Dont know, but I do know crouched players (stance) have a smaller strike zone than a guy they are the "same listed height" as, who has a more upright stance.

Just as it should be.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I hope for next year or in a future patch SCEA can fix the canned animation fielding in the outfield for fly outs..

Is one thing for it to have a nice animation but does it have to start so damm early..

I have just lost a game where the bases were loaded and Howard hits a fly ball to center field and there are 2 outs

my center fielder goes into his canned animation to catch the ball early as hell like usual and i lose control of him then i see the ball is about to land a few feet to his left and i try and shake out of the animation to catch the easy fly ball annd he is just there stuck in the animation and the ball drops and he goes jogging slowly to get it and i lose the game...

it has happend 3 times already....I hate when there is a foul pop up towards the stands...i have my left fielder running full speed to get it and then all of a sudden canned animation comes in and he starts jogging slowly to make a simple looking catch...looked so damm generic..

i am cool with having the catch animation but do it when the ball is about to hit the glove...not way before and have us lose control of the fielder..

and there was 2mph wind in that game so it was not the wind....

also when the hitter hits a ball in between the second baseman and first baseman the second baseman goes to get it and so does the first baseman and the first baseman realizes that he now has to cover first and he jogs towards first a bit and then stops and stands there and i have nobody to throw to first....little things like that are hampered by the canned animations...

that right now is the only major grip i have with the game.....

Are the jumbotron screens animated? As I'm not seeing anything in the demo during replays, as it just has the phillies and TB logo's on it. Sorry if this has been asked did a search and didn't come up with anything.

My only complaint about the demo is that you cant make substitutions. I have had numerous situations where I needed to pinch-hit for the pitcher (runner in scoring position, 2 outs, 6th-7th inning) and havnt been able to (But the other team can!!!).

In real life, a batter gets a significant advantage og correctly guessing the pitch. Improves the timing aspect....imagine if they guess pitch AND location....big big advantage.
Quote #1 - Don't worry about the substitutions because they perposely dont give us a full game with full features so we are ore tempted to buy the real game thas the only reason I mean its only 4 innings, in a real game you would need to substitute your pitcher or anyone else unless they were thrown out or your getting ur but kicked. (in the demo if someone is kicked out your can substitute someone else in so dont worr)

Quite #2 - Yes when the game comes out there will be 100% gubotron annimations or at least have the players face, stats etc whos batting up there.

Quote #3 - What i was saying guys was the reason I dont use guess pitch or strike zone or hot zone is because I dont use it in real life as I am on varsity baseball. I have never had a little box screen with colored red and blue for my hot zones and where its a ball and a strike. For guess pitching lets say i guess the pitch right in real life where is my extra un-natural boost?

In real life you never get one only an extra sense of knowing that the pitch was coming so you have that small advantage factor of being ready a little more and thats what I love so thats why I also dont use API. Yes ApI is there for the catcher and the game to help you but thats doesnt mean they are right. Your putting your decisions in the computers hands. When you pitching your actually the catcher and telling the pitcher where to throw it and how hard to throw it. So there is no need for someone else telling me where to pitch it. I played catcher all my life until i converted to a OF a couple years back and am now a CF. API is the computer THINKING they know where to throw it better than you do (maybe they do because they know how the batters approach is going to be but in a real life you dont have that)

Same here, really worries me and don't understand why they had to change that. In 08 it was just about right.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Really dumb question but I have the biggest bitch of a problem when it comes down DL'ing demos on my PS3.

When does the demo actually start DLing? I click the option to DL the demo, then it takes me to some screen that has a blue background with an orange bar that says "Click to Download" so I click that again, then select 'perform in background' or whatever.

Then I go to my Download Management section and there are three different versions of the demo trying to be DL'd and none of them are working.

LOL, I am ********.
