[quote=CubbyFan23;2039157844]I'm not really sure why people are getting worked up over others commenting on the framerate. One big reason for the demo was to find any potential issues for the release if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure why people are acting like someone thinking there's framerate issues is like slapping their child.
I think that's the difference betwen a beta and a demo. A demo is designed to get people interested in a game. A beta is designed to have people report flaws they find that the dev may not see, and then there is time to address it.
It is possible that they plan to address the issue, if there is an issue either prior to release, or possibly down the road a bit as a dloadable patch.Bear in mind that one possible explanation for the framerate issue might not be the software. No matter how great you think your new HDTV is, some don't process fast enough for game speed. In this case, I would It is the TV's that are the issue. There aren't any issues until a ball is thrown, or a bat is swung. Nothing else is effected before, after, or during those motions... their framerate remains the same.
I own a high end set myself. I turn on "game" mode which speeds up the processor. I get the issue. Without that mode, everything is laggy on my set. Here's the thing though... during a real baseball game if I turn my 120HZ features to full.. there are points the ball disappears and re-appears, however I can see the player and everything else normally. If I keep it normal, it's fine, but isn't as sharp.
Some televisions are set to compensate for object movement which isn't consistant with the framerates of objects around them. The TV's processors get confused by this, and jitter or eliminate the object. My guess is that unless more coding is added to compensate for every television out there, this issue will continue to exist.
As for why this didn't happen for people w/ '08?? 1) could be the early build 2) could be a conflict between your TV's processing speeds when the ball is pitched and the bat is swung 3) could be a semi-messed up dload. 4)???? who knows.Wait until the game comes out, buy it, find out then. If it's enough of an issue, return the game or complain to SCEA support or MLB The Show support teams.

I'm not implying anything there are many factors that could be leading to the issues some are having. But the finished version of the game does not have frame rate issues at all.

The framerate dip people are noticing has nothing to do with "input lag".
If you have a 1080p TV, you can get the same "smooth look" by just un-checking your 720p option in your PS3 so the PS3 forces it to go in 1080p. Then you will be running at 30FPS and not 60, so it may be less noticeable, or wont even dip at all since it is already less than 60 FPS.
Input lag is something totally different, and has to do with timing or twitch based online games. Nothing to do with framerate dips some are seeing.

I don't know about anyone else, but the 1st base ump's name is the best name I have ever heard! "Porter Callahan," I think I will make a RTTS character with this name, that is how much I love it.

I just went 12 innings and I couldn"t change pitchers. I couldn't even pitch hit anyone either. Tampa Bay won 1-0 They relieved Kazmir with J.P. Howell and then Joe Nelson.
They also pitch hitted too with Gabe Kapler, and Willie Aybar too. They also brought Shawn Riggans in too for fielding. Not fair LOL
Can't wait to get the full game.

Overall, the game has more polish than '08. The nice thing is that the controls are familiar, meaning SCEA didn't try to over-innovate.
The new pitching meter, again, is the same but poses a greater challenge which is excellent for veterans....
The visuals, animations and presentation are outstanding. Although this demo is not the finished product, it provides a great feel for what is coming...This game is a must have...
