Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

In theory it seems the same to us. But to the game it isnīt.

If you go to league settings for all the 31 teams you are not going to control, you set all CPU Assistance Settings to ON so the AI will take care of all the player management, signing etc.

What you donīt have to do is to go to "user screen" as commissioner and select all teams with the option as "autopilot" because that will triggers the Drive goals back on. And i know this will be tempting because itīs faster than entering each owner and selecting CPU Settings ON.

It makes more sense now?

Armor has a suggestion for how to do trades via a random number generator. See his slider thread.

I usually make trades mainly year 1, and an obvious but painful workaround would be to have a separate 1 user franchise running where you could see what assets make the trades work, write them down, and then surrender the same ones in the 32 teamer.

Also, the default trade logic accepts literally any draft pick for players on the trade block, so these could still be made without worrying too much about cheating the system.

I applaud everyone who is trying to make this work, but it's really disappointing. I'd give $500 for a good football game that worked. My time is more important to me than money. Can always make more money.

Hopefully someone at EA is taking notice of all these finds. On the surface it seems to be pretty easy fixes, of course they always tend to break something else when they try to fix something.

Who knows what the final product will even look like. That's why I'd hesitate to spend all your time trying to fix something that may just get changed in the end.

I'm so sorry to ask this, because I know, that the answer is somewhere in the thread. I've looked, but its somewhere in the 100+ pages.

What is the benefit of doing the 32 user controlled franchise? What bug does it remove?

Drive goals.

One thing I didn't mention before that also adds to the problem when it comes to Drive Goals and how they give out Confidence is the fact that you can be rewarded for negative play. In the Texans game I lost 38-20 but all the players on my defense received confidence boost from drive goals that were "don't give up a passing touchdown" in which I gave up a rushing touchdown. And the other was "Force a 3 & Out" I gave up a 65-yard touchdown on the second play of the drive and my entire defense got a boost.

Thatīs why drive goals make no sense at all. NONE.

they are just give it randomly. Drive gola is that X player make a tackle.. What???

This drive goal is that QB doesnīt have a Sack.... ok, he threw an interception and viola! 1+ confidence!

And to make things worst. Without drive goals, confidence work pretty good.

We have 150yds rushgin -1
my qb % was terrible -1
We loss a closed game -2

Make much more sense.

That's correct, it leads to no draft day wheeling and dealing for picks. Kills some of the realism, but it's a work-around. Who knows, maybe tonight EA will surprise us with the roster and maybe ANOTHER tuning update that fixes everything so we don't have to do all this? I try to think positive.

So we want to create generic users to be coaches or owners with coach firing off to relieve the duties of being own for the CPU run teams? I’d think coach unless to allow the owner to still handle all FO decisions (pricing/marketing/etc). I’m still uncertain what might happen if a coach simply retires, I’d assume we’d need to reassign that user to whomever becomes the new coach.

Technically once past the coach hire/fire process (which we have turned off) couldn’t we turn autopilot on during the offseason to allow the cpu to draft or will it still recognize it as “next user selection”

Still happens to me. Incredibly frustrating

I'm at work or I would test this, but a workaround to allow CPU off-season activity would be great, and this seems likely to work.

I'm pretty sure there are still CPU draft day trades.

Seems the patch fixed prexisiting injuries. They are working with the default preseason 75 man rosters, although they all are listed as having a complete ACL tear for 26 weeks.

What i meant on the replied on armorīs post is that some people read 32 teams control and run away, they think they have to play other games, or baby sitting other teams, and while you can do, you can also play almost as if it were a 1 solo CFM. It sound complicated but it isnīt.

To create a 32 teams control what you have to do is.

Create a franchise and select your team, starting point, league settings and on YOUR TEAM select all CPU SETTINGS OFF and coach firing OFF. This way the AI wonīt touch your team.

Then you start the franchise, until here, is the same as you ever did. Now what you need to do is

1.-Press R3 and select new character.
2.-You will se the same screen you saw before, your team will have your PSN Nickname and said taken, so you select another team and you will have the same exact screen as you did before, but this time on CPU SETTINGS inside the league settings you set all to ON. This way the AI will take care of this team.
3.-you repeat this same thing for the remaining teams.
4.-Then you go back to your character, and done you donīt have to enter or do anything else for the other teams

Saved as a start so you donīt have to re do all again, if you decided to start a new franchise with other team you can just change settings and character.

NOTE: DO NOT SET ANYONE ON AUTOPILOT. It seems this enable the Drive goals.

Hope this helps
What do you mean by "DO NOT SET ANYONE ON AUTOPILOT?" I thought we could set the other 31 teams to CPU control?

# 978 jwelsh1 @ 09/11/15 05:20 PM
It is confusing but I think that exact question has been asked 7 times. "Auto-pilot" is a distinct setting. As long as you never set it to something that literally says "auto-pilot" verbatim, you can tell the cpu to do the other tasks

I'm gonna try and help everyone out here.

AUTOPILOT is NOT the same thing as CPU. They are two different functions. You'll see this once you actually get in and set it up.

Ok.. Back to your regular broadcast.......

It won't benefit me much since I don't go to my buddies house enough, but if these workarounds make CFM playable, it will help many others.

I will say this I played with the tuner last night and think the game plays better with than without and didn't see any of the wonkiness.

Going to try playing 32 team CFM tonight.
