MINNEAPOLIS- An opening day blowout for the Minnesota Twins. The Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 7-0 in their first game of the new season. Vance Worley out-dueled Justin Verlander. Worley, although striking out just two batters, pitched a complete game shutout. Verlander struggled in his 4.2 innings pitched and picked up the loss in his first start of the year.

The scoring started in the fourth inning for the Twins when Justin Morneau hit a three-run home run to give them a 3-0 lead. After one more run in the fourth and another in the fifth, Josh Willingham hit a two-run home run in the eight inning to give the Twins a 7-0 lead, but all Vance Worley needed was one run as the Twins went on to win by that same score.

CHICAGO- The Detroit Pistons dominated the Chicago Bulls to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pistons swept Chicago 4-0, with the last game won most decisively. Detroit won 116-86 to advance to face the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals.

This game was all Pistons from the start. The Bulls got the first basket of the game and the twenty seconds before Detroit scored on their possession was the only time they led all game. Once again the Pistons went to Greg Monroe early and often. Monroe had a game high 31 points on 13-15 shooting. After a rough first half that saw him score 5 point on just 25% shooting, Brandon Knight scored 22 points on 9-10 shooting from the field in the second half. Brandon Knight and company did a good job on Derrick Rose as he scored 21 points, but had zero assists, rebounds, and steals. A great defensive effort and offensive output mean the Pistons are moving on to the next round.

MINNEAPOLIS- It's another win for the Detroit Pistons who currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference Standings. The Pistons dominated through three quarters, building a lead that got over 20 points, but the Timberwolves made it interesting in the fourth. With such a big lead the Pistons started to relax, and the Wolves took advantage of it. They got Detroit's lead down to 6, but the Pistons, led by their version of the big three, finished the game off and got the Pistons an 11 point victory.

Brandon Knight, Andre Iguodala, and Greg Monroe all had good games tonight. Knight led the team in all facets, as he fell just one rebound short of a triple-double. Add in solid games by Monroe, Iguodala, and the rest of the squad and you get a Detroit Pistons win.

DETROIT- A big win for the Detroit Pistons over a very good Golden State Warriors team. The Pistons scored 35 points in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a decisive 118-87 win. The Pistons were led of course by their three best players- Greg Monroe, Andre Iguodala, and Brandon Knight. Each player scored 23 points in this game. Knight added 8 assists and 7 rebounds while Iguodala had a double-double with 10 assists. Andre Iguodala had the assignment of guarding Stephen Curry and did a great job in holding him to 15 points on just 5-11 shooting.

Game Note: Before the game, the Pistons traded upset center Spencer Hawes to the Golden State Warriors for center Andris Biedrins and the Houston Rockets' first-round pick in 2014.

NEW YORK- The Pistons shined bright under the bright lights of New York City tonight against the New York Knicks. The Pistons beat the Knicks 116-94 at Madison Square Garden. Detroit led right from the start and never relinquished the lead to New York. After leading by just 4 at halftime, the Pistons out scored the Knicks by 17 points in the third on their way to a 22 point victory.

The first quarter was led by Brandon Knight and Carmelo Anthony. Knight scored 10 of his 24 points in the first quarter while Anthony scored 14 of his 34 in the first. Just when it looked as if the Knicks were going to take the lead from the Pistons in the second quarter, new addition Andre Iguodala stepped up in a big way. With the rest of the starters on the bech, Iguodala scored the last 11 points of the first half for the Pistons to help them keep a four point lead. Iguodala continued to lead the Pistons in the second half as he finished with 38 points and 5 assists. Season Opener

DETROIT- The Detroit Pistons won their season opener pretty handily against the Charlotte Bobcats tonight at the Palace. The Pistons won 96-89 and the game was not nearly as close as the score showed as the Pistons controlled this game. After the Bobcats took a 26-23 lead into the second quarter, Detroit responded by out scoring the Bobcats by 11 points in the second to take a 51-43 lead into halftime and never looked back.

The Pistons rode Greg Monroe early in the game as Brandon Knight and newcomer Andre Iguodala struggled to get going. Knight never got going as he scored just 4 points on 2-7 shooting, but Iguodala rebounded to score 18 of his 24 points in the second half as he helped the Pistons gain a double digit advantage on the Bobcats in the third quarter. Pistons fans held their collective breaths as Greg Monroe went down with an injury with 1:27 left in the game. Luckily it was just a twisted ankle and he is day to day.

MILWAUKEE- The Detroit Pistons continued their improbable playoff run with a 103-91 win tonight at the Milwaukee Bucks to close out the series four games to one. The Pistons were once again led by Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe. Knight led the Pistons with 26 points and 8 assists while Monroe added 23 points and 6 rebounds. Milwaukee was led by Brandon Jennings, who scored 37 points and added 12 assists.

The Pistons led this game right from the start due to hot shooting from Knight, Jeff Green, and Shane Battier. Despite seemingly dominating the first half, Detroit only led 53-48 at halftime. The Bucks came out firing at the start of the third quarter and tied the game at 62, but the Pistons took the game over from that point forward. They rode Greg Monroe to the finish line as he scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half.

The Pistons now advance to the Eastern Conference Finals after beating the Miami Heat in seven games and the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. They will play either the number two seed Philadelphia 76ers or the number three seed Chicago Bulls.
