is anyone else really dissapointed with the crowd in these games?? I dont hear that mentioned much, but it always sounds like there are about 50 people there, they cheer or boo at inappropriate times, and the only real change in crowd "intensity" is they add that one guy that whistles every 30 seconds. Takes me completely out of the excitement of the game. I hope this is fixed in the final build.

i'm not bothered by the visuals, and the gameplay looks solid. i just hope, as someone else said, we can turn off the red marker above the user controlled player while fielding. the pitching interface looks organic, which to me is more engaging than button mashing in sync with a meter. (i still will be getting the show, but there are a few things about mlb 2k8 that i think engross the user more than the show). i only watched the first three innings, but nothing really turned me off, although i need to stop browsing OS so much because now the bat sound is irritating to me where before it didn't.
anyway, should be a good game.

I feel the crowd gets loud but when it does its for a short time.. like ellsbury catch in left center the crowd roars but he like skips the cutscene and replay so the crowd gets quiet quick.. also idk if yall tried this but go to settings>presentations>sounds> then adjust the chant, cheer, and crowd volume up it makes a huge difference I like the arial cam for fielding..also I think the colors will be fine look like a typical boston opener cold dark and overcast there really was notta lot overcast in 2k7 also its on a 4 inch area and the recording and upload process losses greatness

You are seeing variable strike zones.. Won't get into a long post. Too early in the morning. For me these videos showed more PRO'S than CON'S. Which for me is what's important. Good Looking out DJ Rhude

No they dont, many times when a right handed batter K's the Catcher will throw to first to start the ball around the horn when the bases are empty.
I know Ivan Rodriquez does it all the time.

Yeah, a lot of teams go to first and some to third...

Simply horrible......Last years poor game with different camera angles. Crowd still sucks....Pitching/batting interface looks to be the same, you still are going to be completely guessing when at the plate...The sounds of the batted ball all sound the same, whether you get jammed up inside or nail the ball on the sweet sound of the bat.......Thank you so much for putting this video up.....it simply confirms how truly gret the Show 08 is...

Just as a reminder, in case you didn't see it. This is quoted from Matt Blumenthal on his initial impressionds from the front page.

I had an opportunity to demo Major League Baseball 2K8 this afternoon. His official writeup of the event will be up later this week, but we wanted to get some quick thoughts up here for you guys.

* This game looks beautiful, the player models have improved but the real leap is in the animations. The animations move silky smooth and there is no need to worry about herky jerky animations of the past anymore.

I will take his word for it about the smoothness. So hopefully this will put to rest the perceived choppiness people are seeing.

I honestly think that people like you are looking for a reason to hate the game. Maybe its because you can only get one game and you want the one you don't get to be bad.

To me the pitcher/batter interface looks great. I am able to tell the pitch and the break, something that was almost impossible last year. Plus there is a rumor that bat sounds will be fixed in the retail version. Also you should always play the final retail version of a game before making a decision about it.

First of all, you don't know me, so please don't try and predict what I can or can't do when it comes to a game. I was simply stating my opinion after watching the video just like you. For your info, I have both systems and can have every game out there if I choose, this is just simply one I won't purchase. Listen...the Show 08 hasn't changed much either, it's just that it is lightyears ahead of 2K8, whether you want to admit that or not. Again just an opinion. i was seriously just thanking the poster for the video, because for me, it answered a lot of questions.

Hmm you talk about opinions, are yours the only opinions that are right?

Look I dont care what you do, all i was trying to say was play the game before you write it off.

I agree with you on the camera, I hate looking at the wall when a HR is hit. However i think the aerial camera might fix this. The crowd seems better though, i think he is "buttoning through" the crowd noise thought. As far as the pitchers reaction, whats wrong with that?

No doubt, the strike zone does move around a bit....can't get too comfortable

Another thing, this is the same preview build that I've had for a month.....don't put too much stock into how the graphics look.....you have to consider that, I'm showing about a 80% complete game and the loss of resolution the vids take after transfering to the net....

The game itself looks good and it plays great

Look, if you don't like someone's comments ABOUT THE GAME, how about instead of taking a shot at the guy, you stop and breathe, count to 10, punch a pillow, or whatever it takes... and then simply post your comments ABOUT THE GAME.
Did you not read the crap he was spewing? It was an anti-2k rant and pro, Show. If you don't want to buy the game thats fine. But don't come in here telling us 2k sucks and mlb rules.
