PHOENIX- It was an easy win for Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals to open the 2013 season, as they defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-1. It was a pitcher's duel until the 5th inning, when Matt Holliday hit a two-run home run to give the Cardinals a 5-0 lead. That was more than enough for Adam Wainwright, who went 7 strong innings, allowing just one run on a Miguel Montero solo home run.
