I think some times fan should be happy for making the playoffs. There are a lot of teams every year that don't even do that.
When I see the coach of my favorite team ride out to pick a dude from the airport, the dude better get us to the Super Bowl. This team was already a playoff team before that dude arrived...

It's not a matter of the Vikings taking Favre back. He's signed for another year anyway. It's obvious Favre can say JUMP and the Vikings will say HOW HIGH. I think Favre will be back next year, but I very much doubt he will have another year like this one. He's not going to have such a cupcake schedule next year beating up on the worst teams in the league like this year. The Packers will be improved in the division.....and they were only defensively inferior to the Vikings this year. That will be remedied over the offseason. I expect a tight division race all the way to the end. It's also hard to imagine the Bears and Jay Cutler being that bad again next year.....although they did beat the Vikings as they were. Peyton Manning was never able to match the success of his big year when he broke the TD record. Brady and the Patriots have looked nothing like the 07 team. And Favre will be equally as unlikely to match his best year at 41 years old.

The Vikings should draft a QB in this draft OR trade for a promising young backup with another team (a guy like Colt Brennan comes to mind). You have to prepare now while you have a 1 year grace period with Favre.....he will be back for one more. You absolutely cannot pin your franchise's future in a QB-driven league on the whims of a 41 year old and then find out a week before pre-season that he isn't coming back. The Packers refused to and now they're set for the long term with one of the best QB's in the league who has alot of football in front of him. I think we can all agree that Tarvaris Jackson and a journeyman like Sage Rosenfels is not a prudent answer for the future of a franchsie.......especially when the owner is threatening to move the team. You're not going to put butts in seats with either of those two.
Colt Brennan?? Please!! Tarvaris Jackson can lead the team..

That's the one part of all that I had to raise an eyebrow to also. Don't know if TJ can do the job or not but Brennan's not the guy. Hell Troy Smith would be better fit than Brennan imo. But I do think there are a bunch of guys out there that can prove successful... TJ or Sage could be one too. There are some great examples out there of what young/inexperienced QBs can do when you have a great oline, great running game and great defense.

I have always got A's or B's in school. It is easy for me that is why I have 2 Masters degrees. But to be honest if I only had to get C's to get my Masters, I would have no problem what so ever taking C's. C's are good too! All you want it the credits. Until to you go do your undergrad work. It is so hard to win a Super Bowl, so I am happy my team got to the Championship game. How many teams can say that. When was the last time they made it to the NFC title game? In my eyes Brett did more than I thought he would. I though they would make the playoffs, but I did not think they would make the Super Bowl. I thought the East would be in it. So I am happy.

You keep saying that, but for real, what happen last year? Who beat us in the first round? I think it was the Eagles and it was in Minny right? Not too impress with losing to them at home. And what did Brett do at the Dome this year? Do you see the difference?

It is not your fault you bought the lie that the Vikings were only a good QB away from winning the Super Bowl. They need more than that to be a slam dunk pick in my opinion. They gave up way too many big play on defense all year. Secondary and Line Backer are a most for this next season. Then you might have a real real good defesne. One that can win games on its own.

Re: The Brett Favre Saga

I'm not saying Brennan is "the guy to go after". But I feel pretty confident in saying that he's a far better passer and would be far more effective in utilizing those weapons than TJack. His resume in a high flying offense at Hawaii speaks for itself.....and it speaks louder than Jackson's resume. Brennan has looked pretty solid in the action he's seen on a bad team. But like I said, it's just an idea. TJack is going to be a career clip board jockey. Seriously, if the Vikings don't re-sign him who else would bother with him? I think the list of suitors would be extremely short, if not completely non-existant. Rosenfels is a short-term band aid.

There are other guys in the league who are young and full of potential who simply aren't going to get a shot for a variety of reasons. I think a guy like Brennan falls into this category. There are political and economic reasons in keeping him beneath Jason Campbell on the depth chart. Then to top it off you have an inept FO who's projected to make a huge reach with the #4 pick for a guy like Bradford. So just like that Brennan has even more strikes against him because the Skins are looking to make another huge 1st round investment on another QB who will be given priority based on draft position and contract status. He may be small and may not have the strongest arm, but guys like Chad Pennington and Peyton Manning have proven that football IQ is far more important than having the physical tools ala Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell.

So who to say Tjack couldn't have with done the same with the open up playbook. Plus they were screen play away of maybe winning the eagle game.

I didn't believe the lie because I felt the Vikings were Superbowl contender coming into this pass season because they could smother the run and they could run the ball. The WR core was going to be the best since the Moss and Burleson crew. I only remember two games that secondary give up big plays they were the Ravens(mostly in the fourth were look like they took there foot off) and Arizona game.

Brennan got outplayed by Chase Daniels in last preseaon. No way it was political hell the Skins tried all last offseaon to replace Campbell..
