MLB The Show 16 Twitch Stream - Showtime & Road to the Show (Archive Available)

Sony San Diego is Twitch streaming MLB The Show 16 right now, as the team goes over the Showtime and Road to the Show modes.

Watch the stream here. For those of you that miss it, we will update this post with the archive.

UPDATE: The stream has completed, watch the archive here (it starts at roughly the 16:35 mark).

Some notes:

20-80 scale confirmed in Franchise mode
You CAN turn the Showtime feature on/off
New running styles are normal, lumbering, speedster and athletic
Over 600 new animations added, 100's more a dive specific
While running bases, hold L1 for a zoomed in view, L2 for a medium view
Oakley, EvoShield, and All Star are the new equipment brands
New Balance not in this year, maybe next year
No tattoos or face scanning in RTTS
You can view team uniforms in player editor

I wonder why the in between inning Batter due up overlays still look exactly the same again? They still show just the AVG for the 3 batters and I really think it would be better if it showed 1 for 4, 2 for 4, 4 for 4 type stat instead. I bet the Home Run stat overlay popup is the same too again

And yes I know what we saw was not close to final. But this happens every year. The stat overlays that you see in the early twitch streams never change to whats in the final game.

Again I am not saying the current stat overlays are awful it's just that they look almost exactly the same for years now. The look and presentation needs up******.

And one more thing was that the scorebug that will be in the final game? I ask because in the first trailer for MLB The Show 16 they showed 2 different scorebugs. And if you ask me I liked the other one with the red dots for outs better then the one that was shown in this twitch stream.

I'm guessing just draft scouting but I'm hoping it can be turned on for all players

I know they've stated that before, but they've also stated many things were impossible/unlikely in the past that are now in the game.

So i hope this is the case here as well in the future.

Look at it this way - if you knew about the new features now the wait until you put the disc in your ps4 would be longer.

Lmao, yeah i really enjoy playing this game, it's my favourite game. The only game i play year round, all other games are out of my ps4 within a few months, but not with the Show.

Which is why i just came to expect a lot from this game, because i've seen in the past how well this team has done in putting together the best sports game every year. But since the ps4 has arrived, the improvements haven't been substantial in my opinion, and the game is falling behind other sports title.

Really think about the improvements made to RTTS over the last 3 years on next gen. They've added a showcase, now perks and showtime. In THREE years, that's about it, unless i'm missing something (brand name equipment wasn't RTTS specific).

It's easily my favourite game, and i just want to see it improve more like the other next gen sports games.

In rewatching the stream...is this really a ps4 game? I am looking and looking hard to find some positive and the only one I have is the audio through the controller. Too much of the same everything...we need a leap like 2k had in their basketball franchise. I bought a PS4 specifically for MLB The Show and now I am having buyers remorse big time.

This isn't the final version. They haven't shown us the pbr yet. There is a good chance the graphics will look much much better. Not that the graphics here look like anything less than a PS4 game anyway.

Interesting in the Edit Player Screen, the 3rd category is Personality.... Wonder what that could mean other than the type of running style
