Re: Basketball is NOT Hockey

Seems to me thats what happened with everyone else

Why not give the guys from last year more than one year? They had a crapload of stuff to fix first

I just dont understand the business model of changing things every year and expecting the world

Lets not forget Ncaa b-ball no longer exist, so they might have a big team working on Elite 11.

I don't like Isomotion. Until I hear more, I'm going to assume that this is closer to Freestyle than Isomotion. If they're stupid enough to go that route and mimic Isomotion, then I'll pass.

I love the Shot Stick. The Shot Stick feels natural on jumpers. And since Live is more of a "mid-range" game than 2K, isn't that a plus?

Listen...this is how I feel. The game is moving in the right direction from what it sounds like (real time physics, scrapping canned animations, etc.

But I don't think they can put out a good, bug-free product with all this "newness" in one year. That's where my skepticism lies. Not whether they're moving in the right direction, because I think they are. But rather than believing that there's no way they'll put out a quality title in less than a year.

Whoever doesn't feel that something had to change is living in the dark IMO.

Most people agreed that Live 10 was a horrible product. This isn't saying Wang couldn't get it done...because I believe he could. It's just the end of the road for EA basketball. Either try a new formula for the sim heads or stick to NBA Street.

They are at a crossroad.

Thats the problem people are having. Its yet again another new game thats supposed to be IT, in a year.

Noone can tell because its been so horrible in the past and all you can do it go off of history. Again im not bashing the game myself, but im just giving reason for people's reactions at least one reason, since folks here are acting astonished that anybody can have doubts about EA basketball

..adn thats the point, they gave that team one year to fix the crap in this game then said nope, another new direction. Thats just unrealistic. So is that going to happen if Hockey man doesn't break the bank?

Which is the reason this game will be fine tooth combed from beginning til the end.

NBA Live 10 was not horrible by any means....let's be honest here. Live 10 was pretty darn good! Missing a lot of things though!

It takes producers that have wit to understand this. The problem is the chain of command. It starts at the top, the top represents only money. The money top requests the level below it to make money, the level below it can only make money with a creative product. In order to keep their jobs the producers cannot "wait" or linger, they need instant results. Well the problem is that formula doesn't work for sports games.
