There's nothing I'm enjoying more than rocketing a low drive from outside the box only for the GK to push it around the post at the last second! It just looks damn good. And once in a while I get a rebound goal from it...

Keep in mind when you look at the EA forums they have threads that say "should the game be more arcade or realistic?" And the majority on there say arcade. Hard to get invested in a game that will be repeatedly patched for those people.

NHL 17 which doesn't yet run on frostbite is significantly better graphically than FIFA 17. By FIFA 17's showing it is clear frostbite isn't ready yet, but since fifa was so poor graphically pre-frostbite they decided to push it to this year's game. NHL and madden are pretty decent graphically so there was no need for those dev teams to prematurely rush to frostbite and essentially graphically downgrade their games. This is why frostbite is only in FIFA.

Sorry to say it, but gameplay wise FIFA has fallen behind NHL. I urge people here to try this years NHL w/ operation sport's Al tito's settings. It is a remarkable achievement of organic gameplay.
I can't believe that's true, I've played the demo on both the Xbox One and PS4 and while the PS4's graphics were crisper and cutscenes ran smoother, the graphics weren't really bad for me on X1. On the field, the game looked almost the same to me on either system, it was really just in the cutscenes it looked different.

Are you sure you're using the right settings on your TV or system?

PS4 demo i'm playing, so first of all this isn't like 16 it's much much better.....
Free kicks are epic!
shielding the ball isn't OP just L2 your defender he will kick it out.
playing PES demo and this to compare. both games are winners this year.
and i haven't liked fifa in years but 17 is special more sim less arcade.
ok, back to my 4min half's..........

So I tested fouls by d/l'ing the pc version and changing the half lenght (to see if 4 mins just wasn't enough time). Still barely seeing any.

For those of you who feel there are enough fouls how are you doing it?

Its hard to get a real feel for the game without changing the sliders. but it plays much better than the beta did.

I've only had a chance to get one match in. It was ok. Nothing ground breaking, but I didn't HATE it. I was Man City and the CPU was Juve. The biggest thing to me was that Juve was actually trying to score. They took 11 shots! I can't remember the last time I was outshot by the CPU. I won the match 2-1, because Joe Hart stood on his head. (I miss Joe Hart) I will say this, I hope these aren't what the final kits will look like, because City has the wrong stripe down the side and the collars looked terrible. Also, the kits fit way too loosely. I'll try and get a few more matches in this weekend, but 2K17 will challenge that. Lol!

Just some "slider" musings of what needs adjusting...

The main thing that can make this game (assuming the demo is the game, unlikely, but still), is the pass speed. If it can be lowered a couple notches, the play should improve a bit more.

In most cases, lowering pass speed will allow the balls in the air to also travel more realistically. At the moment, especially on corners, the ball just dips like a half-volley out of the air, versus any driven strike to it. It makes these crosses look very strange, and the goals resulting from them.

For once though, I feel the line settings (height, length, width) are spot on, and do not need any adjustments.

The acceleration, or Sprint, whatever value needs to slow down the twitchy animations - needs attention. Players are not moving naturally. Can't put my finger on it.

Run frequency is going to need some toning down. Those incisive runs, as expected, are going to make the pace of play chaotic. Should not take much to do, especially if tactics work the way they should.

That's really it, so far. It's a pretty looking game, now it just needs to play a proper game of "the beautiful game".

I think I have the same feeling of un-natural movement, have had this for some time with Fifa.. AI changes directions too quickly and generally does weird stuff, mostly unrepairable with CL.INI so Im on the fence this year, Im getting NBA which looks great and I never saw these issues there. Will hold off with Fifa.

I downloaded the PC version of the FIFA 17 demo last night and the graphics look great maxed out on my 'puter. So it's good to know my 'puter will be up to the task of running the game if/when it finds it's way into my library one day soon. But last week in a PES thread, I mentioned I would not be buying PES 17 at full price, and at the same time I mentioned that unless the FIFA 17 demo knocked my socks off, I likely wouldn't be buying FIFA 17 at full price either. Yes the graphics do look better in the FIFA 17 demo over FIFA 16. But other than that, at least for how I like to play the game, I do not notice much difference between the two releases and since the game will cost me $80 CDN (yes that's not a type-o, $80 is now the going rate for the base games ... ugh), is the improved graphics of FIFA 17 worth the added costs when FIFA 16 plays almost identical? In otherwords, the FIFA 17 demo did not knock my socks off. I would like to play it one day, but I think I will wait for one day when it goes on sale and continue to play FIFA 16 in the mean time.

PS: oh and I did edit my localize property file in the FIFA 17 demo folders adding a couple of property entries which allowed me to extend my halves to 10 minutes instead of the 4 minutes the game seems to be locked on. Playing 10 minute halves is so much better.

Has anyone else with the PC had their videocard fan kick on a lot? I'm running it on Ultra, and my fan is always kicking on. No other game does this. Titan Black.

I have the nVidia 950 GPU and no in my brief time playing the demo last night on the ultra graphics setting (less than one hour in total), I did not notice any unusual fan activity coming from my GPU.

It is really hard to take much you see from this demo to heart. I'm sure the game play will be different in the final build, plus there will be a day 1 patch if history repeats itself.

To me, a lot rides on the tactics actually working. To have some variety among different teams would be fantastic. Holding off on buying until I can see some footage from EA access trial. Anybody else in the same boat?

Yeah, definitely. I'll jump in and edit the PC config as well later, see how 8-10 minutes plays. Demo adjustments notoriously don't account for stamina/fatigue though, so 10 mins may be too high before the players start limping off the pitch.

Spencer is playing the game early it looks like, haven't watched the entire video myself yet. This is player v player of course, so take that what you will...

I am glad I have EA access so will be able to see how full game performs with longer halfs to see results.

Finally had my chance to play more FIFA 17 matches, and the more I played the more I noticed the typical AI crap that comes from EA. I was playing a match with some low end teams (my team was Inter 80-80-79 vs Olympique Lyonnaise 79-78-78) and first half was ging pretty well with some decent scoring chances until I pulled a penalty in the box resulting in the other team scoring on a PK, after that the game changed completely and rendered the AI being basically unstoppable despite me going into menu and changing tactics- I couldn't even keep possession of the ball and the AI would sprint down the field to my net repeatedly just like they did in FIFA 15. It went from a 1-1 tie game in first half to a 5-1 loss. Seeing similar behavior on both professional and world class difficulty.

Ended up getting a red card too just from bumping the guy attempting to kick the ball into my net.

The AI is what I hate most about EA Sports games as of recent, EA can't seem to get it right- AI in PES 2017 is dynamic and sometimes unpredictable.

I am having heat problems with both my CPU and GPU with this game. Overall it runs like crap. I am playing in 3440x1440 with a 980ti and 4790k. If I knock it down to 2560x1080 and medium settings I can get 60 fps cut scenes but not on gameplay.
