Can you change the controller set up for the demo?

I know for most sports game demos, you can change those types of things.

is it just me or everytime i see #4 I still think Santonio Holmes? i guess old habits die hard huh...

Yeah, it took some time. I actually liked when Small wore the 82 for the spring game (even though that was a demotion).

did it look like this?

it happened in '08 too, not often though.

Has anyone tried the old run back 30 yards and throw a 60 yard bomb trick yet? That's probably the thing I've hated the most about the past few games. I know it's a demo, and that trick kind of hard to stop programming wise, but I just wanted to see if anyone had tried that yet.

funny thing when I hear "wide open gameplay", I start imagining the WR, after catching a TD, runs up into the stands, drinks a beer with a fan, leaves the stadium in a cab and heads back to the dorms ala GTAIV. THAT'S "wide open gameplay".
lol

I had a game where I personally got to the QB twice, my defense managed 2 more sacks. Only two of those were blitzes, and by blitzes I mean one LB. The DE play seems much improved, but this is varsity, and I rarely play on varsity so I cannot completely compare. However, I have ALMOST gotten to the QB several times, and it wasn't because the cpu guy held the ball too long or started to scramble. Lawrence Wilson (DE #87 OSU) is a beast of a pass rusher if you use him right. The last 3 games I have gotten significant pressure on the cpu and myself have been sacked a couple times (mostly my fault for not finding the open man in time).
Since you are getting so much pressure on the CPU, how is the CPU QB play? Is he throwing the ball away? Are you seeing more picks with more pressure?

It really just gets him into making bad throws. Not all of which are interceptable balls, but for example 5 yards behind a WR or ahead. I have pressured him into some interceptions, but the interceptions were all believable. I do not see the QB throwing way out of bounds though to avoid making a bad throw. So bottomline: the QB panics. I still don't see a remarkable completion-attempt ratio (remarkable in the sense that it is normal, as in what you would expect). Most games the cpu goes about 9/12 for under 100 or so. I haven't seen any "You've got to be kidding me" throws yet when under pressure.

Demo was fun. I blew it, though. I had OSU down 10-0 at half and ended up losing 14-13 as my O deserted me 2nd half. I'm kinda worried about the CPU offense being unstoppable at home on a must score drive. They were perfect through the air on the go ahead drive. I couldn't get any pressure and the CPU kept using PA which had my D all locked up. It was just kinda frustrating. But I shouldn't have left OSU with a minute on the clock at home. I'd play it better in a full game. But overall, I'll be getting this game. Much more fun to play than last year. Nice feel to the players.

So color me impressed, at least in terms of the player movement. For the first time to me it feels like the players are actually on the field. Pass defense feels more responsive, everything feels good. I played 2 games on the 2 min quarters and neither were scored outside of 20 total points.

First play, I ran back a kick-off return. woot!!!

So far, much better then last years ver. from what I have seen. I like how you can really control your guy more so then ever.

Giddy up! Go EA!

The field looks better than last year, however, I want to see a grass field on the game now as well. What was the latest on field degradation?

Still, fun demo to play, and now I'll do the demo, then do 08 on Varsity, two minute quarters, then over and over, really get a feel for other changes.

I like some of the new animations where the RB is falling forwards fighting for yards. At least I think they're new, only rented 08.

The only thing I'm really concerned about is the unstoppable QB's. In my last game I was LSU and Boeckman went 17/17, was 7/7 on the last drive and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. Threading the needle almost every play. And this is on friggen varsity. PLEASE have the sliders work this year.

My only gripe so far after 3 or 4 demo games is with the CPU QB's deadly accuracy. In those games, the CPU threw a blistering 95% against me. For the most part, I felt completely defenseless against the throws that were made. Just not enough time to react to the ball for me in controlling the defender near the intended receiver. The human pass defense just seems extremely inept with guys not reacting to the ball until the receiver has already made the catch in alot of cases I know it's not my skills, because this was not the situation for me in 08!!!

Being on the Varsity setting, you'd think that the CPU should be a little less God-like, wouldn't you??? Oh well, here's to hoping that the sliders or change in difficulty have some affect on this

yeah I even took control of a CB and stepped in front of a pass for an INT for 6 manually...in past next-gen games the slight delay when i took control of the guy would have blown the int..

try out the demo with the mascots to try a different field...not sure if it's at texas or florida but don't both have grass anyways?

Let's just hope the QB accuracy slider works in the full version. IIRC, according to some of the guys at the EA Community Day, lowering this slider seemed to slow down the CPU offensive wizardry on AA and Heisman.

I hear ya bro' but honestly i'd prefer a challenging CPU who completes too many than in the past, an incompetent CPU who completes about 30% or whatever and throws too many interceptions to boot.
