NBA2K16 PS3 - MISSING 12 NEW CLASSIC Teams!!!

Did anyone purchase the NBA2K16 for PS3? I just got the pre-order and it looks like there are missing classic teams compared to what was announced for NBA2k16...

Missing 12 new classic teams for NBA2K16 PS3! There's a site http://nba2k16game.com/nba-2k16-classic-teams.html that revealed that 2K Sports will include 12 new classic teams in the main roster but the PS3 version doesn't have the 12 new classic teams.

I've included a video browse of the rosters - https://youtu.be/DAxxUE5Pw-w

Crowd celebration needs to be fixed. Happened twice already im the home team under 1 minute left and whenever i get a go ahead basket the crowd are just dead quiet no noise at all. Totally unbelievable that til now 2k just cant implement a realistic crowd atmospher. It would have been consistent to really if the crowd celebration is fixed soon. Please 2k hear me out.

After watching Czar's videos and spending time in all areas of practice mode, I'm starting to get a good feel for this game. Still on All-Star/Simulation.

Love the new Pick-N-Roll controls. Being able to choose what side you want the pick set is great and then the roll, fade, slip options are great, too. Used the Thunder in my last game and man, had some beautiful mid-range jumpers and drives to the basket for Durant and Westbrook just using these controls.

The zip passes from the CPU to bigs in the paint needs to go away. Straight cheddar on their part there. Help defense by your AI teammates on CPU pick-n-roll an be better. Seeing a lot of strange rotations/decisions out there.

I've seen more missed dunks in four days than I did in 9 months of playing 2K15.

Simulation bliss.

I am getting my *** handed to me by the AI purely because I have not adjusted to the fact that I need to play real basketball in a game finally.

Lost a triple overtime epic yesterday and the chess match element late 4th onwards was a joy.....

Loving it.

Once i stopped fighting the controls it's made adapting a little easier. Don't want to reiterate what others have said; here are my big positives/negatives:

Pros:
- Graphics pop more than in any NBA2K previously imo. Everything from the player likenesses to the arenas are top notch

- The bar for presentation has again been raised. I'm not too big a fan of the halftime show; seems like it's just showing mostly stock highlights of the 1st and 2nd quarters, and doesn't seem to sync up with the halftime analysis. But it's still decent. I think everything from the varied game introductions, to the improved cheerleader routines, to the between quarter interviews, to the crowds/reactions (once you turn the crowd volume up), etc. - just way beyond what other games are doing presentation-wise imo.

The various arena player introductions is something that should be played up WAY more - I saw one for the Wizards that was amazing and haven't seen one since. It's like they'll start to trigger then they don't. It sort of reminds me with what they did for 2K11, with the Michael Jordan/Bulls intro - see it once then don't see it again. It'd be a flat-out SHAME if they don't make those trigger more often, to the point where people get tired of them. Those are the types of things that should be highlighted, not buried.

- Playing the AI in a sports game has never been so enjoyable. The way players/teams play to their tendencies, make adjustments based on those tendencies... all stellar. I'm on All-Star and haven't won a game yet but having a great time working at getting better and not feeling cheated.

- Just a plethora of game modes. I've only been doing Play Now and Blacktop, trying to get used to the controls. But the amount of options in the game is almost overwhelming. Blacktop 1vs1 is great for getting a feel for a player btw

- Extensive customization options

Cons:

- Haven't seen the AI post up a lot/really attempt to work me inside except on mismatches. I know I can tune that using sliders; just stating on default I haven't seen it much.

- With a game offering this much gameplay depth, the lack of an in-game interactive tutorial or skills trainer is brutal. And a huge missed opportunity imo. I've brought every 2K since '05 and I still don't know what the various hedging options mean, the benefits to using one set defense/offense over another, etc. I do play with Full Play Art on but that's only because I heard the Czar mention it as a good way to learn - YEARS ago, before he was hired by 2K. I thought there was no way the game wouldn't have some sort of interactive tutorial this year and yet it doesn't. Not only that, they make the game deeper and offer even less information in terms of teaching people how to play their game.

2K shouldn't rely on people learning basketball fundamentals from the Youtubers, on 2KTV (which I like), or going out on their own to learn the game. Imo people simply learn the few things they feel comfortable with, develop bad habits, and stick with that. 2K absolutely has to make the effort to show people how to play the game properly. And not tie it to some mode like MyPlayer or whatever - it needs to be it's own option in an environment that encourages people to try learn the moves (can reward people with VC or accessories for completing skills training, for example).

- This goes along with my above note: how is a person supposed to know a game option exists if they don't know it's there in the first place? For example, an explanation should be provided for what a slider does and what changing it's effect will have. Think that was in previous games. Something like changing the controls to Absolute from Camera-relative makes a huge difference in how people perform moves. To my knowledge, this isn't explained. I know to switch to Absolute simply because I happened to read it here years ago. Makes me wonder how many people struggle with an already intimidating Move list because they're fighting with the control.

Overall I'm loving the game; kudos to 2K for such a stellar effort
Great review.

I actually think 2K nailed the halftime show. How many times do we watch Inside the NBA and the talent is 95% of the time talking about something other than the highlights being shown. That's what the 2K16 halftime show is and to me, reminds me of watching a TNT broadcast.

If it weren't for SimCast, I wouldn't even be playing this game anymore. Too many things don't work as they should. AI defense locks you down on the perimeter regardless of attribute rating, players STILL dribble off people's feet CONSTANTLY, Ball screens by the cpu are absolutely ridiculous. Could be Chris Paul screening LeBron and LeBron would get caught up in the screen. Just so many things keep me from enjoying the game. Feels rather broken to me.

That is a point of frustration for me that I do NOT understand.

That aside, this game feels GREAT on defense. For the first time, I feel like I've got a chance to defend dribble moves this year. Shooting seems a bit more concise in terms of release points than before. The passing game also feels much more refined. I can run a fast break with less awkwardness than before. Still getting used to some of the new control tweaks, but overall, its a really good game.
they wanna drive you nuts and hope you throw money to that VC lol

I think defense is way too over powering this year. You can't even move and cut to the basket to beat the defense... AT ALL. 8 times out of 10... that's not realistic. In real life, especially in the NBA, it happens. They gotta ease it out... and like i mentioned before, where the hell are the three's at? Missing open shots and everything. smfh.

The next thing they gotta learn to do is have replays show after play is dead, like during a foul, time out, or OOB. Hockey games are doing it. They also have to find a way to show more than dunks and fouls.

Because this game is so good, it actually makes want to be much harder on it than any other game I play. The flaws are ironically more jarring because of how high the quality of the game is.

For me these are some core things that should definitely be tuned.

1. The absolutely ghastly offensive rebounding for both User and CPU. The numbers are really low, mostly because of the lackluster animations that play out when players go for the offensive boards. Players attack defensive boards with supreme effort, on the offensive glass they barely put an arm up, and hardly jump. This is very poorly tuned.

2. Dumb User team A.I. on defense both in transition and in the half court set. I just want the teammates on my team to play as well as the CPU team does. The worst is giving up several layups a game off of missed free throws because they have no idea how to match up in transition. Also players on the weakside wandering in the paint for no reason and giving up open 3's despite the defensive setting that are applied. The low defensive ratings and IQ seem exaggerated for the User team.

3. This one has been talked about ad nauseam. Bigs and poor defending smalls being too good on the perimeter for the CPU team. They aren't just playing angles, using length, and gaping you, they're in your jersey and moving laterally like First Team All-Defensive players.

4. This one is maybe most distressing because it is a long stand legacy issue and may not be able to be tuned. CPU opponent players getting 90% of the 50/50 balls every game. They just have preternatural awareness of loose balls while the User team flounders around stupefied.

I hope these things get addressed at the default levels before I have to adjust the sliders.

I've been a fan of 2k on both Basketball and Football. This year is a major disappointment. They've taken a page out of EA's book to make money.

The game play is improved a lot. I can actually defend really well not that I had an issue last year. But...it's a lot more even in 16 than 15 which had me swinging all over the place trying to defend.

Yes, game plays good. The horror is outside the game. MyCareer is a complete disaster. It's all about VC now. I'm not going to spend more than $60 to upgrade MyPlayer. My guy is horrible and yet I get praised for my skills. WAAAAAAA???

The whole Spike Lee story think is stupid. I mean come on, Spike Lee? Last year was totally different. Coaching talking to me on the sideline giving me props or coming down on me. Players talking to me in the huddle and the locker room. This year is a low budget movie. The voice overs are low which forces me to blast the TV. Then when the game begins, you can hear my TV down the block. I had to tweak out the audio settings just to make this work. EPIC FAIL!!

The visual plays are not working. I don't know what I'm supposed to do on the court. So I run around asking for the ball until it finally shows me where I need to be. Not to mention, this year I don't play myself. I created The Legend Ronnie Fields. Simply because after 1,000,000 tries and looking like Sloth from Goonies I gave up.

I'm really disappointed at 2k and the approach they took. Cash Cow if you ask me. Welcome to the new world.

Note: Too much presentation, not enough basketball. If you're going to make a good presentation, you might as well mimic the real deal as it happens in real life. Seems too cheap. I disabled what I could but I still get the player of the game crap and it's annoying. I feel like I'm playing a clicker game just to get passed that stuff. Also, for a next gen console, it sure takes a long time to load.

I just want to drop in this thread again and say how sublime the gameplay is. Sure its not perfect but it is SOOOO good. Worlds better than 2K15 and the most advanced AI I have seen in a sports game to this day. Strictly in terms of gameplay, this is a masterpiece.

I really hope 2K doesn't listen to the whiners and nerf anything or change this brilliant, organic flowing game. There are some flaws like the CPU almost never passes back out after an offensive rebound and the PS4 highlights are buggy again. There is always room for tuning and improvement but my God this game is fun.

Delay in Icon passing. There are some delays when passing period. I would say about 2 seconds and then the ball passes. This game doesn't feel right. I went back to play 2k15 and it's a world of difference. Yes the animations are great and makes the game feel quite organic. Unfortunately, this is by far the worse 2K has produced. It just feels like a concept product that will be 2k17. Never thought this day would come.

Man i'm really loving this game, making lineup adjustments really matter this year!!!! I had the Cavs and played the hornets twice, both times we lost and Al Jefferson lit me up from the post and with little close range jumpers. I realized speed wise Mozzy couldn't hang with him after my last lost. So what I did was start kevin love as center over Mozzy and made Tristan start Pf. Al was stuffed because Love was able to keep up with him better and still had Tristan for help D .He came away with 9 points the 3rd game and we won by 7 that game....My first win on Allstar Sim.....

Sorry you have that problem but I sure dont. This is the most responsive game 2K has ever made no stuck in animation woes and absolutely no passing delays on my end. Then again I havent even taken the game online yet so maybe your problem is an internet lag issue.

From where I sit this game is really really good

Yes, I am confused as well. Not understanding what you did and would really like to know. Man def down? CPU awareness? Just trying to eliminate a lot of speed passes to the post. Even tried lowering the CPU Attack Basket and Backdoor cuts down to 0 and STILL see a lot.

Sorry man, I couldn't disagree more with this post. Defense is the best it's ever been on a 2K game. It feels like there are so many more variables in play when it comes to dribbling and making moves to the basket. You can't just speed burst past players anymore. It actually takes spacing, dribbling mechanics, and timing your speed burst. I've had plenty of times where I locked down my defender. They'd pull a hesitation and then sprint right past me. I've also noticed that if you try and speed burst around a player more often than not you bump into them and it throws your rhythm and timing off and that stops your drive just like in real life. I have noticed that when players try zig zag cheese, the defender can strafe like it's nobody's business. Not saying zig zag should be more effective, but side to side defensive movement covers a lot of space in a short amount of time.

As for shooting, this has been an argument for years. No one makes every open shot they take. If you were to tell me you were going 2-10 on wide open shots then I'd understand your complaint. I'm not an outside shooter, and even I'm not missing that many open shots. Shooting feels pretty good right now. I'd hate to think what would happen if they bumped it up. Nightmares from previous patches come to mind. I don't like how easily off-balanced shooting can be. It seems like you've got to give your shooter way too much time to set their feet in order to shoot a straight up jumper.

My take away from reading your post is that you want the game to have a more arcadey feel and everyone should score. This year it feels like you can play on both ends of the court and that's a good thing.

2K is absolutely amazing this year. I'm having a blast. Is there however anyway I can make my player lean and change bodytype? I'm 6"8 and my player looks a little chunky.
