Over the past few years 2K has actually gone backwards in terms of online leagues. Can't you guys see. There were essentially no online leagues at all in 2K14 on the next gen consoles and the mode has been non-existent the last 2 years. Previously, NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K13 had online leagues (granted there were bugs and issues with the leagues), but the basic features where there.

We are now reaching NBA 2K16 and still no offseason activities. This game's online franchise mode is FAR AND AWAY behind NBA 2K13 and that is 100% UNACCEPTABLE.

I'll go with that... Id assume 2k11 leagues were used more than any other seeing that was the best we had that I remember. Im sure those numbers last 4 years fell off immensely due to bare bones mode. I get it! :-)

I get what you are saying but considering the amount of stuff 2k has added it was probably just one of those things they didn't have enough time for or just wasn't on their list of priorities. I could see if 2K barely made changes and the online off season was left out but they did adied a ton to these modes. There is only so much that can be done in one year.
I guess after all these years i really would accept no online franchise. Yes then i can finally recognize i shouldn't buy the game and spent my whole time trying to make things right and get going, if you know what i mean, it's my time and dedication plus a lot of other guys time and dedication, too and well earned or not some kind of dollars or not still more or less they count. You know how much time we dedicated this year, i got into coding and built my own website (it's a plus for me right, 2k makes me creative sure!) yet it's a hustle that in the year of 2016 i shouldn't be dealing, that's the point of game consoles plug and play. How is that possible if the only mode i play is way behind of that concept and it's been like this not one but for years...

So i'm sorry but there are more wrongs then rights here and yes i would take no online franchise rather than this anytime.

That probably includes locations in New Jersey as well.

As someone who prefers offline to online... THANK YOU 2k. You aren't ignoring online, but to see a video game consistently year in and year out make efforts (even if they aren't perfect) showing they DO care about offline franchises is amazing and you've already earned my purchase. GAHHH this is awesome.

Why give a mode the equivalent name of its fully featured offline version when it pales in comparison? The lack of an offseason alone renders this mode an online league; and far from an "online franchise" as described in the blog. Let's call a spade a spade and leave the misleading marketing wordplay of "myleague online" for the casuals and uninformed who can't discern between the fully featured offline version and the half baked online version.

I do respect VC for delivering a mode that will work out of the box while implcitly alluding to the fact that the inclusion of the offseason aspects could glitch or break the mode like they did on last gen OA modes. I am also appreciative of the admin options and league customization options that were omitted up until the 3rd iteration of the series for next gen.

With the hype meter fully dialed down after the reveal of this god forsaken mode in comparison to the offline version, it is imperative that the questions posed by Ataman be answered in order to calm the anxieties of an appreciative albeit dissapointed OA nation.

If at the bare minimum, a dev can assure us that all of the myleague offline options for team coaching options and roster management are present in the mode, then the confirmed custom roster feature will be the bed rock of hardcore leagues on extending this mode to be a fully featured multi season OA; accounting for manual progressions, regressions, retirements, and draft classes, along with a work around FA system. Frankly, we were able to do this in 15 with custom rosters as workaround, so the admin options, game registration, stat tracking, a functional post season is what VC is essentially assuring the OA community in the is blog for 16.

Leftos, Czar, Sim baller, we appreciate your efforts in beginning to throw more resources and attention to this long neglected mode. The community acknowledges that Rome wasn't built in a day but acknowledging basic roster management, coaching options, i.e playbook customization would go a long way in placating the anxieties of this hardcore community who has enjoyed the OL/OA mode dating back to the xbox/ps2 era.
Couldn't put it better than this Ame.

Wow...I mean...just, wow. I alternated between head-nodding, fist-pumping, and a few actual cheers as I read through all of that.

So many great things here, but I'm largely at a loss for words. This is incredible, I will definitely be getting this now. Just when I was worried that sports games were slowly kicking franchise modes to the curb too...I feel so naive.

I recently asked for info released so that I can convince others to invest in 2k16 instead of waiting until next year or later.

You more than delivered, thank you. Your Developer Diary/Blog has a lot to present my family and friends with to convince them to buy the game.

I also think the diary/blog was one of the best written I've seen in years. Thank you for renewing my faith that such can still be written. Not just an hour ago, I lamented the lack of such elsewhere.

I can not wait to see which of these amazing systems and features made it into the MyCareer mode. MyLeague was fully covered, so I can at least drool over every detail released there.

OKC will never "deserve" a team until the wrongs inflicted in Seattle are addressed. A stolen team does not "belong" in the possession of the thief regardless of that thief being a multi-billionaire friend of the ex-Commissioner or not.

We don't ban off of sense of entitlement posts

Some guys in here completely ignored the entire blog which is fat and full of things to claim something is unacceptable?

Like I said earlier, some just want to complain period.

Free agency, and NBA Draft are critical parts of the NBA and that has been removed from online leagues.... when 2K games from LAST GEN had those features.
Yeah but OA's were broken. They had to completely scrap that as they obviously couldn't get it working properly for 3 years straight. I'd rather have a barebones game that works as opposed to a mode filled with bugs and broken logic.

Yeah the Thunder would be getting moved back to Seattle as the SuperSonics either way for me. The way it should be. Expansion or no expansion.
