I definitely like the mention of free agents decision on where to sign not being so random. I used to throw so much money at free agents with them having full interest only to have them sign with others teams for half the amount, would get frustrating.

Thing is, that does happen in real baseball. Example: Dexter Fowler

I absolutely love the new morale and contract negotiations.

Here are a few things that I want to know if it's been addressed.

- Rotating schedule for interleague games
- No more CPU teams putting mid/late Relief Pitchers into the starting rotation.
- Improved equipment choices for generated rookies.

Doesn't seem like awards won are gonna be tracked. Really disappointing if true

Very true. But there are ridiculous times it happens in the show. Trout hits market at 28 and signs a 2 yr 40 mill instead of 6 for 180. Many, many 1-2 year deals for superstars

Nope. No one offered him more money this off season. He settled for his contract. Fowler chose to take the Cubs deal over the Orioles and White Sox.

I'm excited about scouting as long as it's completely fixed, and I'm hoping future scheduling is fixed as well!! Very excited for this game!

Nice step forward as always. Really like sortable stats! It already was a solid mode I am glad they keep refining it instead of blowing it up and starting again. I think that's the best approach.

Only thing I wonder is, from the video it sounds like trading will be pretty easy. You see the players interest and what changes his interest live as it happens. It seems like you will be able to sign pretty much any player if you want them bad enough. I wish we had a trade difficulty slider but it's not the end of the world, just takes some self discipline to not stack your team. Probably use some house rules. It would just be better imo if we could set difficulty very high so we didn't need them. Just a minor complaint.

Oh and that FA/trade notification thing that shows the players new uniform is SWEET! Still need to see how the CPU teams work the FA market and how sim stats are but this is all looking good! if sim stats are relatively on point (last year pitchers stats in particular were inflated. Complete games, shutouts, saves) I am gonna have a hard time not being absorbed in this mode.

Some things he didn't mention in the video like he mentioned they improved player progression for pitchers. A lot of people were saying how in the far future pitchers would dominate the league in one of the streams he mentioned they looked at that. Also I believe the weather is fixed now and changes accordingly to season. I think last year it was always defaulted on clear if I remember correctly. Yeah the only thing missing is a changing schedule year to year. Maybe have a template of 3 or 4 different schedules for each team and use a different one each year rather then doing it all dynamically.

As for player awards on player cards, they have shown the player stats and player morale player card tabs perhaps theres one for player awards too. I am hoping. I think the purpose of this video is to show off the big new features that make people buy the game. We care about those little nuances like player awards in their cards but most people don't really care. That's why I was hoping for a fact sheet because those always list every improvement. We will probably get that on Thursday's stream.

  • Bullpen AI so that RPs are used more strategically, and not just pulled after giving up a run
  • More subtle defensive shifts by AI
  • Spring training not counting as player option
  • The new playoff roster rule from 2015 that anyone on the 40-man roster is eligible, regardless whether they've played during the season or not
Spring training Does count as an option if they are on your 40 man. That goes for real life as well. They have that right.

I was already super hyped about having WAR in the game, but we're also getting FIP as well? That makes me very happy. I wonder if there are more advanced stats or if it's just those two. Even if it is just WAR and FIP, I'm pretty satisfied. I hope that they can add more stats in future versions like wRC+, DRS, wOBA, ERA+, etc. but for now, I'm definitely happy.

also hope awards have a different way of being handed out. Just because so and so has 18 wins but an era of 335. doesnt mean he should win over another pitcher who has 16 wins and a .205 era.
stolen bases are completely ignored for position players as well when it comes to awards
