Also they were always so close to getting the INT of the fumble, but were just a step behind. It has been that way with the vikings for a while now. Rice and Harvin would not have been this good with TJ. I mean think about it Rice is being consider as a great WR. Yeah he is, but thank Brett for that. Brett knows how to throw that ball where the WR has to go up and make the play. If you keep making those plays he keeps throwing them to you. TJ can't do that yet and the thing about TJ is he could not make the simple throw to move the chains he can make some great passes throw. Which is shocking!
I credit Sidney Rice devlopment for one being heathy for the first time and working Jerry Rice in the offseason...

As a person who has seen every Redskins game of each's career, the reason Campbell is above Brennan is because he's a much better quarterback.

Brennan's career comes down to two things, over inflated stats at Hawaii and a good box score in his first preseason game in the fourth quarter. Even then his "game winning" touchdown was an absolute garbage pass.

However, the best option should Favre retire is on the Redskins and it's Jason Campbell. He's not fancy, but with a run game, a great OL, and solid WRs, he can be a steady quarterback for cheap (I would think a 3rd or 4th draft pick would be all that's needed).
See post #67. We'll have to agree to disagree to a certain point. Admittedly, I haven't followed Brennan's NFL career all that closely, but you don't put up those "over-inflated" numbers if you suck. Persoanlly, I wouldn't consider Campbell an upgrade over TJack. I don't think either of them are good NFL starters. With "a run game, great O-line, and solid WR's" you could say the same about any number of QB's in the league.

Yes you can.

He broke the records of his predecessor. Timmy Chang sucked too.

If his number were legit why is that he wasn't first round pick??

How can you make comments about a guy if haven't really seen him play??

It is so hard to win a Super Bowl, so I am happy my team got to the Championship game. How many teams can say that. When was the last time they made it to the NFC title game? In my eyes Brett did more than I thought he would. I though they would make the playoffs, but I did not think they would make the Super Bowl. I thought the East would be in it. So I am happy.
I understand how you feel, but I just don't understand your state of euphoria missing the SB on one play.

For 16 yrs, I've watched Favre make great plays and boneheaded plays like he did on Sunday. I used to say the same as you, and be all happy and giddy over Favre. The happiness and giddiness slowed down considerably when I noticed Favre couldn't handle the pressure of an important playoff game after the year 1998.

6 Int's against the Rams, a playoff loss to Michael Vick at Lambeau, which I'm sure Favre threw a pick or two, the embarrassing mooning of Moss playoff loss where Favre threw a few picks, the last pass in the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles in OT was a pick and the last pass against the Giants in 2008 Championship Conference game was a pick.

I noticed a pattern developing. Brett can't handle pressure situations very well. History has a odd thing of repeating itself and it did again on Sunday.

You can say all you want how happy you are Brett brought you this far and Brett is the one that brought you this far, etc......., but if it was me, I'd be burning a hole in my gut.

As you said, it's hard to win the SB, any Viking fan would know that.(just kidding on that one, couldn't pass it up, though) It's hard enough to get to the SB, let alone win one. Chances like these don't come very often.

You have to seize the moment.

Re: The Brett Favre Saga

To be honest Road I have been a Vikings fan since I was 5 years old. So if they go to a Super Bowl I want it to be a slam dunk Super Bowl. Where they win for sure. I don't think the Vikings would beat Manning, so I am happy they didn't go. I do not want the vikings to be the only team to lose 5 Super Bowls. And that is what would have happen in my opinion if they played the Colts. Manning is just too good. So I am OK with them not going. I would have supported them if they go, but still I am OK with it. About Brett if he didn't throw though TD's and move those chains we would not be talking about the INT. He kept us in the game and he did all he could to help us win. Sure it was a bad decision, but when you are trying to get into FG range you take those chances. So it is apart of the game. I still blame Brad for some very bad calls at the end and his time management at the end. But what can you do.

You can keep thinking that, but that is not the real reason. Brett give him the chance to make plays and he did it. Plain and simple. TJ would be able to do that. We will see next year. The good news is Rice now knows he can make plays and that will go a long way with him. I hope TJ or Sage can do what all you think they can do, but I am not sold on that yet.

Re: The Brett Favre Saga

I look at it like this Road. And I mean this big time. I used to be like you with Brett. I used to say "you trust your arm to much, just make the safe play. " Then I said "you would win more Super Bowl if you did that." But the last 3 years I changed my mind on that. Why? Because if he changed you probably wanted have a chance to get to the Super Bowl. Because a lot of time those chances he takes did work. I watched enough games to see that first hand. That is Brett's game and if you changed that you would not have the same QB! So therefore you would proably not even make the playoffs. At least that is the way I see it.
