how **** are the crowds? KG does that dunk, nothing happens
And they still sound like crying babies when the cheer.
and the dribbling is a bit over the top, how many players in the nba does crossovers and fancy moves for no reason?

its good. but 2K needs to add foot planting sooner or later.. i see no signs of foot planting in this game.
Live had foot planting since 07 was put to Next gen consoles,

but sttill is a good game.
just saying but, this is from nearly 1 month back. dont you reckon 2k would have developed the game alot more in that period of time?

2k just can not get the sound right. The commentary and crowd are dismal.
Before people start yelling go play NBA Live. I hate NBA Live but after watching the 2K9 video posted and still not really hearing about any fantastic features, so far I'm not impressed with 2K either. So far if someone was unbiased and never played Live or 2K and was trying to pick between the 09 versions of both games, based on gameplay vids and featues NBA Live has the lead right now, it looks more impressive. I never thought I would say this about Live. This secret features crap, and 2K withholding info is getting old now. We can see vids and find more info about Killzone 2 or Gears of War 2 or Resistance 2 or many other games six months before there released, but 2K is 2 months away and we still don't have a official trailer or much info. The guy who started this topic maybe right, maybe 2K has gotten lazy since we've given them so much praise the past few years? Hey it happend to EA sports. If you remember 2K stated that they feel like they don't need to improve much in the gameplay they wanted to concentrate on the presentation for 2K9, which is great but we all know there are many improvements to be made and features that can be added in. In 2K5, 2K6, 2K7,2K8 I saw leaps and improvements, but what I've seen of 2K9 I'm not impressed so far also. I'm keeping my finger crossed and hoping 2K is holding back alot of features, info, and videos that everyone seems to believe what is happening. Also this year there hasn't been much interaction with the people from 2K that use to comment or post on the forum or operation sports, usually every year they would answer a few questions, or drop some hints. Hell what ever happend to those E3 question and answers?? I don't know, but 2K is looking suspect right now. Lets just keep our hopes up.I love 2K basketball, but I have to be honest with myself with not being impressed so far with 2K9.
I have faith in 2K. They always keep us out in the dark when it comes to info. Once the info is finally dropped by the end of the month most of yall dudes will piss on your damn selves.
Again I have faith. But got damn the atmosphere is BAD. Not GOOD bad but horrible

My issues with NBA 2k9 as I can see so far!
This video demonstrated an early build, in which looked really good but not great. I think everyone is more amazed at the fact it’s more detailed than 2k8. But in the same since the gameplay is looking a little bit sloppier. There is too much sliding going on during play and that’s definitely an issue. I remember back on PS2 and PS3 Live use to get abused about that and 2k had that issue, in ESPN NBA 2k5, which made a bunch of people angry and disappointed. Warranted the game looks amazing graphic wise, and the crowd and courts are more detailed. Even the presentation overlay is much nicer, but it doesn’t cut what goes on during play.
I saw too many poor AI moments, even though it seems like either the game was on easy, or the person who set it up, was just to show the Celtics whoop down on the Lakers because KG is the cover guy. If that’s true then again poor marketing on 2k’s part, we all know if you really want to impress people when demonstrating a game. You must up the difficulty and show us how the CPU is going to give us the business. I mean we want to see the challenge in the game, especially when you are targeting sim players, and mid teens to adults. I’m sorry, show me how hard its going to be for me to drive to that lane, and how my intelligence and reflexes are going to have to work to stop the CPU from rolling over me. It would also demonstrate more of the player tendencies at a higher and realistic rate.
Having him discuss, the #1 selling, and the pro’s play 2k, blah, blah, blah is a waste of PR. We don’t care show us why we would like it, not the history of the series.
One thing they are going to have to do, before this game launches and I mean it too. And I’m sure 99% of OS and everyone else will agree with me.
They are going to have to get Kevin and Clark to get in the studio and just talk sports, not read from a script, and gets Cheryl Miller more involved. Those lame *** one liners and things like that are too robot and scripted its terrible.
Kevin and Clark aren’t even on the same page and Clark is a mime, and is like the little kid who talks after his big brother says something big. Its whack beyond belief looks at the chemistry with Steve Kerr and Marv Albert in Live series. They hold conversations while the game is going on, and comment on the action during that. Look at how they ask each other questions and go back and forth about plays that just went down. They even have arguments and talk about look at the monitors you can with your own eyes and they have laughter and emotions about the situation and then focus back on the court.
Seriously how freaking hard is it for 2k to do that. And having the sideline reporter with that huge Gatorade bucket on the screen is just distracting the way it comes up. Give us reactions to stats and specific plays. Instead of stupid one liner on how the team is going to focus and come back.
(example: Give us something like this,” Ok Marv I was talking to Phil Jackson about the foul issue right now and the chemistry with his team, he said after Kobe Bryant missed his last shot and Gasol, received his 3rd foul, that he would have to pull from the bench to get this team going before the half and hopefully they get shorten this lead”.)
(Marv: Thanks Cheryl let’s hope they can do just that with the bench!
Clark: Well the Lakers do have a great bench with Vujacic, Farmar, and a few other players who can definitely come in the game and score, and help pick up the momentum!)
And when all this is going on the game is still flowing. This is the type of presentation 2k needs to balance out the efforts they make designing the court play. Because dull presentation and commentary will bore people to death during play, because there is no excitement or emotions involved in the broadcast team.
Other than that, get the foot planting correct and get rid of that hideous sliding around.
Other than that Simballer and team, good video can’t wait to see a more completed version. But it’s a purchase no matter what with me, but seriously addresses these issues and get them done before release, even if you have to delay it until November 2008.

Yea I hated the fact that they made him say the same thing Kenny would say in 2k8. Come on now is it that hard for some new commentary? since it's an early build I hope they fix that.
I know there is little chance of this being answered, but SIMBALLER, can you comment on how the commentary has been improved from that build of the game so far, since that seems to be the biggest concern with the fans. Any answer would be appreciated

Uncalled for. Grow up. It's not complaining, it's criticizing. I guess we're not allowed to have an opinion on a public forum?

This is why we don't release videos until we feel the game is ready. People see early footage and make up their mind. Things are looking incredibly better in the current build, trust me.
Regarding the commentary, Kellogg was in the game for maybe 3-4 days at the point when this build was made. Yes, we kept SOME of the same lines that Kenny had, but there is also a LOT of new content. At the time of this build, none, to very little, of that was implemented in the game. You guys are looking at footage that is 1/4+ of a year away from shipping.
We're not going to let you down; the level of yelling and excitement I hear from people playing around the office on a daily basis is more than I've heard in years. Top to bottom, this is easily the best game in the NBA 2k series. You don't have to take my word for it; you'll see for yourself in a couple months.
