Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

That's exactly what I'd like to know. I've always played solo cfm so this 32 team control stuff is greek to me I let the cpu handle alot of things and stay hands off. I just want to get into my games ill get into trades and free agency etc when the devs make cfm more immersive for now i just want to play the games. But if it chills the drive goal stuff I'm willing to give it a go I just want to know if I have to control every aspect of 31 other teams or not

You can set all 31 teams to full auto. The front end work is just setting up all 32 coaches/ or owners (if you go owner mode route).

I would recommend you turn coach firings to off for every coach you set up....it will save you a headache.....if you want to do absolutely nothing for 31 teams....set it to off.

This may reduce the impact big time if it work. Apparently when playing against a "user" goal drives are disable. So increasing confidence will be much slower.

I will give it a shot and report back.

Edit: I just saw a under throw pass from Ben. For those who complain about erratic passes. Watch this game. 2 best qb. And you will be surprised how many passes touch the ground without being touch. Sorry for the off topic.

Lol. Brady is 15 of 17 in the first half. Not many have hit the ground but he does have a bad case of robo qb!!!!

I'm all ears. I bought this game and I want badly for it to be entertaining enough for me to enjoy like I enjoy The Show, which is for 10 months out of the year before reaching boredom.

I'm going to follow this thread closely to see what those who are testing this setup out report. If it's viable, I'll put in the work on the front end to set up 32-team control and will let it ride w/o the tuner. I really hope this works.

How does free agency work if you do 32 team control? Will you have to sign each teams free agents?

I'm not too tech savvy...how does one delete or get rid of the tuner (I honestly don't even know what the "tuner" is...)?

Some says that without tuner the qb awareness is better. I didn't have enough time to try it.

Regarding the 32 teams you can setup that the CPU does all the signing, draft etc is very similar to solo actually.

The above is an excel sheet with positions, teams and ratings for players with realistic/scanned/unique faces. It is based on the work done in this forum plus the lists for the m15 and m16 Addons from EA.

I had absolutely nothing to do at work, and I found a complete excel for the m16 base set, and simply did some mumbo jumbo to cut it to non-generic players. If you know a few excel basics you can sort for a lot of factors to find non-generic players for your cfm. Attributes will help with scheme fit, etc.

It is not perfect, let me know if you have things to be changed. It is based on the default rosters/mut base set, so players may be on the wrong teams. Also, players who were free agents when the game shipped do not have attributes. I have no plan to add them. I tried to add positions and the team they signed with. I did this only for free agents, not players who have changed teams.

There are some big big omissions and a sack full of random players with faces, but after the update today, I think we have to be really pleased with the dedication that has gone into adding these. Huge huge upgrade in 2 years.

OK guys, so I ran a 15 min quarter with 20 sec accel game after watching the Pats vs Pitt. I kept a keen eye on them getting to the line and how things played out, after the game was over I wanted to see how Madden played in regard to this real game. What do you think for the stats of this "Play Now" game?

....???? The issue that deleting the tuner fixes shouldn't matter if all 32 teams are actually being played by a user player.

I already looked at this, you can only reset players who have dropped lower than 50. It literally says "only players below 50 confidence will revert back to 50." Kind of ridiculous

Well said. Though I do understand that they get many more "testers" based on the community, most of these issues are brought to light by 1 or 2 people and then everyone else pays attention. If they hired some of the guys on these boards that constantly are the ones finding issues maybe it would help...
