Anybody know if it's on Silver yet to download, or when it may be there? Thanks

That's what a good sports game should do, IMO. It should teach you how to actually play the real game. This game does a great job of that. I played the best defense ever in this demo, by just movin' right along and stayin' in front of Ray Allen, and got my first block!Playing as Kobe, my fadeaway even hit the rim and then the backboard before it dropped in! And I did a sick lay-up. And I've already professed my love for the controls and graphics already. So, it seems at this point 2K is gonna have to steal me away from buyin' LIVE.
Time to edit that signature

I get 5-10 blocks per game in the demo on either of the top two settings.

Not easy to fake for an easy dunk, but easy to just keep on forcing your way to the paint for an easy in the paint score.

And no, the players don't grip on the rim... check out the dunk replays... the hands go through the rim totally.

But, I see the ball does hit the rim and backboard alot, and I like how the players actually grip the ball, and the rim. The control and playcalling are intuitive. Great player models. I'm sold!

Unless 2K sports can deliver somethin' more "fun".

I would like to Thank All of you guys who Downloaded the 360 demo and being the beta testers for us PS3 users.

We shall begin downloading at the next PSN update (likely tomorrow) and capitalize on every mistake you've made, and gather the opportunities that you have discovered to our advantage.

Thank You

Do you understand that I had a chance to play Live 08, then another game of Live 08, and then I played Live 08 again. While you beta tested the demo, I was able to play with the stiff movement, pop up dunks and no rebounds. Im going to enjoy this game more than you all

lol. if you really want to enjoy the game... why don't you pop in Live 06 & 07 while you're at it?

Haha, yeah... maybe the reason that I was so impressed with 09 was because I picked up Live 08 (brand new hah) off of CraigsList for $15 at the end of July and was playing the hell out of it. Mostly it was team play (where you can really see all the cheap things that people can do when they have total control over a player), but I was enjoying the Dynasty as well (nice change from 2K8's, and a bit deeper overall I think). After getting used to Live's controls and all the weirdnesss that came with 08, seeing 09 was a big difference. Just the way the players move and interact more than anything contributed to the big change. Adding the depth with the playcalling as well as improving the ability to play defense took it over the top... great improvement.

That's a good question. I would lean towards yes but keep in mind that I've never owned a Next-Gen Live game, only played the demos. The last one I actually owned was on the PS1 I believe back when Rip was on the Wizards. I know the consensus was that the first 2 next-gen Live games were horrible but I was busy playing the competition. Just by comparing the Demo's and reading impression threads it looks like Live is heading in the right direction, heading towards being more "sim" which is incredible given EA's history.

It seems as if the Live crowd is excited which means that they're doing something right.
Yeah, I'm really excited. They are making moves in the right directions. And wow, that's a long time since owning a Live game. The only Live that I've never owned was '98 & 2002 which I thought was just awful (2002). That's when I really went the way of 2K. I had owned both starting with 2K on the Dreamcast. I did continue to purchase both games though up until 2K6. I think that's Shaq on the cover. I wasn't feeling that one and not really feeling any of the ones subsequently either. I will check out the new one and I might wind up owning both games this year. Just depends. I haven't thought that the next gen's have been awful, but they haven't been outstanding even though I've stuck by them this whole time. I'm loving what I'm seeing though.

LOL I want this demo to make me trade in the retail 08

I'm trying to psyche myself out not make myself psycho

Now that I think about it, this demo is more in depth than live 06 finished ever was. That's saying alot

I actually enjoyed the hell out of that Live. I believe it was 2001 or 2000, idk. To each his own. I realized a long time ago that trying to convince a Live guy about 2Kss game and vice versa is an argument that falls on dead ears 90% of the time. 2K fans should be happy that Live is stepping it up. It should result in a better product.

Easy now...he has to be sane by the time the demo shows up on PSN. Too much of those two gams and KDRE might switch sports.

My favorite was NBA Live 2000. The one where they released the player rights to Jordan. We had some serious battles in college. Like ridiculous. We each had our own team. There were like six of us. Awesome fun all the time. I'm hoping to get that out of the new one. I will always hold a special place for the 2K series. I hope that I will be comfortable enough with the new one to own both. We'll see. Live will always be my first love though. 2K my mistress.

So the Live demo should be available for silver users later today, right? Looking forward to it.

dammit...wasn't paying attention and got sucked in. Had a good hour session with the demo. Couple more observations...

-Off ball movement is super crisp and very rewarding. Guys pop open all over the place and usually present 2-3 options on a given play.

-Live always did double the postup too quickly. In 04 and 05, we had to switch to the other team and turn off the doubles. Dumping into the post still draws too much attention, making the kickout too easy a play.

-CPU inbounds = candy from a baby.

-I stuffed KG with Gasol on three straight shot attempts. KG kept picking up the deflection and going up with it...and I kept sending the weak ish, lol. Hopefully thats just a difficulty level issue.

-I like the PG calling plays while coming up court, but I hate that you can't stop it without sprinting. I like how in 2K you can do that by slowing down, but in Live it happens automatically, meaning that if I'm down late in the game and want to get into my offense quickly, I have to do that crazy all-out sprint up court. Some of those animations are a little over the top also. LBJ does that hard, high dribble coming across halfcourt, but not many others do that.

-Rim physics above the rim are great. Its when the ball goes through that things fall apart. The very best rim and net sounds ever tho.

-I love the fact that the defense doesn't magically recover from being beaten. Love that.

Overall, I'm liking it more every time I play...

I mentioned it way early in the thread, but it still really irritates me how fast someone who grabs an offensive rebound can go back up, while the D is super glued to the floor. An offensive rebound is an easy dunk because the block button decides not to work or something but the rebounder can jump up to dunk it instantly.

I have talked about it myslef - unresponsiveness on the defensive end.

What really makes it crazy is the defenders get up to block shots way too fast on the perimeter, lol.
