OMG, last play of the game, I have the ball on my own 40 and i'm up by 7 so I figure, put Pryor in and let's see how he does on a scramble. So I call Hail Mary which gives me some "open field"...snap the ball...roll out, pump fake...start running upfield.
Now honestly I think I'll get about 20 yards before I get tackled and that is right about where I meet up with a bunch of LSU guys, well I got a couple of good blocks, had a couple of guys to beat, did a slight shake to the left, cut back to the right......one LSU guy dives and he hits Pryor's knee and nearly causes him to fall down, but Pryor maintains his balance.....keeps on going and then breaks free and runs in the last 20 odd yards....then I ran and celebrated with the mascot!!
WOW THAT WAS CRAZY SICK!! And now I'm headed back to work, LOL. What a crazy ending to a game. Talk about wide open gameplay. Pryor is awesome fun to play with. I was whining earlier in a thread about his speed being 87 or whatever but I think his speed is perfect, he's def. fast but not so much it unbalances things. Great job on that EA.

Do you know how to high step on a breakaway run?

I've been playing this for too many hours now and I am really encouraged about how this game might play on higher difficulty levels. It's far from perfect but overall it is as good a football videogame that we've seen in a while. I really feel like there gameplay is a good balance in the gameplay.

I am so happy to hear such positive impressions. I was still worried in the back of my mind that it wouldn't be that good. Looks like this is the year for EA. If this game is as good as people are saying (and I'll find out tonight) then just think what Madden will be.

OMT, can you all fix the Dlinemen stances before the game comes out? If not, maybe in a patch. It just looks really weird to me. I cant believe no one else has caught this yet. Its the equivalent of corners standing straight up . It throws off the look of the game, and this game is so close to really being the greatest football experience Ive had.

Had a weird glitch where on a kickoff return return I did the stutter step and my player got stuck with the animation repeating over and over, I could still move him but he kept stutter stepping to the left, the really odd thing was that he couldn't be tackled and I fought him from stutter stepping out of bounds all the way to a TD.
I really can't remember the last time in an EA football game I had an equal amount of fun playing on both sides of the ball.

The lighting looks amazing. Can any buckeye fan confirm this is accurate for a six o'clock game. I just knocked out boeckman and sacked pryor on his first pass. Boeckman came back and threw a td pass on me. No nets after field goals. Oh well. Perriloux is the starting qb for lsu. Ended up losing 14-10 and heard the crowd cheering "overrated" with about 15 seconds left to go. The cheerleaders looked ok I guess but I had the lack of an injury animation. They still lay on the ground. I'll be getting this game regardless. Seeing most of the horse shoe in all red has my hype to bring the wolverines in there.

i almost had a convoy celebration animation start on a kickoff return, had 3 guys out front, but a defender came from the side and dove-tackle me.

BTW, thanks for uploading the vids of the demo Kevin. We appreciate it. The game looks great. Can't wait to play later.
Wow, nearly 10,000 views and the day isn't even half over yet. I wonder if this will set a record. Steve_OS would be quite proud.

Ok, 2 games in, 1 as LSU and 1 as Ohio State.
So far.....
The Good
1. Very nice, fluid gameplay. Animations are great and the speed of the game is very nice.
2. The running game is a thing of beauty. Both the Offensive and Defensive interactions are very very nice and the whole aspect of the game flows so well.
3. I'm seeing penalties! On a demo with 2 minute quarters, to see 2-3 penalties each game is a very good thing.
4. Lighting and player models are the best I've seen in the series yet.
The Bad
1. Ugh. The Jump the Snap feature is alive and well. I had LSU jump the snap on me 4 times in 6 plays. EA..please remove this horrid "feature" once and for all. No real college defenses jump the snap 4 times in an ENTIRE GAME much less a single drive.
2. As the community guys have stated....there is zero pass rush. None. It's pretty bad when both LSU and Ohio State's D lines..which are both ridiculously high rated...get pancaked and stood up play after play. If you don't bring any blitzes...and I'm talking sell out type blitzes...you won't get to the QB...period.
3. It seems pretty easy to throw. Again..these are supposedly two of the best defenses in the game and I was able to pick both of them apart for 5-15 yard gains or more through the air. The combination of little to no pass rush and the sense that at least one receiver is going to be WIDE OPEN on each pass play means if you are patient you literally could throw every down and not be stopped...at least in the demo.
4. In 2 games, I scored 3 Defensive touchdowns. 2 Pick Sixes and 1 Fumble recovery for a TD. In defense of this....all 3 seemed legit and both INTs the DBs didn't do any magical "eyes in the back of the head" routine...they legitimately looked for the ball and made good plays.
Summary: I like it. I'm hoping that the higher difficulty levels offer better defensive AI in pass coverage and pass rush. If not...that could be a big issue. The running game is perfect. If they can tinker with the pass rush and get it to be more balanced, this could be a VERY VERY VERY good game.
And for the love of god, get rid of the Jump the Snap feature. The only time the CPU ever got pressure on me passing was by jumping the snap.
