background...there should be a % bar...
You should be downloading then...it could be slow though.

No, wasn't in the build we played. It's in the demo.

I'm not worried about it. Wasn't an issue for us.

I know what your talking about. Its not goign to be in the finished product on in the demo since its a month old chew toy of the developers. I had victorino running for a ball i nthe left center gap and he caught it on the trakc next play i threw it right down the middle to see what would happen and upton hit it to the right center gap when i had victorino he ran like he got tired stared joggign and a MAYBE double turned into a triple. No worries for me it will be fixed

I tried the demo this weekend & its pretty solid just like it has been every year. I didnt get tons of singles in the 2 times I played like I was able to in previous years. Lighting is extremely nice as are the graphics. The crowd noise is really good. The team did a really good job on it.

I know what the real rule is, but in this game I know there are tall players with crouched stances that make their stances reach their letters, which is the same as a tall player with a high stance, reaching his belly button (which I much prefer).

Are you guys tryign to figure out how to change it or are you just talking bout how the developers decide?

I dont think it really matters. Just hold R2 for a sec to see the strike zone if you have it off. I dont ean to be preaching to the choir

You guys(meaning all of you ...not just you Houtz )....mean you are BEATING Legend mode.....
You can finish the other 5 innings when the game drops!
(except you guys that went at least 9.)

lol i dont mean to burst anyones bubble but i dont know why people are makign it sound like Legent is unbeatable. HOF last year was mediocre and this year Legend is just challengable which is good and I sure cant wait for those sliders to be used to change it. I threw the ball right down the middle every time and i won on legen, no strike one or hot zone or guess pitch or API like 4-1. I didnt mean it to sound like i was sayign ohh look at e i just saying Legend is highly beatable but it is also challenging im just waiting for your sliders Knight
