I've played about 20 games so far and I still haven't been fouled more than a handful of times combined. That's something that always bothered me about both football games, just not enough players committing fouls.

Weird. I play on 1080p everything maxed and my evga 970 stays under 40 celsius with the fan set manually at 15% 666 rpm

With a 980ti and 4790k you should be able to run the game without any problems at all, you should max it out and further. what windows system are you running?

I have tested the game with a i5 2500k+gtx 570 max settings running 60fps 1080p and i5 2500k+gtx 970 max settings x4.00 DSR running 60fps 1080p max settings.

Oh, FIFA. This is a game I want to like but just cannot. EA is so close to being on to something, but yet something about this game is off. The CPU is way too precise with everything they do. Even on slow game speed, the game moves way too fast. Fatigue is non-existent.

For all the problems with PES, it creates a game that is different every time you play it. I felt like I was going through the motions once again to try to win at FIFA. A few games into the demo, it has become too repetitive. Not too mention that your teammates like to stare at the ball, or even run away, rather than going after it.

It may not be fair to judge so soon, but I can see this game falling into the same trap once again. Great for a month, then gets very stale. Hopefully the retail version plays at 50% of the current speed.

Cool. I'm wondering if it's a driver issue. I'm running 372.70, which is the newest one. I've just never had my fan kick on, save when rendering video on my system. I'm not worried about it, it's not overly hot. It's just a loud fan on this card. I'll try my son's PC, it's a GTX 770, on Windows 7. I'm Windows 10, with Anniversary Update.

The main thing that can make this game (assuming the demo is the game, unlikely, but still), is the pass speed. If it can be lowered a couple notches, the play should improve a bit more.

In most cases, lowering pass speed will allow the balls in the air to also travel more realistically. At the moment, especially on corners, the ball just dips like a half-volley out of the air, versus any driven strike to it. It makes these crosses look very strange, and the goals resulting from them.

For once though, I feel the line settings (height, length, width) are spot on, and do not need any adjustments.

The acceleration, or Sprint, whatever value needs to slow down the twitchy animations - needs attention. Players are not moving naturally. Can't put my finger on it.

Run frequency is going to need some toning down. Those incisive runs, as expected, are going to make the pace of play chaotic. Should not take much to do, especially if tactics work the way they should.

That's really it, so far. It's a pretty looking game, now it just needs to play a proper game of "the beautiful game".
is this PC your on?
because i'm not seeing this on PS4........ The acceleration, or Sprint, whatever value needs to slow down the twitchy animations - needs attention. Players are not moving naturally. Can't put my finger on it.

On both, I have PC and PS4. It's just a speed up in animation on the consoles, still doesn't look natural, but no bother.

Have you questioned yet whether or not you force the AI frequently enough to foul you? as i've been fouled on quite a number of times when the AI clearly needed to push the brakes. (on legendary)

For those of you who feel there are enough fouls how are you doing it?
Playing in such a way as to challenge the CPU to foul you.
In other words, play less predictably, otherwise the CPU isn't obliged to resort to such extreme measures.

I guess you already know by making these kind of comments a rated 5/10 demo becomes 1/10? What you're telling is that you have to force the cpu to foul. That said all cpu players don't have individual ratings and just roam around the pitch waiting for the user to become creative, imaginative and force a football videogame, which they paid 50 pounds, to be a football videogame!
From now on we can call this game No Man's Ball.

Sorry to tell you but "fouls" are not an extreme measure football players are forced to use. Fouls are a very important part of the game. Fouls are a frequent event. Nowadays are so important that too many times games are decided by set pieces only. I am sure you are aware of other sports like Tennis. They call errors to be "forced" or "unforced". What you are telling is that CPU should only make "forced" fouls. That's not the reality. For example, you see world class players commit fouls on amateur players in cup or international games. That's human. That's natural. That's how it should be. I (we) don't need to be a top FIFA player, a master, to see CPU make the unforced mistake to commit a foul on me. That's so wrong.

Cheers!

Don't have the demo, but I do have a question:

If you set your CDM instructions to stay back, does he stay back or do they still go bombing up the pitch?

Yeah man, just like you need to remove every ''legal'' option for a human opponent to steal your ball so that he's forced to foul you.
Otherwise, if you make it easy for him to steal the ball without having to foul you, why should he?
The AI's programmed too faultlessly for that, but it does frequently make a foul against me, cause on occasion i leave it no other option than to foul me, lest i'm breaking through.

Ideally it shouldn't, but it is programmed to function that way, and unfortunately is still very far from playing flawfully like a human does.

Yet it makes fouls aplenty against me.
I remember Marchisio---seemingly out of frustration---assaulting from behind a player of mine who had his back towards the opponent's goal, and who was slowly crossing the line halfway the pitch to pass the ball backwards to a teammate.

Now that is a neat example of an ''unforced'' error.

Should have saved the footage. Maybe i did, not too sure.

Sweet dreams are made of...
unrealistic expectations?

You should know by now EA's light years behind when it comes to making the AI behave organically, but has been showing itself to come quite close in some regards this year.

No, but you do need to master certain basic skills required of a professional football player.
How else could you expect the AI to play realistically if you don't even master a required few basic skills in order to make the AI ''life's difficult''?
