Like I said earlier, some just want to complain period.
Most of those that complain have no experience in game development and/or testing and they do not realize just how unrealistic some of their expectations are. My signature applies to most complaining posts I've read in this thread. Even to a respected community member's post like amedawg's.

Using words like "Orwellian" is hyperbole of the same degree he is complaining about.

Just have to give a round of applause to 2K, this sounds great. The only issue now is servers and servers only.

Hmmmm that simcast picture had the same scoreboard 2K15 had. I'm holding out hope that they just had it in so they didn't drop a "hidden bomb" for a possible TNT license. I just with they would make a scoreboard that actually looks like one you'd see on an actual broadcast.

his complaints may have been a bit too much, but the general point is ok.
b2topic i think 2k knows what they have to do in the future. the direction is right. they have set the bar high.
when you compare it with other sports games, they are doing a great job.
look at fifa/pes. there is no chance to play a franchise mode let alone league with you friends online.

Agreed. The ability to bring back the NJ Nets is an option for sure I bet.

So many tidbits of awesome myLeague news. Mostly TEAM RELOCATION. THE SEATTLE SUPERSONICS ARE BACK BABY.
and if Newark or another NJ city is in the game the NJ Nets shall be back!

Not to mention the amount of hype I have for other teams actually having an identity, PROGRESSION/REGRESSION SLIDERS, Summer Leagues, and even MORE control over things in myLeague. Its glorious.

I love the new layout too.

I'm glad there are gamer that are only satisfied with only having the world and not the universe. 2k is likely "done" with the game. Posting only praise for the developers gives them a good feeling for a moment. Posting concerns allows them to possibly jot down notes to improve the series in the future, maybe.

And what's going to happen IF 2k announces team relocation to smaller cities and team expansion for NBA2k(future installment) because either they had it on the whiteboard for consideration OR decides to put it on the whiteboard now because they read that this is something people could be interested in, in threads like these?

It's more realistic to expect my 6'0 self to be the next LeBron James more than it is to expect my city with it's whopping population of <2000 and average income of <$25,000 to get and be able to afford an NBA team.
I may have thrown out extreme examples of small time cities, but it's the idea of allowing small time cities to have an NBA franchise. Having an NBA franchise could boost the surrounding population and other factors within said town/city and surrounding areas.

Your existing town may not support a real life NBA franchise now or never, but IF your town starts growing in the future, give gamers the power to get an NBA franchise virtually in your town.

How in depth are they actually going into the different available cities? If it's numbers, population, gender demographics, financial estimates, aren't these easily searchable via google or yahoo searches? I just ran a search on Concord and Contra Costa county. Concord approximately #120,000 population with an average income of about $80,000 and Contra Costa County approximately #1,000,000. Yes, it's an estimate and I know you would also have to break down the population into young young children/babies (can't afford to buy an NBA ticket, etc), woman, men, the elderly.

Surrounding citizens traveling miles upon miles to the arena could also help support an NBA franchise in the small town.

When I first heard about team relocation (a month or whatever ago? along with their Pro-Am mode, customization feature, etc.), maybe I read wrong or overlooked the details, but I simply questioned how extensive these new features/modes were going to be. I didn't think there were restrictions.

Again, just hoping that 2k tackled all potential possibilities when they created these modes/features.

Anyways, here's just hoping small cities and team expansions happen whether it be in NBA2k16 or future installments (if they are not available in NBA2k16). Let's not limit the game. Let's strive for improvement however small or large it may be.

Look at madden who has 5x as many (guessing) debs working on that game and they couldn't knock out 5 things on that list. I guess I'm just ok with baby steps albeit most of these additions are more than baby steps! Sliders in leagues in itself is big time. Plus let's be honest how many leagues really play a year let alone multiples? I'd say not to many to warrant a lot of Dev time. To each their own...
Most will never understand how much coding etc. it takes to do half of the things they do so it's pointless trying to get people to understand. I get their frustration as I'm a gamer too, but it's hard for people to understand why it may be harder than they realize to do something "small" like being able to choose jerseys in MYCareer. The man hours and lines of code needed for"small" things would make most of our brains pop.

Will the sliders in general - not only difficulty sliders - be editable in MyOnlineLeague??

I would imagine that it is being saved for the MyCareer blog. That's the context we have seen colleges depicted in and it makes sense for the mode considering they only have about a dozen or so teams.

I appreciate very much the honesty behind your post, Simballer. It is comforting and deserving of respect that you and the dev team take so much care about this videogame, that is the biggest hobby for most of us here.

I also can say that I am very happy (and with me the other 29 simheads that play a spanish online league with 7 seasons now in our backs with the same continuity in rosters/franchises) about the online leagues being back.

It has been hard for us to understand how something that working SO well, 5-6 years ago ceased to exist.

But today I want to be thankful and appreciative and I am glad that you brought back this special mode for us. I can just hope that this becomes a minimum set of options that comes with the game every year and we can see it grow from here until everyone is happy.

In the meantime, our league will be doing drafts and free agency via pen and paper (or pc's and laptops) like you did in your childhood.

Peace.

Has anyone considered that comparing OA now to what it was in 2k12/13 is unfair considering that was at the end of a console cycle and this is the beginning of one? Just thinking about it, 2k14 on current gen was damn near a reboot of sorts with how barebones it was. 2k15 was the first "full fledged" effort on these consoles and fleshed things out a bit better. 2k16 seems to be expanding upon that and gradually OA is making its way back completely. Let us not forget how horrid 2k games are online, so let's not act like this may be easy for them ESPECIALLY with how this gen hasn't been the smoothest transition. It was even mentioned in the article the decision was made for stability reasons.

so in the new my leauge mode can we play with like 4 of our friends and have the rest of the team be computers . like in assaocitaion in the older 2ks

What I don't like is this

It's one mode, really 3 in 1

We haven't even seen a trailer yet

We have this freaking huge blog after weeks of complaining about teeth and no gameplay and no info

Yet we have some to come in completely ignore EVERYTHING and pick out one thing they don't agree with and swash over the game like it might as well be DOA because its not EXACTLY how they want it.

Forget everything else right?

I can't even believe the amount of things here that was in that long post you made, yet thats still not enough, and then throwing shade around as if My League the offline game is not the core of the game, like "yeah im glad for you offliners but this is unacceptable"

We just sat back and watched them release a HUGE ONLINE MODE CALLED PRO AM (crew) whatever you want to call it, full customizations, teams staduims uniforms and leagues, because thats what the majority of onliners were complaining about and guess what

More onliners complaining again

This cycle of ridiculousness never stops with them.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say that the myLeague online portion will begin to get beefed up going forward now that its in (and they know its stable). Lots of new complicated stuff in the online mode that would need to be worked out for online.

Also didnt 2k JUST deck out pro-amthis year for the online crowd. Its not like you got the **** end of the stick. Pro-am looks amazing in that regard
