I do see home run animations but usually hit the "O" button to fast so that it does not skip directly to my scripted defense turn. I'm hoping this lets the game play out naturally but I don't know any more because I went 15 innings tied 0 to 0 in Franchise and it seemed like the game depended on my locked player to get that run.
I play player lock in Franchise mode as for all those new animations that were mentioned I have yet to see as many. Maybe because I am playing player lock in Franchise mode?

The online play is seriously a complete joke. Constantly fails and is so slow loading anything from online. Just put tons of money into fixing it for christs sake.
Loving the gameplay, but the little hiccup during cut scenes, takes me right out of immersion i could be enjoying. Last year they had the cut scene of high fives in the dugout, one of the coolest cut scenes i have seen in this series, not in this year, dont get it.
Wish I could play the game more than I have... It's mostly just online failed challenges over and over again.

I interrupt the complaining (justifiably so in reference to loading in online stuff) to gush about how I love that new IK engine. One of my RTTS pitchers has a delivery that has him taking a big step over to the side and whether I get a punch out, pop fly, or get hammered into the 3rd deck, the animations that play out are so damn smooth. I just love the way my player bounces when he gets a K.
I also love how players emote more than just an idle golf fist pump when they get a big hit. Everything is so much smoother and better.
But it does get offset by some of the same things I've seen for the last several years like the same create a player faces and hair styles and body types. Sure, some of the hairstyles have been updated and look better than ever, but when I see the Red Sox and see Hanley Ramierz's awesome hair or Johnny Cueto's hairstyle, I'm like "Why can't the braids look like actual braids and not like 10 really big caterpillars are sitting on my player's head?

It's obvious where they spent all their time and good work it is.
The glaring issues that were present in previous versions just continue to tear at the integrity of the game.
They're small issues but here they are - I play in season mode controlling several teams against the computer.
1. Pitch counts - still way off. A starter may have thrown 105 picthes but at the end of the game when you review the stats of the game their pitch count jumps up to the 140's - it's almost like they are taking the total pitches for the game and lumping the to the starter.
2. Computer Manager - What a knucklehead. Brings in left handed pitchers to face right handers - pinch hits left handed hitters against left handed pitchers and vice versa. They need a slider that says 'Manager Stupidity' and the lower you set it the more bonehead moves he makes.
3. Replay - They needed to add a feature that allows the Manager to argue strikes.
4. I'm done bitchin.

I have played well over 50 games of this year's installment and all I can say is that it gets better and better with each new game I play.
Well done SCEA.....well done...

Loving this game. One thing I hope they patch is when using a retractable roof and selecting rain or overcast skies it's still sunny with the roof closed. It's minor and annoying, but by no means a game breaker.

I don't know how i feel about precision input yet. To me, it's good at bat: with directional hitting, i feel to have more hit chances with great hitters and less with crappy ones. For some weird reason, in MLB 15 it was quite the opposite ( for me ). Now, pitching. It doesn't seems heavy stat related this year. I suppose that's the reason why people find it easier. I mean, there are pitchers with good control but very little command on the pitches, here is like every pitcher has huge command on the ball/location. At the moment, i'm All Star+ in pitching, meter interface, and still Veteran+ in hitting, directional interface. Simulation wise, what you think guys ? Is precision input a step in the right direction ?

Precision input is one of the best additions to this year's game, imo.
Precision input has made HOF a viable option for me this year on pitching. If I get hit, it's because I made a mistake with the meter, or picked a bad location. I haven't felt cheated once, and have been rewarded many, many times. Love it.
