Anyone else looked at the Pats sideline and seen how fat #12 got? Brady really let himself go.

You know, the saddest part is that while we're here laughing at the garbage that EA continues to put out, EA is getting the 'last laugh'. Look at how many suckers continue to buy this garbage year in and year out. The same ones that gripe on the Internet about not having stupid features like adding your face in the game or adding your own music, or making sure the flags blow in the correct direction. Or heaven forbid, focusing on how fat Tom Brady looks in the game. Yet, they'll end their post talking about how great Madden could be this year. Like an alcoholic that just needs one more drink.

I am not quite sure what happened here, been playing the demo , but lets get back to impressions about the demo.

So to help out, I am still enjoying the demo, although its starting grow old. I beat the Pats awhile ago when I let a pass fly with 5 seconds left that was intended for Toomer, but was deflected and caught by Smith. Pretty cool.

I am having a blast now playing with the backups for the Giants. Come on August 12th. 8th

I've had that issue too with Shockey in the flats letting the ball drop. Bradshaw has dropped a few but I was expecting Shockey to handle a simple pass with no pressure

Well, from what I've seen, the drops seem to occur like this when I throw bullet passes. when I put a little "touch" on them it hasn't occured at all. I've also seen plenty of flat out incompletions, but mostly when I roll out and try to throw on the run. I'd personally like to see more errant throws on regular routes (Not overdone, but occcasionally...based on QB accuracy/recognition), but overall I'm mostly pleased with some of the improvement I see in the passing...albeit a very limited sample.

Anyone else thing the bullet pass travels TOO fast. It looks strange to see a football time warp from point A to point B.

Yep, it does seem to ("bullet pass" has never seemed so apt). I wonder if the dropped passes could be attributed to the receiving animation not being able to catch up to the pass? Hopefully it's not just a way to garner more "realistic" pass stats.

Brilliant.

My mates and I talked about this last night over drinks, and although some of them would just pick up the PS2 game, most don't have that luxury being 40gig(PS3) owners; so they're they just not going to play any Madden this season - again.

So that's about six sales pissed away right there over something as practical as control options. Bravo.

Also, while playing the demo last night we noticed that if you roll to the right with Manning and make a dash for the first down on foot, that the MLB (Bruschi) will occasionally not react at all. It wasn't until well after Eli had hit open space for the first down that he attempted to make a play. He just continued to play zone, side stepping to his right. It was very odd and apparent as we all noticed it and rushed to check it out in the replay.

The one impressive thing that did come out of the play was that as Manning made his way towards the sideline for the first, the CB (Hobbs) who was with in arms reach of him seemed to let up, as too not get flagged for unnecessary contact out of bounds. That's certainly a first for the series, intentional or not.

I made the preorder for this game last from Sports Authority since I was a big 08 online fan. The improved graphics and lighting did it for me at first.

Then Madden's warping issue got to me this morning while playing the demo. My breaking point came when Adelius Thomas was covering Steve Smith on a crossing pattern. Smith had a step on him, so I threw him a ball. He warped another 3 steps in front of AT, so AT was now chasing him upfield from behind. The CB on the right side stood Smith up for a brief second, AT warped in front of Smith, and they both pushed me backwards.

I stopped playing the demo at that point. I decided to give the APF demo a try since it's been on the backburner while I played the 08 full game. It was such an improvement to me, minus the fact that it wasn't an NFL game. It makes me wonder why I didn't give it a chance last year. I cancelled my 09 order and I'll be looking to pick of APF for this year.

They said this year you could break out of tackles with well timed spins or jukes (after you are already in a tackle animation). Has anyone had any luck. Everytime i get in a tackle animation im done for (like years past). Ive tried with jacobs (stiff arming and trucking), with bradshaw (spinning and juking) and nada......

Actually I did this morning tater as I ran for a TD with Jacobs. I bounced outside on what was supposed to be an inside run, stiff armed TBru and then was at about the 5 yard line when I was met head on by a DB and pressed the stiff arm button and pushed him off and scored. It was pretty sweet.

I am really, really stoked for this game.

WOW I just saw the nicest one handed grab ever....I threw a swing pass to Jacobs and he reached back for the ball since it was overthrown and with one hand gently snatched the ball and in the same motion went up the field and trucked meriweather...but the catch was so sweet... eli threw it behind him so he had to reach with his left hand the other way and grabed it and went up the field...sweet new one handed catch animation out of the backfield....

i cant wait till tuesday for this game... i get it early every year...Holla

yeah, this was the first time that I seen it in all the "games" that I have played. And I agree, I am tired of playing as the Giants. I am ready to play as my Raiders.

Since I can't edit the controls in the game, and demo doesn't offer a list, can someone please post the button commands for both sides of the ball?

I noticed in some of the gameplay vids posted online already that the the playcall screen will occasionally offer tips like using speed burst with RT/R2. Is that the reason they've locked the controls; so that these "tips" remain accurate at all times? That's the only thing that makes sense to me, which at the same time doesn't make any sense to me.

Its only one quarter, but thought id point out, in the HOF game, Campbell is 5-5, Sorgi is 8-10 and not going deep much. And on 3rd and long, Campbell threw short of the first down marker. It happens. NFL QB's are told if the first down throw isnt there, throw short and try to pick it up. WHen its 3rd and 15, 10 yards is better than 0.

Just to address some concerns on demo stuff......
