I was hoping critical situations would happen every game. In madden you have several instances per game. This seems like it can sim several games in a row before it decides to give you an opportunity to contribute.

Judging by the info we've seen so far I think your best bet for a similar experience would be to play quick manage and then pick and choose what you feel is critical and jump in and out.

I wish on the quick manage screen, it had pitch counts or a percentage of health left. Hard to tell with a bar. Maybe that can be changed at some point

Gotta admit i was in the "meh" crowd after the Gamestop video Monday but this video is really starting to sell me on quick manage and critical situations.

Some very cool stuff for the sim fans. But these are features I will 100% never use.

I think it has been deleted video on February 17th. BAL's Kim is not a famous player, but his face modeling is the worst. He is korea's cover model.

Is he Koji Uehara?? T.T

So the critical moments is just for that game not for career milestones like 100 hr or hits so on as that's what was asked to Russel and he dodged the question also anyone who saw the commentary stream will they talk about trades during the game . ?? Thanks franchise mode for me is something I love but this year apart from critical situations everything else is just a paint job.

After seeing "Quick Manage" and "Critical Situations" in action, I am going to be using those two modes like crazy. I've always been into scouting and building my Padres from the ground up and have never been able to do that trying to play full games, and never felt fully invested by simming almost every game. Glad they provided a happy medium between the two so I won't be stuck only playing RTTS and DD!

I actually think Madden over does it. Like "block a FG." Or worse, stop them from getting a TD and it's 1st and 10 at the 20. You might be out there for 6-7 plays. I don't see those as critical.

Time to stop giving these guys a free pass on everything. No competition in the sports gaming scene always leads to complacency; whether it's still having flat looking or superhero-like player models in 2017, or the same set of running animations since the early PS3 days -- I'm not seeing a lot of innovation or needed fixes.

It's no longer Sony's fault there's no competition. The market probably cannot sustain two baseball simulation games. Especially with today's costs.

Today it's either AAA games, casual games or indie games. It's really hard to develop those AA games that have higher budgets than casual or indie games and appeal to a smaller segment of the public than AAA games.

Kind of looks like the critical situations might be only for majors and not minors. Hope not as I was planning on getting more involved with my minors teams with this feature. We will see come Thursday though!

Ramone mentioned franchise front office but didn't go into detail about it. Hopefully they will talk about that on Thursday's stream.

Sounded to me like he answered right then and there that milestones are a part of it. In fact, he was the one who initially brought it up.

I'll have to seep through the video again a little bit, but speaking of the milestone stuff, you could be sitting on 399 home runs for a long time with somebody, for example, and they must prompt you at least once a game if that's the case. I'm assuming they would jump to that person's AB in the first inning? If you say no, does it automatically ask again during the next AB? Next game? The curiosities strike my fancy!

Or, say you do jump in, and you ground out and want to jump back out again with the "Simulate to End" option. Does it prompt you to jump back in with that player when he bats again in the 4th inning?

Very interested to see how this plays out. I would definitely use this feature in franchise mode. Can't play all 162 games of 30+ years.

You are commenting on something in which you have no idea about. This type of comment is not needed or wanted at OS.

Until you see a dev being "complacent", take your opinion off of my forums. Only warning.

This "news" is so incredibly disappointing. There is so much to be explored in franchise mode, but instead they basically focused on the lowest common denominator and just made it easier to fly through games. It's hard to believe this is all they managed to do in a full development cycle. I will still get the game at some point, but this went from a day 1 buy to something I'll pick up when it goes on sale.

Honestly, it's unfair to sit there and say it's disappointing in regards to what they've done this year. Last year they made a whole slew of changes when it came to offline franchise and there isn't much more they could have done to WOW people outside of throwing owner mode back in.

I was impressed with what they did last year even if it didn't make it into online franchise and they knew they needed to please not only the hardcore fans, but the casual.

Not to mention this video touched upon nothing to do with the Player Quirks and such.

Really like these new features. I really can't get through a whole season and this should help me be able to and get the full benefits of franchise mode.
