Madden NFL 16 News Post

The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Quote:
Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

Let us know what you are seeing!

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

EA has taught me oh so well.

Been ducking into the threads every now and again just in case CFM might be worth playing at some point this year. So it was handy to learn a couple of weeks ago that EA said flat out not to play the mode post release, pending a patch.

105 thread pages later on patch 1, I think I have enough data to tell me the patch to fix it. . . hasn't. Not that I'm shocked. I'm not even mad.

Just relieved I didn't waste my time or money.

I'll probably be back again next summer to hear JP tell me how it's really really really going to be different this time.
If you didnt buy it you have no reason to be here

Now, seeing long-time guys like Bkrich, who are not known for hyperbole or engaging in the anti-Madden vitriol, say that CFM appears to be fundamentally compromised even after the patch, I feel like a fool for giving Madden my money.

I was all about the game play improvements evident in Play Now and thought there was no way that they could manage to bork CFM badly enough to make it not feel like the same game as Play Now. I thought they had really turned the corner with this game.

I have ZERO interest in this game for Play Now. I ONLY bought it for franchise play. And I feel like I got robbed. Again. But it's totally my fault. This game has a two-console generation record of failing to deliver a basic sim experience.

I won't say much more than that, but I feel duped, and disappointed. With two kids and a budget to adhere to, I can't afford a $60 mistake. I'm going to have to consider getting into basketball, and I'm going to have to play baseball through football season now.

When I got frustrated with Madden I went to 2k basketball.

Was like moving from here

to here:

Ok, so maybe there are some drainage issues out back and some cracking plaster in the downstairs bathroom, but as an offline franchise gamer it's been like a revelation. Playing a really fun game where the developers go out of their way to blow you away with their improvements based on community feedback year on year.

I bring this up in a Madden thread because I'm hoping somehow, somewhere, someone at EA will decide to study what's been happening with that game, its priorities and design, and approach to franchise modes and think, "Hey, maybe we should do that."

I'd love to come back to Madden football if that could happen.

Wrong. I want to come back to Madden.

This is the place where maybe someone at EA can hear from someone like me who used to be a customer and who wants to come back.

Long time Madden gamers who don't buy - but who want to play the game if it is designed and executed well - should also be heard. I'm not a destructive ***** personality type, as the mods around here know.

Maybe if more people like me got on the radar, EA wouldn't just think it learns all it needs to know form its telemetrics.

IMO. Game is highly playable doing that.
Are you saying you have to play every game, every week in order to make the cfm playable?

What exactly did you want them to hear? You added nothing constructive to this thread. We have enough trolls we don't need more.

Sorry you feel that way. Because I said very directly what I want them to hear.

But I won't derail the thread. I said what I had to say, whether you think it's constructive or not.

And with that I'm out.

Absolutely not.

I am saying dive in...play the game. It's fun...and it's playable. Very playable.

Perfect? Never. But there are ways to have a lot of fun. Get lost in your franchise...get your story lines going....just get playing.

Zo, I'm leaning towards BK's side here. I know how passionate you are, and I know how badly you want to like Madden. But it's not constructive go come in here with comments like you've made without even laying hands on the game.

It's an impression thread. It's very hard to have an impression without gameplay.

Like I said, I'm out. And I apologize. The title doesn't say impressions so I didn't take it that way.

Oh I know it's playable and fun, but I just don't have the time to play every game for every team.

Hey man I did a quick test on my dolphins cfm. I played against jax and what I did was to create a new user and assign the jax. Then I played the game and as some poster said there were no drive goals doing the 32 teams offline. This will make the confidence increase a much slower rate. So I want to give it a shot. How do I have to set so others teams the CPU handles their management and I only take care of my team? I recommend to those who like me can't play this game because the confidence to test it and share your finds.

Armor I saw you are going with 32 offline. Is it still safe for me to go solo offline post patch and get started without seeing big issues? I'm usually pressed for time I usually only get 3 to 4 seasons in a year anyway

Hey man I think he plays different games but you don't have to. I think you can chose for the CPU to do all the stuff and you won't even notice that they are there. I will give this a try just to see if drive goals does not trigger. This will make confidence more balance and it will take a lot more to increase. Hopefully otherwise I may have to give up.

Let us know how this works out.

# 798 booker21 @ 09/10/15 10:27 PM
Will do. After the pats and steelers game I will start a new franchise. For testing purpose I will just create the user team I will play against. I don't want to do all 31 and then find it didn't work.

When you set up the other coaches (or owners as I am going to roll with owner mode instead....look like fun and I will set finances to auto for 31 teams) just set game prep, fill roster, free agents offseason and in season resign to auto.

Good to go. You don't have to do anything for any other team other than your own.

# 800 booker21 @ 09/10/15 10:31 PM
So the "league settings" are specific for each team? Because I saw that the CPU settings are listed in there. I was afraid that it will change mine too. Thanks I wil give it a shot after the game.

Edit: I just saw a under throw pass from Ben. For those who complain about erratic passes. Watch this game. 2 best qb. And you will be surprised how many passes touch the ground without being touch. Sorry for the off topic.
