MLB 2K8 News Post

Patrick Williams of Operation Sports wrote an article discussing why he is unhappy with Major League Baseball 2k8 and why he thinks a full refund is in order.

Unfortunately being an XBOX 360 owner leaves me few options when it comes to choosing a baseball game. In fact it leaves me with just one option: MLB 2K8."

It's funny that many claim this game to be broken, yet my copy outside of some choppiness plays a helluva baseball game... Go figure

I agree it's a much improved game. And if a framerate fix can be found, I think it would be an even better game.
My bad, I specifically said the crashers because I wasn't talking about you. I just posted you because you asked a general question that got me into extending the answer.

Disagree on the player models. Graphics are in the eye of the beholder imo, but to me 2k8 players look sort of cartoony. Especially when compared to last year.

I have no problems with the fielding in The Show, but I prefer the fielding in 2k8. I think fielding is the one portion of the game where 2k8 outshines The Show.

Gotcha. No worries.

Completely agree and about the player models in The Show with there short wide shouldered bodies for every player certainly isn't helping but again I enjoy both games I just prefer 2K8 because of gameplay.

2K seems to have achieved their primary goal: to keep EA from making baseball games. Bravo, 2K. We lost what is to some the best game(MVP) and in its place is the bumblin', stumblin' MLB2K series.

Every time I pop in MLB2K, I long for the days of MVP and All-Star. It's like dating three girls and you end up with the one you really didn't want in the first place.

Some choppiness? I had worse choppiness than what MVP 05 on the PC had before the patch. I'm not even a graphic's guy (I still play old school games all the time), but comeon it is just annoying to see.

Yes it's annoying, but you can't tell me it's worst than 2k7, because it's not

Just not happening to me on my end.

I see choppiness after the play. I see minor stuttering during a play. Never had a problem fielding the ball.

It's still pretty choppy for me on the field of play. Which I could probably live with more, if it was more constant. It's really all over the place as far as framerate in my experience. It could just be me.

2k7 never had stuttering in the field for me. I played that game like 100000 times, so maybe I just ignored it I don't know. I remember the patch added a new camera view that was kinda laggy, but I stuck to the original and never had choppiness in the field.

It's more choppy than 2k7. I'm not saying the game is smooth on the field. 30 fps might be wrong, I give you that.

But it's just not choppy enough to really bother me. I still understand why it would bother people.

I would never argue with anyone that says they can't play the game because of the frame rate. It's understanding if it's irritating.

If a patch fix's the choppiness let me know... and I'm coming back. That card feature seemed really interesting.

I log out of my profile so I don't know about the frame rate issues. Hahaha.

Shouldn't have to do that. Not to mention that defeats the ability to use the highly touted card collecting feature which I do enjoy. Even then, framerate hits are noticeable.

I can only compare 2k8 with 2k7 and it's not even close. Gameplay wise, 2k8 blows 2k7 out of the water.

I'm still playing on SDTV, so, I don't have any stuttering, choppiness, what others are experiencing.

I knew about the commentary before I purchased the game.

You seem to be the one trying harder to get people that like the game to not like it.

It's all a personal opinion... I myself didn't enjoy this years version of 2k baseball but does it make it bad for all, nope.
