funny thing when I hear "wide open gameplay", I start imagining the WR, after catching a TD, runs up into the stands, drinks a beer with a fan, leaves the stadium in a cab and heads back to the dorms ala GTAIV. THAT'S "wide open gameplay".
lol

I had a game where I personally got to the QB twice, my defense managed 2 more sacks. Only two of those were blitzes, and by blitzes I mean one LB. The DE play seems much improved, but this is varsity, and I rarely play on varsity so I cannot completely compare. However, I have ALMOST gotten to the QB several times, and it wasn't because the cpu guy held the ball too long or started to scramble. Lawrence Wilson (DE #87 OSU) is a beast of a pass rusher if you use him right. The last 3 games I have gotten significant pressure on the cpu and myself have been sacked a couple times (mostly my fault for not finding the open man in time).
Since you are getting so much pressure on the CPU, how is the CPU QB play? Is he throwing the ball away? Are you seeing more picks with more pressure?

Game plays good overall. Just won 9-6 in OT with OSU. LSU sacked me 6 times!!

I did find it tricky to roam with a LB, I kept trying to make a cut and getting way out of position. I don't think I'll be able to use a CB in coverage this year, no way in hell for me. Just way too loose.

BTW, Freeman hits like a Mack truck!

Oakley visors look very, very, very, very, very good.

Kirston Pittman is a BEAST, so is Beanie.

It really just gets him into making bad throws. Not all of which are interceptable balls, but for example 5 yards behind a WR or ahead. I have pressured him into some interceptions, but the interceptions were all believable. I do not see the QB throwing way out of bounds though to avoid making a bad throw. So bottomline: the QB panics. I still don't see a remarkable completion-attempt ratio (remarkable in the sense that it is normal, as in what you would expect). Most games the cpu goes about 9/12 for under 100 or so. I haven't seen any "You've got to be kidding me" throws yet when under pressure.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here

Demo was fun. I blew it, though. I had OSU down 10-0 at half and ended up losing 14-13 as my O deserted me 2nd half. I'm kinda worried about the CPU offense being unstoppable at home on a must score drive. They were perfect through the air on the go ahead drive. I couldn't get any pressure and the CPU kept using PA which had my D all locked up. It was just kinda frustrating. But I shouldn't have left OSU with a minute on the clock at home. I'd play it better in a full game. But overall, I'll be getting this game. Much more fun to play than last year. Nice feel to the players.

So color me impressed, at least in terms of the player movement. For the first time to me it feels like the players are actually on the field. Pass defense feels more responsive, everything feels good. I played 2 games on the 2 min quarters and neither were scored outside of 20 total points.
