NCAA Football 10 News Post

Our pre-release info plan is being put together. We are going to be taking the same approach as Madden by announcing something each week, as opposed to announcing everything all at once like on NCAA Football 09.

Officially it starts today and it is... drumroll... Procedural Awareness.

Most of you have probably read about it on the Madden Forum, but here is a link: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-nfl-10-a.html

Ok, so nothing new and exciting yet. But I wanted to at least let you guys know that the news will start rolling in this month all the way up to a few weeks before the game hits shelves. So hang tight and check weekly.

I think everybody is missing the main idea here.

IN-GAME SAVES

is what it is going to be.

I really, really, really hope you are right. But I just don't think so this year.

In game saves would be nice to have. Who knows?

Yes..in-game saves. Yet another feature from like PSOne that we'd be resurrecting. I don't know why this is so difficult to put in, but I'm guessing it must be a big pain in the ***.

Dude, is it alternate jerseys for Mascot Games?!?!?!?!

I'm kidding. I'm actually really excited. I am going to just go ahead and assume that this post means we will get DII teams back

I hope the play clock is right and all of the stadiums make it into the game.

I really hope that the defense is improved to the point where we can make routine stops online. Too many games come down to a single turnover... or whoever scores last. I want some 10-7 games.

I am pretty sure about this.

If it is not IN-GAME SAVES then it will have to be players raising overall. Maybe they will add some off season conditioning to make the players better. It sucks having a Freshman HB (5*) with a rating of 91, not being able to start until they are a Senior because you have a Sophomore HB at a rating of 92. Maybe we will get some training things like MADDEN 07 had in their franchise for 07.

IDK

Please put Auto Passing (at least - full blown coach mode would be great) in PS3 version like last gen

In-game saving is a feature that is so long overdue with the way in which we play these games now.

How does that suck? If you got a better RB use him who cares if he was a 5 star in high school.

Wrong. It drastically changes gameplay.

Madden announced a new rating system that would look even better in NCAA IMO....

I just hope they get it right so we can really see differences between player types!

Are you sure? I thought it was already said that the players are going to do the exact same thing as in last years game, except their heads will be turned to be looking at the ball.

I don't think this procedural awareness changes AI. I think it just changes where they are looking. Which does not sound right... but that is what I have got from this thread so far. Please correct me if I'm wrong. ( I would love to be wrong on this )

Yes, you are wrong. Players will no longer be able to react to events that are not in their line of sight. The impact on WR/DB interaction should be huge and defensive awareness should be greatly reduced in situations where the player is not looking at the ball. For example, we shouldn't see players making 180 degree spins in the air to catch an INT.

Obviously the devs will need to change/remove/add animations to make this work properly and I have my doubts about how well this will be done. Still, this was a much needed change to gameplay that many of us asked for in the past.
