Is it only a matter of giving proper position to players? Let say setting a FW to MF to allow them joining defensive phase as opposed very up pitch positioning of let say Boca or France wingers in the demo?
Yes on that level, it is something I have always used Fluid Formations for. Example would be: Neymar and Messi would be WF or SS in the offensive formation but when the switch to defence they would be AMF or Midfielders. Hopefully Dmend can fully post his explanations here.

Here is the video I made explaining my initial findings. Watch it in 1.5 speed if it is going to slow for you (it is kind of long but most of the important info is at the start). I will upload some more videos as I am working on more offensive play styles now.

Re: PES 2017 Tactics

Well, using FF and switching all the midfielders to DMF, and the Attacking players to CMF when out of possession worked well enough to slow things down last year. My only potential issue is that this year I'm seeing mostly 0-0 and 1-0 scorelines on Top Player, manual passing, 15 minute matches, with the default tactics and no FF. So, while I agree the CPU goes crazy with the aggressive counter-attacking, the actual scorelines are actually really tame for me as is. And there are teams that should play higher lines, depending on the matchups.

Using auto attack/defense levels for user team sounds smart tho.

Really good stuff, and it inly took us 5 pages to get a breakthrough not 500.

PES 2017 Tactics

Confession: I just figured out last night that this game's match length is configured for total game length, not half length. I had wondered why my games seemed so short! This changes everything. lol

Yeah, I have to play at least 20 minute games to have accurate scorelines.

Re: PES 2017 Tactics

Not sure it is the right place to ask, but what game length are you using guys?
I am playing 30min games, having good stats (a bit high shot numbers +15 for both user and cpu), but 30min is kind of very long.

I was using 30 until I realized 25 was an option. Not too long, not too short, although 30 doesn't feel too bad to me.
