Wanted to start this thread off by saying I believe this is the best 2K there has ever been. The gameplay is better than last year in my opinion and this is the most fun I've had with 2K in a while. The pro play on shots, layups and dribbles makes the game feel so much more unique. In years past the gameplay felt stale and every possession felt the same, this is not the case this year and I love it. I make sliders every year but some years I don't feel they play well enough for me to enjoy or share. This year I am very happy to be able to share them with the community, I hope you guys enjoy.

Game Plan --> Defensive Settings --> Coach Assignments
Stay Attached --> NEVER
Pre Rotate --> YES

This allows for proper rotations you see in today's NBA, paired with my help defense slider at 85. No more wide open, uncontested 3's, unless you have really good ball movement.

There are two methods to set this for both you and the CPU.

The first method, you can do during any game, exhibition or franchise. Pause the game, go to Game Plan --> Defensive Settings. You will already be on the coach assignments screen where you can find "Stay Attached" and "Pre-Rotate". Once you set your assignments, you can go to switch sides and do the same for the CPU. They will stick even when you switch back to your team.

If playing franchise you will have to be controlling the CPU team. If you're not already doing so, you can go to Options --> Settings --> Team Selection. This next step works both the same for you and the CPU. Go to Coaching --> Coach Game Plan --> Choose Opponent for USER/CPU --> Scroll to Coach Assignments (R2/RT Once). This where you will find the "Stay Attached" and "Pre-Rotate" options.

Difficulty - All Star

Quarter Length - 12 Minutes

Game Speed - 50


*Gameplay Indicators - OFF (This makes the game much more immersive, but also makes the game much harder. I play no switch on defense with this setting and its very immersive. Sometimes I play on ball defense, sometimes off ball, either way I never change once a possession starts.)

This was my latest test game after last nights patch. I was the Hawks. There’s a few things I’m still keeping my eye on that may need to be tweaked. Most notably, CPU steals, USER and CPU blocks, USER and CPU 3pt percentage.

Thanks for these. Can they be used with user timing and do you know how they play with other Eras? E.g. The Kobe Era

Unfortunately I can’t really answer either of those questions because I’ve never tested either. I imagine they work fine with user timing, you may just have to adjust the USER shot success sliders.

After starting a Pacers MyNBA I wasn’t loving how the sliders were playing. Things felt a bit too sluggish and teams were always shooting below 45% for both me and the CPU. So I went back to the drawing and am really happy where the sliders are now. The game flows a lot better and teams are able to score inside at a more realistic clip, there were way too many missed layups before. On the other hand I lowered 3pt shooting because most games teams were shooting over 40% and never under 30%. The OP as well as the 2K Share have been updated. Below are box scores for my last few test games, as well as a link to see the gameplay. One thing to note is that I’ve already dropped the CPU 3pt tendency after these 3 test games, they were just shooting too many 3’s. I will continue to monitor that value and see if it needs more adjusting.
