LOVE the new layup animations. They look great.
I buy this game every year, don't see why this year would be any different. Hope they got a little more Stadium specific stuff in.

I hope they fix the block animation. I get so mad when I know exactly when someone is going to shoot but my guy can't jump fast enough.
I couldn't give 2 shizz's about commentary, sound..crap like that. In fact, I usually play sports game on mute and play music instead. No matter what the commentary is, it will get annoying after a while.
All I care about is gameplay and a good franchise mode. The player models looked much better to me and I liked some of the personalized moves as well.
Personally, this game has been so good lately, I wouldn't want it to look drastically different, just refined in certain spots.
End of the day, we know this thing will be good, this series is a proven commodity, and if you've liked the last two installments, then there is nothing to worry about.

I'm still curious to see if better defence has been implemented or not and the computer actually plays help D this game unlike last and you can actually blow by your defender more often instead of them sticking to you as well as that holding animation they have from side to side. Couldnt really tell if there was any help D in the vid but I guess it doesnt matter anyway because it was man v man right? Also curious to see if that speed from Rondo also can be used in mismatces on the perimeter or if everyone is gonna be the same speed again, 7 feet tall or not
I haven't plaed 2K8 in a couple of weeks, was Garnett's freethrow like in this video? It looks real nice.

to the rescue lookin ***
Enough with purchasing BOTH of these games as if money just grew on trees. Save yourself the money even as EA tries to seduce you with gimmicky features that don’t impact what you care about most. Hey EA, its the GAMEPLAY stupid! 2K dominates in this area and that is why you should hedge your money on 2K and rent Live, only to realize that you only wasted 5 bucks and not 60 purchasing the retail copy. Yes I am a 2K fanboy. Yes I am bitter about the NFL exclusivity contract that buried the NFL 2K Franchise. However, this in no way is clouding my judgement when it comes to assessing both Live and 2K basketball games purely based on merit. 2K8 was crack and Live 08 was, well, weed in terms of potency; Not even, it was meh aregano at best and thats just sad. WE DONT BELIEVE YOU EA, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE!

I don't think you should take anything we say so painfully. We are glad that things like this are leaked out, I think you guys should release this on your own, in the early stages, so that the criticism and words of the consumer could help you improve as you guys are in early development.
We aren't knocking the game to the wall, and you already know we are going to buy it. We would just like info dropped early to allow us to view areas that need to be improved, that probably can be way before completion of the game.
As far as the commentary goes, we've been complaining about that since ESPN NBA 2k4, so don't take that so harsh! Fact is, you guys use to be the king of presentation, now Live 06,07,08, and now 09 have all had better commentary. Then sony impressed us all with the Show 08. Even their poo of a game NBA 07, and 08. Had pretty good presentation. But that game stank more than Forest Whitakers buttcheeks after a burrito eating competition.
But man seriously, this footage leaked out is the best thing exposed since Janet's wardrobe malfunction.

LOL were all pretty smart guys, does "work in progress" really need to be anywhere on the footage to tell this build is early?
anyway, cant wait!

So yea...if Rondo can get up the court like that on a Fastbreak, imagine how fast players like Monta and CP3 and Leandro Barbosa will get up the court lol
That was incredibly underwhelming and dare I say worse than Live 09's footage. The only thing better is the net animations... I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they are the leader in Basketball, and this was likely an early build. But do you really think they would get Kellogg and Miller to record filler phrases? Don't be surprised if all we get is the same commentary with different voices. That's what seems to be the case here.
The one redeeming factor: End of quarter highlights.

There seems to be an obvious fear from 2K that it will affect the sales of their games or people making up their minds about what the final product looks like by watching early release videos.
Until then you get all the doubt and whining for information that doesnt come until the last few of weeks before release.
It has nothing to do with being smart or dumb.
I can understand they dont want their final work judged on something as as build a few months old but seems the criticisms sting as much as the praise of appreciation of the hard work.
