NCAA Football 10 News Post

Our pre-release info plan is being put together. We are going to be taking the same approach as Madden by announcing something each week, as opposed to announcing everything all at once like on NCAA Football 09.

Officially it starts today and it is... drumroll... Procedural Awareness.

Most of you have probably read about it on the Madden Forum, but here is a link: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-nfl-10-a.html

Ok, so nothing new and exciting yet. But I wanted to at least let you guys know that the news will start rolling in this month all the way up to a few weeks before the game hits shelves. So hang tight and check weekly.

Nice info that is great news. I hate the lb and dbs having eyes in back of the head. Can you imagine seeing the eyes of a freshman QB taking his first snap in the Big house. Also I hope composure ties into this. Like when you guy is in the zone he should look confident or when there is no composure he looks nervous.

I hope this feature works out but how will this effect man and zone defense,I can see this leading to a ton of zone coverage(the players in zone will always be looking at the QB) and man to man being useless again like this years game,I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything but zone defense in both madden and ncaa got way overplayed this year while man to man got burnt all to often,I have won games just calling cover2,cover3 all game,it made the games boring and very repetetive with no strategy.I hope atributes play a big part in this new feature.I enjoy NCAA alot more than Madden this year so anything new is a plus.

OFF TOPIC:Fix the stupid computer playcalling, lol,I hate when the computer calls 20 qb Options with a 60 spd QB.

Having the o-line pick up the blitz better with this would be great, and having attitude affect the explosiveness your d-lineman has of the snap would be nice. Because blitzing in this game is really week because 5 olineman will pick up 7 blitzers or if you overload a side everyone will get picked up

Any chance for Super Conferences so leagues can make even teams or just be able to have 12 people play the teams they want?

Any chance for you to add the code for teams for 09' to upload their transfers so you don't have to take your league off line to keep them from leaving? *** Can't imagine this would take much time at all **

This whole PA concept sounds nice, but here's a few points to think about:
- If a DB/WR is looking back at the ball while running, he speed should actually go down just a bit. You cant run full speed with your head turned around.
- Coupled with the first point above, body physics needs to play a more important role here. Making plays is more than just seeing the ball. It's also about being able to pivot and adjust and whatnot. If proper body physics isnt incorporated into all of this then it's going to be crap. For example, if a ball is supposed to be thrown to a WRs inside shoulder, but at the last minute he realizes that it is coming towards his outside shoulder, the physics of turning his head and aligning his body need to significantly come into play here.
- There needs to be at least 2 ratings associated with this (offense and defense). 1) How quickly someone recognizes that ball and 2) his ability to adjust to the ball.

I really hope the passing and passing defense is overhauled. I love NCAA, but that is the worst part of this years version. Most of the time in a game on any difficulty I'll only see a dozen passes actually hit the ground total, the rest are either caught or intercepted. The problems are:
1. WR's make ridiculous breaks at full speed on poorly thrown balls.
2. In Man coverage the offense is by default faster than the defense and will almost always get open.
3. In zone coverage defenses don' t react quickly enough. A WR can find a hole in the zone and sit in it for 4-5 seconds with a defender 5 yards behind him, and that defender won't react to him at all until he catches a pass.
4. If a defender does get in position, 90% of the time its a pick. In real football the reverse is true, it should almost always be a broken up pass. MLB's cannot jump 5 feet in the air with split second decision making 5 yards off the line of scrimmage and catch a pass that is bulleted. They may get a hand up and tip it or deflect it, but not catch it. A corner covering an out pattern well (right on top of the defender) will get a hand in and break the pass up almost every time... only occassionally will they actually pick it off (as opposed to NCAA where its a sure pick 6).
5. Defensive players don't run every turnover back for a td. In 2009, once a defender gets his hands on a ball he becomes almost unstoppable.

I really like the game, thanks for the info on 2010. Hopefully these critiques can help make 2010 even better!

No, EA doesn't read the BRING back part, instead opting for, "NEW FEATURE." Haha. This is sarcasm, but well, based on some truth, especially when they bump up to the next gens.
