NBA 2K17 patch 1.05 is coming soon, according to the official NBA 2K Twitter account. The tweet confirms update 1.04 introduced issues for the team to update rosters.

Something doesn't add up there but more on topic, I'm looking forward to the patch. I'm not crazy enough to think everything is gonna be fixed but hopefully Pro-Am is working again to be able to actually play the mode again.

This confuses me as well. Why is NBA 2k always weeks apart with PS4 and Xbox. Many other games come out the same day. You would think one time they would come out the same day or flip flop just once, if they really are submitted same day

What about defense?

Or the Play Now Matchmaking?

- timeout camera bug fixed in Pro Am

- Pro Am games always applying appropriate rep and correct teams

- Relentless Finisher badge patched

- On the Fly coaching menu not disappearing after you make one change without manually closing it

- Ridiculous skinny body types fixed

- Good Shot Defense grades actually making people miss

- Passing into paint for easy dunks / big to big paint passing when paint is crowded nerfed

- Passing the ball in on park dead balls not happening until your player is back in position

- Defensive and strategic PoEs sticking for more than one play; if they are sticking then active one should stay highlighted in on the fly menu

- Shot clock expiration sound much louder

- Charging fouls against people spamming turbo called more often, and more off ball fouls for turbo spam in general

Fix those issues and you'd have a START towards making this game what it could be.

Bra this list on point

No, 2k nor Sony will ever give out specific dates for patches. Because if it gets delayed for some reason, people will get mad.

am I the only one who is upset that slashers can actually run and fade from the corner? Are they slashers or shot creators? And they hit that constantly

It's because how moving shot works. I don't like the corner fades, but I get a huge meter boost if I hop step the corner or hop step a 3 due to shoot off dribble ratings. I don't agree with it being consistent, but we do get the second highest shoot off dribble rating.

I pray to God this patch comes out today. 2K17 is in a terrible state and with so many big titles out, this game will be forgotten soon if they don't turn it back into a sim game

Good point! I already picked up BF1 and with NHL 17 in my rotation....2k is slowly losing it's position in my CD sleeve wallet!

Just a couple of questions:

1. Who decides on when to really release a patch? 2K or Sony/Steam/Microsoft?

2. Another thread said the patch was already in QA, right? How long is that process?

# 74 thawkprime 21 @ 10/31/16 01:15 PM
I said it last week in a different thread blame Microsoft at this point. it would be horrible for 2k to let the patch come out for ps4 and pc weeks before the Xboxone gets it since the patch is tied to roster updates.

These are my opinions with zero technical/software knowledge. Everything I'm saying is based on what I've learned from here.

1. Once 2K finished with the patch if they could have released it that day, they would have. It makes no sense business wise to withhold a fix unless there is a problem with the new patch. Sony/MS/Steam all have their own certification process on making sure patches they receive won't cause a bug to their systems. So once their process is complete they go by their own update time frames. All i know as a ps4 user is that the ps store updates tuesdays and I usually receive updates on tuesday.

2. The q/a that was shown on the steam site proved that Steam had received the patch and was currently in the q/a process of their own certification process in order to verify the patch they received is bug free towards to their own software, basically releasing the patch wont cause steam problems. I remember the guy who posted on OS said that it should be a couple of days once it hits q/a. I believe with that discovery, and Beluba's "very soon", and now "2K's own tweet"/ this thread title, were all hoping it drops tomorrow at least for ps4.

3 Point shooting is a joke even wide open shots with guys who have a rating above 75 should be making at least 4/10
A 75 rated 3 point shooter should not shoot 4/10 on a consistent basis.

This with roster update/patch/in-game bugs all together turned into real fiasco lol.

do you know if the 1.05 patch also addresses the problem of too many injuries

Steam decides nothing. PC's are much more flexible. You update your game whenever you want and people can download the patch whenever you want. The fact that patches almost always come out last on PC is because either A. It's the last platform they test before releasing the patch to the public or B. They want patches to come out first on other platforms for various (usually money related) reasons. It's probably a combo of both.

MS/Sony are different, you must submit the patch to them and the test it to see it doesn't break the game/system then release it once it is approved. Patches used to be released on certain days but nowadays I'm pretty sure a patch can come out at any time once they approve it.

They don't do this because it's possible Sony or Microsoft takes something out of a patch that they put in. So they don't release patches until it releases to make sure everything gets in. Or else people will rage that 2k "promised" something would get fixed and it didn't make the final patch for whatever reason.

I honestly don't remember a game that released patch notes before the patch is available for download, but I'm sure someone has an example just for these types of debates.
